I love doing this to my pots too. But I am able to buy a product called PRO Quik Crete at my local Lowes. It comes in a small enough can , that is good for one pot. It is premixed and ready to apply right from the can with a putty knife or a gloved hand. I mix some with a brown paint and some with moss green to age my pots or bricks. I don't like anything new in my garden. I like it to look like its been here forever.
Oh that sounds ideal Liane, thanks so much for sharing. I’m just the same, love rustic vintage 🤎 Have a great weekend lovely 😊
I can’t find anything called that. Can you tell me what the original intention of the mix is used for. That way I can search for the type of application.
@@Rabbitique58 this is what I used 😁 Evo-Stik Fast Floor Grout available in DIY stores and on Amazon. Hope that helps 😊
@@Rabbitique58 its called Pro Select ready mix concrete patch and its about $10.00 for a small tub. I get mine at Lowes.
I’d love a picture of this please. I’ve searched Lowes for Pro quickcrete😢
None of these plastic pot to stone transformations look realistic... but your actually does! I'm blown away with how lovely and natural that looks, especially with the bits of moss. I have given up on buying terracotta and other heavy pots as they're too cumbersome to manage and often crack in the frost. This looks just beautiful. Thank you.
Oh thank you so much Gillian! Yes they are so heavy to move around, I find doing it this way gives me the best of all worlds. Hope you give it a try 😁
Love this video, thank you for those great tips !!!
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!😊
This is the best faux stone pot diy tutorial!
Thank you!!!! 🙏🏻😊
Love your planter stone look project!!! I would like to try this on a smaller scale. Thanks for showing us how! :)
You are so welcome!🤗
And I forgot to add, Tracy these are gorgeous and I love your channel.
Thank you so much!!🤗♥️
Thank you so much for this video. I've wanted to do this for a long time. My garden theme is old Victorian. I love the look of unpainted cement. I actually found your channel by accident. I'm not sure my wife will thank you. lol Have a good day.
Delighted you found me! Welcome!😊🤗
👍❤️🇨🇦. I was so pleased you used an old pot.
I’m all about reusing, revamping and repurposing where possible😊
I plan on a vignette of pots this Spring. As soon as the weather is a bit warmer I will create a few for my gardens. I absolutely love the natural look.
That's a great idea! Have fun!😊
Amazing! It totally looks like old Sandstone x
It does! Thank you!😊
Love this video. Thank you for sharing and your tutorial was great! Beautiful outcome of the plastic flower pot!
Thanks so much! 😊
Just started having a go with a smaller pot ...I've added some orange / terracotta pigment at the beginning stage . I'm just waiting for it to dry off a bit before the next stage Really enjoying the process ...I've got some very large new plastic pots , so I thought I'd experiment with something smaller first . Thanks for all your fabulous ideas ! ❤
Oooh the pigment is a great idea!! Good luck and have fun!!🤗♥️
Best advice , thanks
Ciao, video molto interessante e spiegato molto bene, grazie! Saluti dall' Italia 👋
PS: grazie per i sottotitoli 👍
Ah you are welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!😀
Wow, that looks amazing!
Thank you!!😊
What a brilliant transformation. Yours was the best, and I have seen many. Excellent tutorial and essentials recap. Now your lovely coat is starting to blend with the stone finish.
😂 yes I do get a bit messy! My old clothes always get downgraded to work clothes… you may see me painting in sequins one day 😂
good one!
Those cement and grout elements are economical if you already have them. But a little pricy if you have to purchase them. Anyway, the effect is fabulous.
I'll try this technique next summer, its too cold outside for this project. Brrrrr . . . 🤧⛄❄
Loving how it turned out, you did an amazing job. I would love to try this
Thanks so much 😊
I love this idea! I have learned so much from your videos. I really appreciate them. Thank you.
You are so welcome!🤗♥️
You would never believe that pot was plastic what a transformation well done I am definitely going to do a couple of pots this weekend thank you for a great video.
I’m delighted to have inspired you Norma! Have fun 🤩
Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure! Thank you for watching! 😊
Looks absolutely amazing! Also, I love your accent!
Thank you so much! 😃
This a fabulous idea! I have stone and cement pots and no longer can move them. I will try this.
They are so heavy aren’t they! That’s the beauty of this method although I would say if you are doing really big pots with lots of soil I wouldn’t move them once in position as it may flake in places. If it does, just mix up a small amount and patch in 😁
You did an amazing job! What a wonderful way to transform plastic pots!
Wish I looked as nice as you when I work outside 😊
Hi Maggie 🤗 awww that’s so kind of you to say! I was in my paint splattered scruffs so won’t be winning any fashion awards 😂 Have a lovely weekend 🥰
Awesome. Your attention to detail is perfect. TFS Have a great weekend.
Thanks so much Linda, have a lovely weekend sweetie xx
Absolutely love, the idea a great video I am myself, live in a cottage and I think the stone affect on the parts looks so much nicer. I have hundreds of pots as I’m always buying flowers. This is definitely a great idea.
Oh thanks so much! Best to do it on rigid plastic pots, nothing that’s got flex in it or it will crack. Thanks for watching 🤗
Thank you, for the great idea.
You are so welcome! 😊

Yay! Thank you!😊
Love it, South Africa, thanks
Hello in South Africa! Thank you for watching 🙏🏻😊🥰
this is the first time Ive seen a DIY for stone pots that actually look like stone. I have to try it on a pot Ive bought for a tree and since I placed the tree I hate the pot. Ill just have to be careful not to get product in the soil. Nicely done.
Thank you and have fun with it!😊
Tus transformaciones son espectaculares y muy realistas, adoro tu trabajo y tu talento, gracias por mostrar tus técnicas
Oh you are so welcome😊
Thank you so much. I am so glad I found your channel.

