Damn near perfect film. I quite like the theatrical ending. It's dynamic, looks terrific, both Scott and Miller kill every moment with their flawless performances, and I love how Kinderman ends it all by shooting Karas. Plus, while the death of Morning might be over the top and not subtle, visually it's perfect. As others have mentioned, my only lingering disappointment in the finale is that we don't see Gemini again, though I get why Dourrif wasn't in it. His work in the film is phenomenal!
I think the reshoots were definitely needed. The theatrical version did to me what was intended to do! Creep me out with nightmarish horror! This film haunted me for. Months ater watching it. I consider it superior to the original. The 'morphing from Brad Dourif to Jason Miller to the Demonic entity was fucking jesus! A saw the raw footage, boring, this film and Brad's performance only get better with time. My only fault in this film is the motivation of the Gemini kilker/ The demon. You wanted to press to spread the news that the gemini killer wasn't dead and that true evil exists? Impossible! Demon, it wasn't that you were killing that was your problem. It was who that was! You were killing nobodies, no one of importance. Or the you weren't killing enough! A street kid, a priest and a nurse! No one that would've been cover in a 1 minute by line on the evening news or small blurb in some newspaper! The Demon didn't take into account of the apathy and non belief of people.Brad, Jason and the stand in was seamlessly crafted!
what are these guys talking about? Blatty was only a novelist...he had never directed features before...gtfoh Legion is creepier and the dialogue is much more meaningful with the train conductor impression. The theatrical cut comes off as over the top imo but Brad never fails a performance so he's always great.
The best parts of this picture were the ones William Peter Blatty directed. The reshoots feel out of place and tacked on. So I don't know what the hell these guys are talking about.
I'm so glad people are starting to realize how excellent this movie was
herbert story it should’ve been named “Legion”
Yeah. Me too.
@@RyanS881 but it's for the workprint of Exorcist 3.
The makeup effects people on Exorcist 3 were amazing. They had very great things that worked on the film.
Damn near perfect film.
