Thank goodness you have this video! Seriously! My buzz isn't that loud but I thought my headset was bugging out. I don't think mine will charge while playing but I need to test a little bit before I return it as I'm really just looking for an extension. Glad I'm able to test now I WAS afraid to via the buzz. They have some battery straps on Amazon that look appealing that I will try if I return my battery pack. Thanks again for video earned a sub
Blunty your videos are the best ive been watching you for years. I bought this battery pack and my quest 3 stayed at like 100 until the zybervr battery was at 2 to 3 bars . Then my quest 3 dropped to 90% and stayed there like you said. But mine never charged the quest 3 back up.
Okay. I’m sold! I have the bobo strap and I’m having the buzzing issue as well. This neck solution will also work for both my headsets (qpro and q3) thanks for pushing me over the edge on this lol
14 hours continuous use with no spare battery! Theoretical best case, but bear with me. Assumptions: each battery in the neck set offers 2h each, they charge SEPERATELY at the same speed that they discharge, and the headset offers 2h... PROCESS: Put the swappable battery on charge the moment it is dead [@ 2h]. Put back in the swappable battery when the built in neck battery is dead [@ 4h]. Put both neck set batteries on SEPERATE charge when fully dead [@ 6h]. Use the headset, and when dead, put back on the now fully charged neck strap [@ 8h]. Put the swappable battery on charge the moment it is dead [@ 10h]. Put back in the swappable battery when the built in battery is dead [@ 12h]. Use until dead [14h]. Probably won't be 14h, but it will be very long.
Lol I clicked on this video because I received a buzzing issue on my neckband I brought I thought it was just me. Lol. Just to confirm I did get the buzzing when plugged into the elite strap, but they returned it no problem I did enjoy the battery and I will buy another one as soon as they are back in stock to give it another try.
It looks good, but since I usually only wear sport pants when playing (I live in a hot country) that neck-battery pack would get wet and it would bring more heat to my body. Nice thing about is that you can use it for any headset, not only the Quest3. I just bought a 20.000 mAh powerbank for a very reasonable price and that delivers enough juice to keep my Q3 going. Yes, I need a hipbag for it, and the cable runs on the back of my head. But that doesn't bother me much.
Great review as usual Blunty! Also I have no clue why but you seem different in this video, in a good way. Like you are more comfortable/happy, I don't know but whatever it is, it's good. 👍
hey blunty, i was checking the neckband and out and saw like 2 reviews out of the hundreds that it'd make a small buzz for you is this true after a month?
Great video and I did see your other video you mentioned when you started this video. It answered the question why the head set still drained the battery dead when I have a 20000mah battery attached. Output of 5v when head set is using 9v. . Started to look for a 9v battery bank and can only find a combo 5v 12v pack. My question is can I still use a 12v power bank? The strap your reviewing has 5v 9v and 12v options so I'm assuming the answer is yes? Thanks, Mike C.
This... this IS a power bank... that is LITERALLY the job of product I'm talking about. what on earth are you talking about? Did you comment on the wrong video accidentally?! WTF I'm SO FUCKING CONFUSED by this comemnt.
Hey Blunty great video, recently found your channel as I splashed out and got a quest 3. A few videos ago you mentioned a beefy powerbank, are you still doing a video on that? Currently looking for all info on batteries and powerbanks before I finalize a purchase :3
I own a PrismXR Carina W1, which I wear around my waist. It boasts a large 10,000mAh capacity and can charge rapidly at 30WPD. Before I had this, I could typically play 'Dungeons Of Eternity' for nearly 2 hours, but now I can enjoy it for about 5-6 hours. Also I haven't experienced any overheating or buzzing sounds while using it.
It gets warm, but not hot... I am extremely tactically sensitive (it's an Autism thing) - so believe me when I say, if this was a comfort issue, I'd have VERY explicitly described it as such. - in fact, as I said in the video... I am genuinely surprised how comfortable it actually is. Didn't expect it to be.
No Quest 3 battery issues here. I use the JSAUX powered link cable keeps my headset charged all day long and is has a seriously fast data connection. For wireless I have the Aubika headset with built-in 8000 mAh battery which actually charges the headset in use and has no buzzing. The battery is built in can't be swapped though, but for me that's a good thing as you can knock it off accidentally and of course no strange noises.
