    Great video. I do not latch on to my dates at all. Then I finally met one man I truly connected. Then I managed to screw things up with my anxious relationship style. So weird how that kicks in when you finally meet someone you’re digging.

      Well that's the definition of anxiety. You're afraid of losing the one person or thing that can take care of you or make you happy in a meaningful way.
      Of course you're gonna freak out and try to control things to try to keep them in your life.

    Yes, the trait I loved most in my ex was his ability to make me feel safe. No feelings of safety, no respect. No respect, no love.

    I know you are a busy guy, but you need to write a book for people BEFORE they go into relationship with your information. I wish I had known a lot of your teachings BEFORE some of my dating and relationships.

      Hang in there, and be strong. Time is your friend, investn in yourself and understand how much this pain, moment and phase will help you evolve even more. It hurs, stings, depressing, etc.. Trust me I know. But your happiness is the key and understand YOU are the one and only one who can help you in the long term.

    I've dated guys where I wanted to take things slowly to get to know them. And by the 3rd date they start insulting me or making me jealous talking about other girls. They later tell me that they did that because I didn't show enough interest and that I don't care. This happening within 2-3 dates. What could've been a great relationship starts off with insecurities and hurtful behavior. I should've stopped at that point instead of giving them the benefit of the doubt and continuing. Would've saved me heartache.

    • @jhonjohnjonjondoe5011
      @jhonjohnjonjondoe5011 5 років тому

      wow amazing did you really get jealous? I think you shouldn't have and you should of told him maybe you should go be with them girls you talking about then. Men are terrible t body language so your body language might of showed high interest but because you were not verbally telling them how you feel they felt insecure. Congrats you weeded out the insecure men.

      AVOIDANT and Anxious/ Disaster. Heart broken disaster, and AVOIDANT bury their feelings so you know who was left with all the pain. And I was never told anything about this disorder he has so I was truly thrownaback by his WITHDRAWING behavior and stopped sex, kissing, touching, holding hands etc. text, calls from on 100 to 0.5%. I kept asking was there something bothering him. He say nah. We good. Ok. So He just stopped answering phone for days. Small things I asked him to do. He never did. I ask again, not done... oh so he can't do anything for you either because he believes at this stage in the relationship, every body should be SELF sufficient and needing others is a sign of weakness, I verbally went in on his behavior and Omg. I was not nice. He turned into a monster, ok. Like he never knew me and said he has NO FEELINGS. BLOCKED ME AND WENT ON LIKECI NEVER EXISTED

    Can’t stay in the moment when it’s long distance! It doesn’t work! Heartache just continues over time! You will always stay disconnected because there is no connection! I texted my ex all night long for lots of nights because he was ignoring me! This man is 57 has never been married. Doesn’t have a home, lives with his mother and he thinks he is the ego, narcissistic person that knows everything! He says all his exes always still text him! I don’t believe him! He is the most insecure man I have known! He’s the most manipulative person and doesn’t want to burn any bridges! I feel he has used me for the past 8 years! You can’t feel safe when they are 5 hours away!

    if we cant think of a person that we are dating as someone who can gratify our needs, then who is supposed to gratify our needs if not them?? i know you'll say its us but what if the person we are dating, has alot of the qualities that we are looking for in a partner? are we not allowed to fantasize on potentially having them as a romantic partner?

    • @sshuteandrew
      @sshuteandrew 6 років тому +2

      vanessa v. I think it’s normal and healthy to expect your partner to meet your needs while you meet their needs. The problem lies in expecting your partner to meet all your needs, placing them on a pedestal and expecting the partner to be responsible for own happiness- which of course is unrealistic and unfair to our partner. Also, that kind of pressure placed on a partner can cause them to run away.

    • @6thmercury
      @6thmercury 6 років тому

      i agree but some dont know that to just expect all or nothing. Some is good whereas all isnt realistic like you said.

    Are long distance relationships even relationships or just some weird fantasty play? I get it If it's like love on first sight and life tragically forces you apart but people are building entire relationships with people they don't even know. It's kinda crazy If you ask me.

    A woman sleeping in your bed showing a high level of attraction and desire to hook up, you get to the foreplay and suddenly hit the brakes. I think there’s gotta be more going on here, something just seems off. Normally a guy is going to hook up and make her his lover. It’s one of the greatest things in life. There’s definitely not going to be any anxiety the next morning after a night like that.

    • @Sarablueunicorn
      @Sarablueunicorn 4 роки тому +1

      I've crashed many guys beds before without feeling high level of attraction or intended to hook up, I just felt comfortable enough to sleep there, not threatened.

    Mid 40's, too nice guy syndrome, too soft, doesn't know when to escalate things. As an older man, he should already know about seduction. Hes more emotional than the woman. He needs to work on cultivating his masculinity and seduction skills. Also, does he realize that in 20 years he'll be in his mid 60's and her in her mid 40's? This is recipe for disaster as a long term relationship. A short fling yes. long term no.

    18:35 I'm a little confused. She reminds him that "they're just talking and not married" and that he's "coming onto her too strong". He subsequently backs off and gives her some space. She then says "you're pushing me away".
    How is the guy at fault in that situation when he's seemingly giving her what she was asking for, which was for him to just ease up a bit?

    • @jhonjohnjonjondoe5011
      @jhonjohnjonjondoe5011 5 років тому +1

      because he was supposed to pull all the way back and go no contact. That also means don't be a butt hurt little boy at work and don't be around her trynna let her see you sad. That is trynna put a guilt trip on her in to being with him. When a women is telling you those things just pull back and let her come to you. That would of never happened had he fucked her and only hit her up one to 2 times a week.

    a guy hopping in bed w a woman so soon is a huge turnoff. that’s what happened. “a tall glass of you” is so cringe but I think she was cringing inside and didn’t want to say her real answer (which was probably “nothing, don’t bother”) also women don’t say cheesy things like that or try hard to flirt, so that’s unnatural, she was trying but then couldn’t bring herself to continue
