I thought “Hell’s waiting room” had more to do with the motto of the ODSTs: “Feet first into hell” which was both bravado and a reference to the (proportionally) high failure rate of the drop pods.
I’ve always wanted to be given visual insight on what a UNSC planetary airbase would be/look like. It’s likely that they have them because of the military still having a “Wet Navy” and military bases with landing fields like Halo 3’s multiplayer map, The Pit. (in Halo: Reach’s/Halo 2 Anniversary’s art style and in the 2552 timeline)I can see a massive aerial landing field that spreads for miles holding rows and rows of spaced out landed shortswords, longswords, pelicans, darters, hornets, hawks, and falcons spreading along the massive airfield in sections with wide open runways not for taking off, but for vehicle and personnel transportation, and including towing pathways. There would probably be a central command building accompanied by sections of barracks and large hangars spread out along the airfield, including an air traffic control tower that would also be around its area. In some other areas of the airfield along the runways would probably be elevator pads to accessibly transport aircraft and landcraft from within underground hangars and garages below the airbase to the surface and from the surface back underground. A bit a ways away from the central section of the airbase might probably be a radar station that is surrounded by transport runways and garages to house surface supplies not stored underground within the airbase and outposts that would have elevators for personnel and small supply vehicles to use for surface-subsurface access. Along the far perimeters of the expansive airfield and airbase altogether would be Scythe AA and Lance GMWS battery platforms jointed with small airview outposts positioned near them for perimeter visual observation. I also assume that the base would be outfitted with multiple air raid sirens that would sound if invading Covenant cruisers deployed seraphs, banshees, phantoms, and spirits onto the airbase’s position. If the base were under attack, I also assume that such an event would have Covenant aircraft bomb as many stored UNSC aircraft as possible while also aiming to knock out its AA platforms, and its radar and communications array(s) so that contact with an orbiting Human fleet is lost and a deployment of invading infantry forces could be sent in from dropships to gain control of the airfield’s location for strategic battle positions.

Will there be a Phoenix class wartime refit breakdown? I'd like to hear more about those behemoth ships. Also. With earth's current resources. Would it be possible to build a serviceable fleet of UNSC style frigates for colonization or travel in the sol system?
Kou Her well, our big hurtle would be the present lack of a FTL drive of any sort. Apart from that, it’d be a space race version 2(or 3, depending on how the race for Mars goes) as nations build up to the ability to colonize planets, as I personally don’t see a single earth government happening until much later. This would mean that the amount of money a single nation would need to put into this would make it impossible in the terms of politics as no politician in their right mind would probably go for it unless they realized Earth’s need to have us leave in order to let it recover from our destruction.
@@vridiantoast7096This is a concept I could imagine.1 ship per nation? Maybe. FTL not mandatory, impulse or burst engines ok for now. Just imagining anything for extraplanetary travel that can conventionally defend itself. That humanity can reasonably build/upkeep and crew with our current tech and resources.
What do you mean by resources? If you mean pure metal, yes. There are better designs for colonisation though. Another thing to consider, you don't want to be shipping stuff into space. Everything you need apart from crew can be found in space, much easier to access than on Earth. The asteroid belt and assorted comets contains many quadrillion tons of material. As for extra-solar colonisation, I think we'll see all the little rocks colonised before any people try to leave the solar system. That might take thousands of years.
VainerCactus 0 agreed. If we can get those resources from the belt it would be great, but I see the main hurtle with that as the propulsion system that we use now, apart from our very basic ion engines, are not efficient enough for the long missions that mining entails. I could always be wrong, as I am no expert in any way. As for the ion engines, if we could scale up the size of the engines without losing the efficiency that would be ideal until we can get a better system. I don’t see the ion engines of Star Wars;that being the TIE, and not the Y-Wing or ETA-2 or V-wing;being around any time soon.
@@vridiantoast7096 Ion engines are very efficient. They just don't have much thrust. They can be powered with solar panels, but if you're far from the sun, you'll want something else to power your ship. Basically, Ion engines are super efficient, but they will take months to produce the same change in speed as a chemical engine. Fine for automated mining I guess. I do think some kind of nuclear fusion engine would be a big improvement though. As for the Star Wars ion engines, that is just a scifi technobabble name. Those engines bear no resemblance to an actual ion engine. Another thing we could do in the short term is mine the moon. There is no atmosphere to stop us using railguns to fire packets of refined materials in the general direction of some kid of magnetic tether near Earth. We could also build a space elevator on the moon right now, just in case you're worried about having a railgun on the moon pointing near Earth. I highly recommend checking out Isaac Arthur on UA-cam. Specifically his Upward Bound series. ua-cam.com/channels/ZFipeZtQM5CKUjx6grh54g.html He does a lot of Awesome "science and Futurism" type content.