Yeah. If you say it, probably this neck band can be the best battery pack for the quest 3 at the appropriate circumstances, maybe in most of the cases, I purchased another, even lighter model than this one, but I think I will use that only for hifi bluetooth receivers making them 24 hours compatible, 'cause I think the best solution for quest 3 is a smaller backpack with a 40000 mAh power bank inside. You can get them with 60 - 100 W input - output power at a pretty reasonable price. Just be aware of the props when selecting from them. I don't exactly know what is the max power what the quest 3 can receive the charge with, but those ones will drive it to the max and they will recharge the faster if you have the same fast wall charger. I think that backpack + 40000 mAh power bank (and a fast wall charger to recharge that 40000 mAh) combo is the solution to the quest 3 battery "problem". (You can even have 2 power banks with the same size, to charge one simultaneously while playing with the other. :)
I rarely find myself able to wear a VR headset for more than an hour, the strap and especially the facial interface really hurts my head after longer than that (maybe I'm just doing it wrong, I dunno 🤷🏼♀️) But I do wonder how something like this would do for going on walks and working to keep my phone charged 🤔 possible having a cable dangling down would get in the way but that's a lot better than having a bulky battery bank in your pocket 😅 I'll have to keep this in mind
If you are using the strap that comes with the headset, then its a good idea to get any alternative strap - not the official ones either as they are horribly overpriced. Get anything, literally anything, as that will be better than the one it comes with. Alternatively, if money is a huge issue, put a baseball cap, turned backwards, underneath the strap, that apparently is a no cost fix and may be worth a try.
Bobo VR has a it’s M3 Pro strap with magnetic powerbanks on the back for Quest 3 (also as a retrofit kit from the previous version). It’s expensive but amazingly comfortable and practical. I’m using it with Quest 2 with two powerbanks. Great product.
That is, in fact, one of the common ones that a LOT of users have been complaining about buzzing or hissing on with the quest 3... or simply not maintaining charge properly. I'd avoid it (for now, Bobo have a good rep, I'm sure they'll have it sorted with a new version soon)
@@SzymonAdamus The Quest 3 needs a lot more power to maintain its charge. With my Quest 2 and a USB-A to C cable connected to the PC the headset was only discharging slowly, which was fine for my needs, but with the Quest 3 it is rather quick. A USB-C to C cable solved that. Apparently, the Quest 3 needs around 20-25W of charging power to maintain its charge.
@@BluntyTV I have it with the Quest 3 at the moment and I've been using it daily for the last few weeks. I have 3 batteries packs from BOBOVR (all being the 2.6A variants). I was using 2 of these with my Quest 2 for over a year. The 3rd one came with the new BOBOVR Strap for the Quest 3 (the retrofit kit was out of stock). Personally, I've found it has a buzzing noise with each battery (due to the unsuitable battery voltage it has for how much more power the Quest 3 drains that you mentioned in a different video), albeit I don't find it to be too bad. It's usually quieter than it seems in your videos and I cannot hear it once I have some audio from a VRChat World or Beat Saber playing. And for me, the batteries have lasted at least 1.5 hours each time so cycling between 3 seems to be enough to be able to play as long as I want with Wireless PCVR using Virtual Desktop. 200mbps AV1 10Bit Codec + 120hz on Godlike Settings with my RTX 4080 + Ryzen 7 7800X3D PC Build that I made for myself. (This seems to be consistent for all 3 batteries too in my testing). That's just my experience with what I have though. Hope it's at least useful/interesting to anyone who reads this. (Albeit, if you use the passthrough, it'll be draining faster than the battery packs keep it charged but I rarely ever use that apart from redoing my floor level everytime I turn the headset on before I turn the guardian off.)
I really do appreciate the insight especially your previous buzzing video.. But it is very very HARD for us consumers to trust a product when you are quite literally getting paid to review it..
The fuck are you talking about? This is not a sponsored video, at NO POINT was that stated, I am not "being paid to review it" and EVERY TIME for my entire history of content creation, which is - for the record - closing on on TWO FUCKING DECADES, I have declared, in voice and in on screen text (TWICE in every video, at the opening AND the closing) AND in the description, if a video includes a sponsor. I was provided a product for review, they sent me a thing, and 100% of what happened after that was my choice. and if you think I am a fucking LIAR you can fuck off from here. But I will NOT stand here and have you question my fucking honesty. Cunt.
Why not just get a normal power bank and velcro tie it to the back of the strap instead of putting some weird battery thing around the neck? A power bank at the back also acts as a nice counter balance and makes using a headset more comfortable. This neck thing is just...weird.

