Definitely if you enjoy interactive stories, exploring different Star Wars planets, and want some online components to play with friends such as PvP and PvE.
Most definitely I have been playing since 2012 on and off but came back to game after a year or so hiatus that was around when the fallen empire update and I have loved the content since. sure there are some improvements that could be made but it's held up for its duration. I love sith warrior/assassin as starting style
something I really like about the expansions (at least the two eternal throne ones) is that your choices matter more, like certain choices can have followers leave you, die, or betray you
Was there at launch. Started a guild for casuals then a bunch of people I knew from Warcraft wanted to play so the guild expanded out to have two teams for Operations, so had a great mix of casuals and raiders. Started out extremely well with oceanic servers. It's not much of an mmo anymore in regards to being massively multiplayer, it's more solo. It still return to it from time to time. ~Vaultarn~
i am a big fan of kotor, and remember how i was hyped at the announcement of swtor, but i was a teenager and had no internet connection back then, moreover i couldn't pay for the game. i know it became free2play a long time ago, but i first tried it today, August 12, 2023. how time flies!
I would definitely recommend SWTOR, there are 8 unique and interactive stories that fit perfectly in Star Wars. You can choose to play the game entirely alone, or group up with friends or random players. PvP is still going and can be fun. If anybody is on the fence sbout this game there is thousands of hours of gameplay for free.
@clairemadeinheaven you can avoid pvp entirely. Towards later levels you may need to purchase gear or item modifications but for the most part the game is great about dropping necessary loot. Heroics is a great way to get better gear, you might be able to solo most of them if you set your companion to healer.
You can change the action bars and the HUD layout. I have 3 across the bottom and utility bars up the side. When I started my Jedi Knight, I levelled it solely with the Dark side to get the Malevolent title and cleared my way through all Origin Chapters. Some of the reaction I get from Republic Purists on the fleet station is comical.
Thank you for this video. As not only a fan of star wars but a fan of good storytelling, swtor has been one of my favorite games for years. It's very good to know people still appreciate it as I had to opportunity to do
Recently starting playing this game since playing wow since bc. I know its old but, absolutely LOVE this story and game, thanks for the content and I feel the same way about a lot of it.
Played from beta and loved it for a few years. The storylines are great, and in it's youth it was a lot of fun to play operations and flashpoints. The move to BS games make me feel like it doesn't have much time left. The expansions went downhill really fast, it just seemed that they put less and less time into expansions. FTP players will feel a really hard pinch in the xp dept after 20 or so unless they removed that recently. I'm sure some people out there somewhere are working on an emulator, I'd definitely play that
Controls fucking suck though. Couldn't even play more than five minutes with having to click every time I want to move my camera, and for it to tell me enemies are out of range when I'm literally in front of them. Pissed me off too because I was interested in the story. Also, why the FUCK would they change the layout of the valley of the dark lords to met canon standards a little better when legends is extremely inconsistent anyway? Just give us the map we know and love and if for whatever reason gameplay requires it THEN you change our old maps. Yes, it's from 2006, but so what? It holds up with game maps of today.
I've not seen any mmo replicate SWTOR's co-op story progression as a main feature. I really do love the option to solo stories, but also include friends into them so they don't have to play that class to enjoy the ride (unless they want to try it out). The stories within the game are really fun. Gameplay it is just another mmorpg with the difference being it has a Star Wars theme. I did enjoy the rail shooter segments.
For the record, some of the races are locked, because at first they are restricted to specific origin stories. After you finish a story with said race, it becomes unlocked for other origin stories.
I actually played SWTOR a lot together with my girlfriend, it is a great game and we probably put several 100 hours in it. However in the end LOTRO stays our favorite MMO and it is the only multiplayer game that I have more than a thousand hours in it. Otherwise I mostly play Single Player games like Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Assassin's Creed etc. I think my taste in games might be confusing because many things I play are so different from one another that it is hardly possible to really get a sense of what kind of games I like. However I would be very interested in what games you play outside of the MMO space, maybe you could make a video about it. Things put aside great video as usual already looking forward to your upcoming videos! :)
i started playing yesterday and its true. The story is amazing. Im only lvl 15 so far and i enjoyed any minute. I dont know why it took me so long to try this game. Amazing video.
Imperial Agent story is by far the best in my opinion. who doesn't like an evil James Bond with a license to murder anyone they see fit? the story is so cool. let me tell you the first time I played it. in chapter 1 I roleplayed this agent that was loyal to the empire. as I told the keeper, I was a patriot and I wanted to serve my "country". after chapter 1 though, all that changed for my character as I found out more about the Sith and the empire, because in chapter 2 you spend most of your time as a brainwashed puppet, and guess whose fault that is? so by chapter 2's end, I hated the empire and the Sith, I was loyal to those that helped me. by the end of chapter 3. I chose to keep all the power for myself and become a ghost, screw the sith! the story is so cool, the way you go through this personal growth as a character. my second favorite is the Bounty Hunter, then the Trooper and then the smuggler, and after that the Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Jedi Knight and dead last, the Jedi Consular. when new players ask, I always say it's 100% worth it to subscribe 1 month and then unsubscribe again, your account gets upgraded to preferred after your subscription is up and preferred is so much better than F2P, although, they have made F2P better than it used to be. Edit: back in 2011, companions had their set role. Mako was a healer, Vette was a dps, the droid the Jedi knight gets at the start was a tank and you could not change them, it made some fights way more challenging where you are forced to have a certain companion along. the jedi knight story has 2 such fights.
