One cool thing with having Netflix in the browser and having the UA-cam app on the Q3 is that you can watch movies and videos in ANY environment, I have watched Netflix within my favorite games like a base in No Mans Sky, the apartment in Half Life Alyx, the penthouse in Hubris and favorite worlds in VR chat. Any place can turn into your personal cinema 😁
@@jeffreyschmidt3997 Absolutely, regardless of whether I'm running a game directly from the Quest 3 or the PCVR, if I press the menu button (the one on the right controller) where I can select apps or end the one that's running. There I can select UA-cam or, for example, Meta's built-in browser and select Netflix. You can't move while watching, however, but it's perfectly possible to start up multiple screens just as if you were in Meta's home environment in any game. Hope that clarified a bit.
After gaming, watching entertainment is the other reason I love Q3. I watch Netflix in mixed reality and have the huge screen above my IRL tv whilst I watch the NFL, premier league or motor racing on my actual tv. It’s actually amazing!
So you're watching a movie at the same time as you're watching sports? I don't know if that's good for your mind though LOL probably need to go easier on yourself.
Is the picture not bad on the tv wen looking at it with pass through, why not just open a second tab and watch whatever ur watching directly from ur quest 3

Watching sports, movies, and shows is great on the Quest 3, especially with lay-down mode. I’ll connect some earbuds, throw on a football match in progress, and get a great immersive experience.
One thing to know that you didn't mentioned about watching media from the browser is that if you're in a VR environment the battery will last a lot longer than in MR !
@@roozbehabbasi2497 On quest 3 the screen resolution is pretty good, the pixels are only really noticeable when looking at an area with only one color or relatively small text and the lenses are great so movie subtitles are perfectly fine. On quest 2/3S the screen is only slightly less good so subtitles are still big enough to be easy to read but the smaller sweet spot of the lenses makes the sides of the virtual screen a bit blurry so watching movies with subtitles is definitely possible but it's more comfortable without :)
I would like to see a video going over comfortable headstraps for laying back and watching a movie. I use a BoboVR S3Pro with battery pack and it is awesome..... except for when I want to recline back in my lounge chair to watch content instead of game.
I find the original strap that came with the quest 3 is very well suited for watching content while laying back, because it doesn't have anything sticking out of its back.
I agree for the Quest 3 but the Quest 3S has such a narrow sweetspot that watching movies (especially with subtitles) and anything to do with remote desktop work is honestly somewhere between not enjoyable and awful. With some VR headsets I feel like it was in the early days of Android, when reviewers just chose to ignore the bad performance and constant stutter. With VR Headsets, they chose to keep the issue of the super narrow sweetspot from potential buyers and I think that's is not a good way to do reviews.
The Quest 3 has a significantly higher display PPI and better lenses than the Quest 3s, it's just to be expected. Though for the price the 3s isn't bad for gaming, though for movie watching and productivity, the regular 3 is far better.

It sounds like you really don't have it adjusted properly for your eyes. If you are looking farther to the left and right than just turn your head a little rather than just use your eyes.
@@bruceatkinson6438 Defending an obvious flaw in a technology by blaming the user is something I never understood why some tech people tend to do that. I have adjusted it perfectly, thank you. The middle of my vision is very clear but as you know the sweetspot on VR goggles with fresnel lenses is super narrow which makes them not good devices for any application in which one would prefer having a whole screen sharp instead of only a tiny spot where they had to move their head all the time. That makes those lenses suck for movies and productivity. Like on a movie I have my eyes on the middle of the screen in look at the subtitles with peripheral vision at best. That doesn't work if that vision is blurry.
the PSVR2 uses the same type of lenses as the Quest 3S. So same narrow sweet spot. I’d go for anything with pancake lenses, like the Quest 3. Plus, I think a standalone headset is much preferred against something bound to a console or PC

Some people don’t have $2k or more for a 100 inch or larger tv, also in setting like dorm rooms and people with large families where multiple kids are in the same room or even adults in the bedroom and people having different taste in tv shows and movies it’s nice to get a 130 inch tv to watch all by yourself while you lay down

I got mine 2 days ago, never had any VR anything, I'm in my mid 40s and the quest 3 is awesome. From basic games to some fit girl repacks thru steam link I've enjoyed them all. Had to do some adjustments to get it working with my victus r5 with the rtx 4050 but so far almost everything works, no audio thru the goggles using air link tho, still trying to figure it out but it's hooked to the surround sound so not too big of a deal. BUY THE QUEST 3!
Quest 2 and quest 3s are very good options if you want to start, could be times that you leave the quest on a shelf for a time, and grab it and continue the cycle. That happen with quest 3. Pretty common. Also you may need spend an extra for a strap (bobovr makes some of the best) and a battery expansion. I can extend the battery life on quest 2 up to 6 hours with 2 bobovr batt with the M2 pro (old version) the new one and better is the S3 pro.

There isn't Quest 3 is a single person device The only way to use with your family is buying multiple headsets, then you can play certain games together

VR games are tons of fun, but sometimes it's nice to veg out on the couch and play traditional games, but with the added benefit of feeling like we're in the same room together with VR. I'm wondering specifically if there's a way to spoof couch coop/split screen games, or if there's a way for him to see his screen and me to see mine if we have to play a game on seperate devices.
I’ve been looking into watching 3d movies on quest, but no luck so far. I rented a 3d movie from fandango at home but it said quest wasn’t compatible, it seems I have to buy a portable blu ray player to connect to my pc.
It is a damn SHAME that Bigscreen hasn't been debugged and fully developed. It would be worth paying money for. It works, OK - and I enjoy it. But it could be THE VR spot for many.

are you talking about conventional 3D like in the cinemas back in the day OR are you talking about 360° video? Those are two different things. There is not a single feature length film i know of that is shot in 360° format.
You can upload your own files to the headset.....the headsets themselves can be temperamental when it comes to maintaining a WI-FI connection so uploading from your pc the things you want to watch is a good option.
I really wish there was a way to watch 3D movies like Avatar… and I don’t mean the complete ridiculous gimmicks like big screen where you have to watch it with other annoying people messing up your experience

Can someone tell me the point of watching a movie in 2024 on a device that doesn’t even support DV or HDR? I have a quest 3 but I have been reluctant using it for movie watching for this reason.

Bad video as it might mislead someone into buying a VR headset specifically to watch movies and video. The best VR goggles on the planet don't come even remotely close to a real display in terms of image quality.
Sorry but this video is pretty much bullshit as netflix is the only really usable streaming service you can use from the browser as all the the other ones limit teh streaming resolution to point where it just hurts to watch it, the new amazon prime app is noticely better then the browser one and still only supports 720p which if you want to watch it on a big screen is not enough and looks bad, its even worse for disney plus, as they dont have an app and the broser restricts the resolution to an unwatchable level. So watching Movies on Quest is possible with decent or at least decent enough quality but with netflix as the only exeption its not an easy solution! The best ways are something like a fire tv stick using HDMI Link, or Ripped BluRays...
Haha that might be the case with some but Netflix, prime, Disney+ and UA-cam all worked for me perfectly. I can not speak for USA streaming services as I can not try from the UK.

Try 4XVR with some true 50-80 GBs 4K Blu-Ray rips and you will get the best quality you can get with the Quest 3.

I downloaded prime app on quest 3 last night and was watching the last episode of The Grand Tour and it was streaming at 1080p it said.