I absolutely love this idea. Thank you so much for sharing like you said the stone pots are beautiful but very very expensive but they look so much better. I’m so gonna be doing this. Thank you very much ❤
It’s a good compromise and so much lighter to move around! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻😊
Thanks for sharing this tutorial! I have a collection of mismatched pots, and I also have a clay pot that was given to me that is chipped and cracked. This technique would be a great way to save that old clay pot! Thank you again!
Glad it was helpful! Have fun creating!😀

You are so kind! ☺️ Thank you so much Betty🤗
Wonderful!
Thanks Lynn😊
wow those pots look awesome, you are so talented.
I've learnt a lot from you by watching your videos. Thank you so much. Looking forward to your next hack !
So nice of you! Thanks so much for watching 🙏🏻😊
Thanks. Never would have thought of exterior groat and tile product. Here in Florida, plastic disintegrates and wood attracts ants and rots. Aluminum will stand up, but it;s flimsy and expensive. Metal rusts. Concrete is the only substance that can take it all.
Those plastic pots are headed for a new life.
I love the rough texture. and your color choices. Looks at once old and weathered.
Pleased to have inspired you! Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏻😊🤗
I really needed this, thank you.
You’re welcome! Have fun 🤩
Really nice technique and tips. The pot looks so good.

I LOVE this!!
Thank you! 😃
Magnifique résultat ! Well done!
Oh thanks so much!🤗
I recently did some tile work and of course used the dry thinset you used here. That stuff is incredibly adhesive and drys super strong and hard. Definitely going to try your idea.
Good to know! Thanks for watching and sharing 😊🙏🏻
This looks so good 👍 ❤
Thank you for watching! 😊🙏🏻
Thank you so much for this video. Just found you by chance today. Will definitely check out your other videos. Love from South Africa
Hello Riana and welcome! Delighted you found me! 🤗🥰
Brilliant video, very easy to follow, you've done a great job. Any tips on how to make "feet " for the pots to sit on ?
Great suggestion! I’ll need to think about that one 🤔😄
@rizmirza1829
My pots sit on a paved patio and I have used the hard plastic tops off milk 'bottles' . Not pretty, but I can't see them and they do the job until I find something better! Hope that helps.
@EC-lq3qw brilliant suggestion! 👏🏼😃
@@EC-lq3qw that's a great idea, love it
They look so realistic 👍 Would love to know how you do your make up too.
Thank you so much Michelle! I’m super pleased with how this one has turned out and bless you re the make up! 🥰🥰
New subscriber...LOVE this idea and how it can be suited to whatever someone's style is :)
Yay! Thank you! Yes you can play around with the colours & pot shape to suit your style. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻😊🥰
I love this look so much. I'd like to do this with 8 pots and spread them throughout the garden. But how do they hold up over time? If I leave them outside all winter, will they crack and crumble next year? I live in zone 6 US and if anyone can answer this, I would appreciate it. Thanks and beautiful job!
I’m leaving the ones I’ve done outside all year. So far so good. If you are doing really big ones that get heavy when planted I wouldn’t move them as any flex with cause cracking. Otherwise I think they should be fine. I’ll keep providing updates! 😁
Having so much moss you could easily do kokedamas. It would look great in your decoration style.
Great idea!! Do you use clay soil for those? We are clay based here so wondering if that would work?😊
@@RuralRefurb i haven,t done any. I have no moss at all. But I would love too try. I guess any sticky soil would do.
To try. If you look it up in Google you can find instructions.
Beautiful
Thank you ☺️
Very creative 🎉
Thank you! 😊
Material em português por gentileza agradeço lindo demais parabéns sucesso profissional 👏👏👏😘
rejunte à base de cimento 😊
I have some large terracotta pots I was able to get second hand and I definitely love the idea of doing this to them. I am also planning on getting large grower's pots for trees as I rent and can't put them in the ground here. This will be perfect for those as well. Thanks for the video.
Sounds great! Have fun and thanks for watching! 😁🤗
@HollyOak
Hi, I live in Scotland and am so tired of losing terracotta planters in the winter. Did you use this on your terracotta yet and if so, how did it come out? Do you think it will get through the winter? Would love to use it on the (very) few I have left as they are great shapes - and cost me a small fortune! Good luck with your trees, they make such a difference.
I’ve not used this technique on terracotta, just on plastic as I had the same problem with my terracotta pots cracking plus they just got too heavy to move around. Maybe consider bringing your favourite terracotta pots indoors and using my other stone effect technique on those… check out my recent lamp revamp video for the technique… then get some decent hard plastic pots for outside and use this technique on them?? Just a thought 😊🤗
Thanks for that. I'm afraid I'm basically an artist who plays at gardening every so often! There's not a spare inch in the house for the pots, far too much art stuff 😬
Even my poor house plants are 'cliff hanging' off various shelves!
Great idea
Thank you 😊
brilliant!
Thank you for watching! 🙏🏻😊