9:35 you can customize the UI in the settings. Make anything anysize, and move it anywhere. you can also make bars/graphs almost transparent (pretty close to it) good video so far
The problems the game has with keeping new players is they spend a while customizing their characters and after getting their first helm (which normally looks pretty goofy) they want to hide their helm like you can in almost 100% of the other MMO’s but they’re told they have to pay real money to hide their helm. Next you jump into your first flashpoint and your first time in group content, you finish it and you’re excited but when you go to equip those new items you’re told you need to either sub or pay $10+ to equip those items. Next is someone who wants to play a crafter or gathering but they either need to pay or sub to be anywhere near efficient. Now they’re starting to feel all these walls put in front of them The last straw from most the people i’ve talked to is once you hit level 20 you get a huge pop up telling you that unless you sub your character leveling will be much slower than subs. The characters reduce xp isn’t so strong, but the problem is you will need to put in hundreds of free to play hours to level your legacy while the game still has the credit cap, gear limitations, crew skill limitations. Paying once will get you to preferred which helps a small amount, and if you do sub you’ll get all the current expansions, level cap removed permanently even after you sub expires. But you’ll once again go back to credit caps, gear restrictions, and lose one of your crew skills leaving you with 2. The game is amazing and i’ve only been playing for 3 months now, a few level 80’s but eventually the game will force you to pull out the wallet and it does it very early instead of waiting to mid-late game like it should. instead right out the gate they start telling you and giving warnings that you’ll need to pay to keep up with friends, guild mates, or just your own personal goals. I’d still recommend the game for the story to anyone who enjoys deep story adventure games.
I'll totally agree, F2P is totally a solo experience and just gives you story. I actually pre-ordered the game and got the physical security key card. My computer couldn't play it the first 3-4 days until the graphics nerf update. After that it was great. I played about two years then quit, tried to come back about 3 years ago and hit those pay walls hard and the only thing I got to keep were my purple lightsabers, everything else I had to sub for again. I am currently downloading and trying again with the full expectation to have to sub. I'll update if anyone cares.
Discovered this game in 4th grade. Played this game everyday straight when I came home and put in hundreds of hours. I hated those f2p restrictions but I kept on playing. This comment brought back my frustrations with free to play.
Your pvp season xp is also halved if you don’t have a sub. F2P have less pvp season objectives that would reward season progression, so basically it takes twice as long (or double the work😅)
Theres a couple ways to unlock a race for all classes: Buy them using Cartel Coins (a few races require this, like Cathar, but most do not), or get to level 50 with that race. No need to finish the original 3 stories. Some races you can only play as certain classes at first (Pureblood Sith can only be played as a Sith warrior or inquisitor, for example), and some races are only accessible though a subscription or buying with Cartel Coins (Sith Pureblood again, as an example). But once you get to level 50 and unlock them for all classes, they also stay unlocked after your subscription runs out. So if you become preferred status but still want to make a Sith Jedi, you can.
6:55 My favorite is the Jedi Consular and Imperial Agent. Imperial Agent is a very cloak-and-daggers 007-style storyline. I am enjoying my Jedi Knight a bit though, especially since I unlocked Sith Warrior for her and she is also going evil in her storyline. It's funny watching me use the Force Choke ability on enemies as a Jedi character.
To me it seems to me that the cinematics are better then the game as a whole.... thats what made kotor so good, you played a epic story from start to finish.
If someone has never played SWTOR its worth it to do it now even if you only ever play the class stories some are better than others but all of them are good !
You can create your own UI and save it as a profile. That will make it somewhat better. Alderaan is an amazing planet and the game soundtrack is fantastic as well.
You can play other races but they are lock by a specific class and faction, for example, the Chiss is unlock for the agent class, Twilek is unlock for jedi class and Scoundrell and the same for the others!
I'll defend the raids really quick, the raid "remembering" examples could also be nostalgia. WoW pretty much was dead to me after WoTLK because I loved WC2 and 3. LoTR, battling the Balrog would be awesome just because of how much I enjoy the movies. W/ SWTOR, we don't have any of that except like...one where we (SPOILER AHEAD) fight Revan and it is not even a raid if I remember correctly. I wish open world PvP still exists (the instances are pretty much dead). My favorite memories are on the old RPPvP servers and having giant open world wars.