I suspect the stalwart class has its Mac mounted in the upper boom due to it likely being incredibly heavy compared to the rest of the ship, thus putting the center of mass in line with the thrusters. If the center of mass is out of line, the ship would flip over, due to thrust being applied at the top in this case, and if the Mac was mounted lower, the center of mass would be lower, causing it to flip rear over front.
bruh instant fucking sub this video is god tier, just the starting segment about the material the ship is made out of was somehow super informative and still entertaining.
They couldn't, the conditions of backburning was getter harder by the year. That's why the build up & what lead to it today. Land managers & firefighters have been saying this for a while now.
The frigate class is so highly undercooked and underrated. I hope in the future we see actual ship collectable models of the notable figures like the In Amber Clad, and the Charon class frigate: Forward Unto Dawn
You'd think the writers at some point would have worked in some would have worked in some sort of ceramic/polymer coating spray on armor given the covenant fight with plasma weaponry. Titanium may resist high heat but once it is melted metal armor just adds to your problem as more molten material is made with each hit. Some to disperse the heat over a much larger surface area before it hits metal seems obvious.

12:24 I just realised the front of the frigates look alot like 2 big magnum slides
BarredBiscuit76 halo 1 pistol is a MAC
dallin prisbrey 2 MACS for shields, 1 Mac for the final shot.
Simply have your anti-tank weapon to be a very small handheld Super MAC...
@@Prizz419 Umm, no. The M6D, the magnum from Halo 1, is not a MAC. It uses 12.7x40mm M225 Semi-Armor-Piercing High-Explosive rounds. It's just a normal gun.
@@randomlyentertaining8287 that joke flew over your head faster than the speed of slipspace
Say, how would scale the weapons for the ships with your 2.65 times size increase video? The size inconsistencies video?

