He had the nerve to call it BORING? As if his own movie Exorcist III isn't any boring? Nothing really exciting happens until the end portion when the fake nurse attacks Kinderman's family and when Father Morning arrives to exorcise the demon. His movie is mostly a slow burn for two acts. Exorcist II has some nice action happening throughout it from beginning to end so clearly he doesn't know what he's talking about.
Brad Dourif should've gotten an Oscar for this role. Scariest possessed character in the history of film. The depth, the intensity. I learned the "Death, be not proud" Shakespeare quote from this film, once wrote it on a postcard in a drunken whim when on a holiday trip and sent it for fun to my girlfriend, friends at home freaked out and thought I was losing it. I thought it was darkly beautiful and profound poetry, still do.
@@captainhowdy3608 Blatty always sprinkled his movies with great dryly comedic lines, even The Exorcist had some. That one reminds me of something my grandparents used to say: "It's the living you have to be wary of, not the dead" I think Blatty would have approved of that one 😎
Thank you so much for this Stacy!! One of my favorite horror movies and I adore George C. Scott. I love his mannerisms and his etiquette with language in this film.
He's good with Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Tommy Lee Jones in Eyes of Laura Mars, Jennifer Tilly in the Chucky films, Marlon Wayans in Senseless, and Graveyard Shift with David Andrews.
You hero! Was looking up Exorcist 3 and stumbled across your channel and am now binge-watching the lot- thank you 😊 PS. The scene in the confessional (at the beginning)is so creepy...
I rewatched Psycho recently and am convinced her vocal performance in that scene was influenced by the voice of Norman Bates's mother, give it a listen.. A funny note is that Dewhurst was twice divorced from George C Scott!!
Brad Dourif really gonna sit there and call The Heretic the biggest piece of shit ever made, when he was in Rob Zombie's Halloween 2? I kid I kid. I love all of The Exorcist movies...and YES even Heretic. I get it wasn't what most folks wanted, but as a stand alone movie, it's rather beautiful. The switch in tone from The Exorcist was just too drastic. But part 3 is PERFECT.
@@saggest I shouldn't waste my time with a response but I will go ahead anyway... In H1. Myers was about 5'11'' tall and then in H2, he suddenly became 6'2'' with the long neck.
@@hector-sauvage Yeah, but he looked like he was in his 40s there, so you'd think in about 25+ years he'd look in his 60s but he looks his actual age which means he doubly aged during this time.
All these people tip toeing around talking bad about exorcist 2.....except my guy Brad Dourif "it was the biggest piece of shit maybe ever made" 😆😆😆....bravo Brad...and that chick who plays Nurse Keating really loves to talk.
Not disturbing? Even if one doesn’t find it scary (it is to a lot of people), it’s definitely disturbing - whether it’s the demon making Regan do certain things to herself or her going through the medical procedures.
I like how blunt Brad Dourif is about what he thinks about "The Heretic".
Tim Burton wanted to cast Brad Douirf as The Joker in 1989's Batman, but Warner Bros wanted Jack Nicholson for The Joker, and it worked.

Death Be Not Proud is not Shakespeare, it was written by John Donne.
LOVE this movie. One of my favorites. A totally underrated film.
Thanks for this documentary! This odd little film deserves the background details that the documentary presents and elaborates.
Best Movie EVER!!!
“I think the dead should shut up unless there’s something to say”
A brilliant line...

I could hear Brad Dourif talk about really bad movies all day.

Here's to William Peter Blatty. God bless his soul.
Brad doesn’t mince his words about Heretic
Ron Swanson He speaks Truth

It was the actress Colleen Dewhurst that did the voice. Although she was not in the credits.

And he's really gonna call that movie as if his movie had any more action in it? Slow burn at its finest so he needs to sit down.
A brilliant film. It has a few flaws but still, a great film.
Name one flaw
@@saggest Well first of all, it wasn't directed by JC... Second of all, how did Mike grow such a long neck? It must have been the fall.

Mike's long neck ?

Exocist iii almost as scary as the original.😱👹
"That one's gotta go"
Man, the big scissors guy really aged like hell !
It's pretty shocking.
Not really, he was in his 60's at the time they made the movie, so was well into his 80's here. It awaits us all, if we're lucky lol..
@@hector-sauvage Indeed, but he did aged a lot anyway. We seem to forget how old the movies we love are sometimes.

i remember the only way i could fall asleep as a child was by playing the movie the exocist.
Exorcist is not scary at all. Not disturbing at all. Stupid and melodramatic reactions like fainting and throwing up.
Exorcist 3 is great.
You're opinion is meaningless, and no one cares about you in any way.