I like this guy. You, sir, are informative, quirky, and entertaining. A well deserved subscribe!
Love this neck battery, just ordered an extra battery to swap out for longer sessions.

10:00 It likely stays at 91% because the Quest 3 charges faster when the internal battery is below that threshold, then it charges slower above that.
Blunty your videos are the best ive been watching you for years.

8:24 Haha didn’t look goofy at all, it’s good to see you can still move with the best of them👍🏽👍🏽
Good motion in normal speed. Smooth water physics in slow mo. Very nice
Blunty has some moves lmao
That's one way to describe it I suppose.
Hi Blunty, Thank you. You are now my personel go to guy for Meta 3 Hardware purchases. Please, please keep going.
I'ma subscribe cuz I just got a quest 3 and so far I haven't watched anyone else review anything other than you
Great recommendation, bought this battery and very happy with it 👍
I use the Anker Power core 30w.... And the Kiwi Design 3n1 battery strap. It charges my headset while playing, no problem.

I've got one of those generic battery straps from Aliexpress and is thankfully working without a flaw so far, with no buzz and or charging problems.
Looks great, very tempted. Is the cable long enough to turn your head fully to the left? Length looks close to the turn limit…
Great review thanks 🙏!

Constant use since this video. Zero issues.
Im VERY surprised they don't make this neck battery with fans built in. Perfectly missed opportunity. If they did I would buy one without hesitation.
I've worn neck-band fans... I do not want that. the noise is agonizingly annoying. Fans small enough for that will always be shit.
Zyber has a strap with an attachable battery, i wonder if theirs buzzes
Just ordered a quest 3 and this neckband battery. Is a headstrap really necessary for comfort or just a nice to have?
I would strongly advise a head-strap replacement. The in box one is, frustratingly, quite bad ua-cam.com/video/LFkZ1bop33Q/v-deo.html

When the quest 3 is charging with powerbank, will it still using power from the internal battery or switch to powerbank instead?
Please watch the video.
Wouldn't a power bank work better? Small with a long cable and off to VR land, plus they're generally cheaper

just ordered mine after being bummed i had to charge my quest 3 twice yesterday while playing

How much play time can we expect with Q3 fully charged and battery pack fully charged and connected to Q3?
That information is clearly stated in the video. please watch first THEN ask questions that don't already have answers.
Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me how big the cyberVR neck battery is if that’s okay😅
I did. Please watch the video ~THEN~ ask questions (that haven't already been addressed). Save us both some time ;)

Absolutely no stock
And it's unavailable on Amazon.
Just out of stock on the US amazon I think, Aus amazon still has it... you could also try their website storefront directly.
Available in Germany
It's available on UK Amazon, in white and black.
Yeah, no, you don't play D&D... Yeah, you also have no DM experience 😂
Still prefer binbok.
Ok. Care to share why? more useful comment that way.