He does a lot of Awesome "science and Futurism" type content.
The ship just looks like a bloody gun with bridge being the scope
that's a lot of the UNSC ships lol. they look like a gun since the ship is basically a MAC Cannon with engines built around it.
it is a huge gun
It's literally a coil gun
Most UNSC ships are like the A-10 Thunderbolt II, or Warthog: a plane, or in this case ship, designed around a giant cannon.
Humans have always first made the biggest weapon they can out of something then other people learn how to farm with it.
I love these in depth ship breakdowns. It just speaks to the lore freak that I am. Also the bit about fusion reactors using a reverse particle accelerator for energy conversion is fascinating. On a related note I really hope that ITER finally breaks the dreaded Q = 1.
Thank you for supporting our firefighters it's quite scary and it's awesome to see a content creator like yourself doing something like you did
I really thank you for telling everyone about the Australian bushfires
This one my favorite ships, i wish we had more interior shots of it from hanger pay, engine room, to crew quarters, and mess hall. The stalwart always been my favorite ship, i still like others but this one always hold a special place in my heart.
I thank you as no one really in other countries address this issue that we experience in south east Australia... this shouldn't go unnoticed and the fact that someone who doesn't even feel our struggles is helping
.. thank you and all who have donated!
Hi mate, thanks for the great content you provide. More importantly, thank you for thinking of us here in Australia. your support means a hell of a lot to us
i love you dude. i am an a Aussie, haven't been directly affected by the fires. but i know many of my fellow Aussies have been. Thankyou so much. our firefighters and those affected would be grateful. your a good man. (also your series is bloody awesome, your channel the same) Keep this up mate!
1 hour and no dislikes so far I see this as an absolute win... and you've pleased the community
As always, excellent video and thank you for the shout out to the bushfire fund raisers.
Much love from down under ❤️🇦🇺
You should do the Halberd-class destroyer next. Despite being around the same length of the Stalwart it was twice as massive. Sporting oversized arcade missile pods and a lot more armor
I've always liked your vids, but when you mentioned the Aussie fires you struck a cord home for me. As an Aussie witnessing his own home burn down, my heart is shattered. However I am glad that you and many others are willing to help support us, whether that is donation or sharing where people can donate. On behalf of all Australians, Thank you 00. You've definitely earned my absolute respect
More of these. The ships. Do more of these detailed videos on the various ships. This kind of stuff is great. And it's not something you'll see on Spacedock, a half hour to an hour long video on one ship. This is truly appreciated. 👍💯
I love that the UNSC's ships are just giant guns with engines.
As an engineer working in metal stamping with a background in materials. Your explanations of material science and metal alloys is much appreciated!
single crystal superalloys are utilized in the hot section of jet engines, for example, where the blades and vanes withstand temperatures hotter than their melting points. the way they're cast and engineered ensures that they don't melt, and that they stay a viable alternative to ceramics in this area of aerospace. it also gives me job security.
Cheers for the shout out about the fires mate. Unfortunately we really do need the word out there to get the help 😢
Keep up the good work, top bloke 👍
It's finally here! Thank you so much for the vid
Very cool for spreading awareness of bush fires!
This was a great video. I love the schematic pics you used for the breakdown. It was new to think of the hull as being like a sort of bullet proof vest for the ship, and it gave me a slightly more appreciative view of the ship and its capabilities. Love the look of her, much like ships from stargate she looks very......human artistic but straight to the point. Agree on the size, the remasters gave a really solid starting point at which to gauge better senses of size and scale of ships and other object's in halo. Again, this was beast.
Could you do a most detailed video on the Infinity and SPARTAN-IV augmentations?
That video would be infinitely long
I'm Australian, it's not just the south-east, it's the entire country. Fires are all around. You've just done more than our government. Thank You!
I'd love to see and in depth view of the Prowler classes or an in depth on the 'Point of No Return' which was a stealth cruiser one of a kind.
Please do one of these about the cas assault carrier or any other type of covenant ship
Can you explain the Frigates that deploy from the UNSC Infinity?
Honestly Thanks mate and to everyone who’s helping support us with the fires, and bloody scot Morrison “Sco-Mo” taking a couple millions away from the firefighters pay and not even been on Australian ground..
Thanks for the shout out for the fires here in Australia you do great work mate appreciate it
I wish someone would take your breakdown and put animation so we can see exactly what you are saying step by step. Show AND tell.
Just got back from work and i get blessed with a new 00 in depth video gonna be a good night.
I just want to say, I absolutely love your content. I've always wanted someone to go insanely into detail about things in the Halo lore like some do in the lore of franchises like Star Wars and Star Trek. I also love how these detailed breakdowns give a sense of realism to the setting, making it more immersive. Videos like this take the concepts presented to us and help them seem so much more tangible and believable.
And as someone who has been vocal about their distaste for how much of the Halo lore has been handled in recent years, content like yours helps keep the passion I have for Halo positive, rather than me just being frustrated about say, Halo 5 or how Halsey was treated in the Karen Traviss books lol
as a Man from Australia here i thank you for your shoutout-like comment for Australian firefighters, i'm based more in the southern region of Australia myself, so i don't have it nearly as bad as they do but still i thank you.

Man I love these videos that talk about sci-fi ships in great detail no matter the universe they come from
Could the Silentium Flood create large pure forms that operate and move in space as large ships and also graveminds to lead the Flood forces like the Tyranids can?
Thor's Hammer doubt that; there is only ever one grave mind at a time in each galaxy, which slowly approaches the status of key mind
@@kaelanirevyruun1676
During Silentium weren't there dozens of Keyminds already because the Flood had infected millions of planets? Would they have been able to make massive pure forms that traveled through space?
I think ship breakdowns are my favourite thing you do. I really love these. You're the best!
I know making these must be a strain on your sanity, but if you were ever to make another, I'd be over the moon if you did a prowler, or any kind of stealth ship.
Fascinating info about the armor plating. Single-crystal 4Al2.5V1.5Fe titanium sounds crazy-strong, and I already have experience with 6Al4V titanium, which is pretty damn strong already.
This is amazing, reminds me of so many other topics I enjoy and gives the depth the lore needs to keep my interest as an adult
man I just wanna say thanks for talking about the bushfires. Been doing a bit a volunteering and it's pretty devastating to watch all the people come out
I love the material science aspects of this, just recently took some courses and I just love seeing applied sciences as an engineer
Awesome video as usual. Thank you for mentioning the fires down here in Aus, for raising awareness.
They are just so well designed and realistic.
I don't go into lore videos expecting to learn actual science. A surprise, but a welcome one to be sure. Good job!
I was wondering also.
Thanks, this’ll be great reference for my next space engineers build.
You are a Saint, thank you for bringing awareness to the destruction of my country
bruh instant fucking sub this video is god tier, just the starting segment about the material the ship is made out of was somehow super informative and still entertaining.
Policies prevented people from making fire breaks and fire fuel was allowed to build up instead of being dealt with
Yes, so many people don't understand this.
They couldn't, the conditions of backburning was getter harder by the year. That's why the build up & what lead to it today. Land managers & firefighters have been saying this for a while now.
God, I hope to see more of this for every ship from both the UNSC and Covenant. Halo ship lore is so damn awesome and it deserves this kind of love
you earned a sub off your support to the fire department alone sir. well done.... well done.
Awesome video! Ive been waiting anxiously for your detailed breakdown. I would love to see one on the Halberd class destroyer!

This was very interesting to watch. Good job with the video.
I love the old UNSC Frigate design! just feel like ww2 British Cromwell or comet tank! I know the new Frigate design is more effective...
You should do the Paris class heavy frigate as well.
God i want most detailed on the infinity, CAS, CSO, and the rest of the large unsc ships like the punic, epoch, and valiant. These are great videos
You are unbelievably amazing, can't wait to see when you do a video on Forerunner and Ancient Human ships.
Great content as usual. One gripe through. MAC cannon. Magnetic Accelerator Cannon cannon
The frigate class is so highly undercooked and underrated. I hope in the future we see actual ship collectable models of the notable figures like the In Amber Clad, and the Charon class frigate: Forward Unto Dawn
Thankyou for the mention about fires man!
This actually exists in Halo Wars, as Ceramic Armor for the Elephant.
Resisting 8,000+ degrees celsius isn't an easy feat, better to have no armour.
Frigate class ship is my favourite human spaceship in any game.
It's design, functionality and armourment are so badass.
Actually, as of yesterday, the official death toll has risen to 24. Oh and we’re also approaching the same amount of damage as Black Saturday... The most famous bushfire crisis in history.

I love this ship and any information about how the inside looks would be greatly appreciated and will help with my 1 to 1 scale of the ship on Halo Reach's Forge World.
Edit: Thank you Installation00, this video gave me more understanding of the interior of this frigate, once I get the chance to get onto Reach on the MCC for the PC I'll be updating my Paris Class Heavy Frigate's interior to match the specifications of the Stalwart Class's, I'm hoping that the MAC will be one of the only difference between other classes of frigates, that and size.
I'm very glad I kept that map in my fileshare far before my 360 broke and Reach on PC was announced, hopefully it was transferred over to the PC as other game modes and custom maps have; and with mods that rid forge players of budget, I'm very optimistic that I can do much more with my project.

If it successfully transferred, I'll let you know.
On 360 it is under "Paris Class Heavy Frigate" in the fileshare tags, belonging to one wubbalubbasam, which is my account.
Feel free to play with it, some game modes might need tweeking and I'm not sure if I saved the version with objectives, weapons and vehicles but if I did, have fun!
And to any modders out there on PC, if you can find it go nuts, the interior was extremely empty, leaving room for interior corridors and spaces, if you beat me to fixing it up I won't be mad.