I have taken the move to Broadsword very positively. If you look at recent actions and news updates for bioware, they want to focus on single player games. SWTOR was the last game of theirs that they continued to work on which was multiplayer. So i feel broadsword can now focus on that multiplayer element for what an mmo needs and perhaps also get back to the stories aswell who knows. SWTOR started at the peak of Bioware jumping into multiplayer games but as alot will know multiplayer didnt work out for bioware and here we are now with broadsword. I am quite excited for SWTORs future ☺️
I started playing like two months ago and even tho the subscription is a bit intrusive, you still get a great experience while being f2p, definitely would recommend to any star wars fans that wanna rp or make their live story in the galaxy
Woot finally able to play online again after almost 2 hours. As for Starwars the Old Repubic. It was worth playing for the stories, and the expansion of Fallen Empires was amazing, and very close to how I would develop a new MMO. One thing that always prevent me from returning to an old mmo I was played a lot, like SWTOR, had max level character in all classes, and preferred the Jedi Knight story, though unlike most, I loved all the stories. So what prevents me to come back? The many restrictions, and there are a ton in SWTOR, in such a limited and terrible way, that I as a subscriber over many years, do NOT want to return to. It is use of action bars, travel, bags, auction house etc The game actually suck for a F2P due to the MANY restrictions.
Yes it will. Sadly most players stopped playing this game after they took out pvp and made the dumb pvp servers. I was a top pvp players and people knew my character far and wide for my pvp killings. Had the best gear for me and my companion. And then they ruined everything in pvp. Its sad. Star wars was a great game now its only for the story line and nothing else.
play the game for the 8 storylines and flashpoints. the operations are excellent but there are no teams running them on hard difficulties anymore so sadly you wont get to see the harder content be grouped for anymore. the pvp is in a horrendous class balance state and i strongly recommending never queueing it
SWTOR is still a great game filled with story content. I'm currently uploading a Sith Warrior playthrough, showing the main story and certain side quests.
All the zones being similar is due the Galactic Architectures Guild contract with the universe. There is some debate about the similarities of cave systems being attributed to the same Guild or a separate Mason's guild.
Swtor for me is like a blackhole combined with an unending abyss. Once I log on there's no telling when I'll get off. I'm actually thankful I don't have a gaming pc right now lol. I love the game; however I would warn about getting too into the story. Think bleeding effect from the assassin's creed games, and that's what I'm getting at. Spending too much time, and getting too involved; can lead to fantasy becoming reality. All that said if ever I got the chance I'd likely still login and go absolutely bananas 🤣
remember thought, broadsword actively updates and releases expansions for UO! so even if a bunch of the bioware staff didn't move over, the game would be in good hands
I will have to say I am lovin' Sith Warrior story I started it few months ago. I've been playing swtor for few years now. Finished Jedi Knight story which I enjoyed and Consular story.
It's worth a play through for each of the story lines. It was great, played it for many years. Problem came when Updates slowed way down. It's been out since 2011 and its only on expansion 7. Makes you feel like EA is just bleeding it as free income while Disney releases Star Wars Shows. Had they said, "Updates will be slow as we migrate to a new engine" people would be all for it. I stopped playing when they tried adding their Pay pass loot box system on top of subscriptions.
Times Anjel facepalmed at your shenanigans-- 8.. Great video. You know you can change the UI layout right ? Now you make me wanna play again. Also I think you meant Ered Lion right 😂😂 ( I can feel the glare from here ! )
Im.sure he does, I think his point was there is nothing intriguing about him in the story really, well compared to swtor characters. I play dragonflight and I do love it, However it's not very exciting.
Just watched this, rummaged around and found my old security code generator thingy. Tried logging in, and had nothing but issues. I dont have access to my account I made when the game launched... ugh. Support is almost usless, just links to more links. sad weekend.
You spent some time trashing the interface, and that's fair.... but it's also important to recognize that the interface is entirely customizable. Don't like it? Change it. You can add up to 6 bars, you can also squash them so they have different rows and columns, you can place everything wherever you want. There's only a few tiny exceptions where you can't move something.
sorry to ask but when you said mediocre swtor expansions, which one do you mean?coz if u said expansion other than KOTFE then yes.but KOTFE for me is the one of the best expansions not just in MMO but also in RPG games history.but if you want to be objective,u should try all the expansions 1st...
II've been playing the game for 12 years almost non-stop. The only weak link is the economy. I tried WoW for about a month to see what the difference is between those 2 games.. Well, the difference is that there, for everyone from the alliance, the story is the same, and for everyone from the horde as well. There are actually 2 story lines and that's it. In addition, it is crammed with excess spells and powers, etc. When they fight, most of the time they are stunned and interrupted. For example, I play a worlock, he has 5 power for damage, and 20 power for all kinds of stuns, fears, interrupts, etc... New players realize how hard to play is.. I ask why there is so much powers that prevent ppl from dying ? There is no fun PvP fighting. Separately, it is full of add-ons that show you what to use and when, basically you don't think at all, but you press buttons. If we talk about PvP, in SWTOR you can play 500 games today, in WoW you wait hours to play. I hope the new owners of SWTOR develop it better. SWTOR is great game, its amazing if u ask me. I just hope big changes will came soon.
The game is really restricting for F2P players. However, stuff can be unlocked for free. I recommend trying it out for free and if you like buy a month's subscription which unlocks all the expansions even if you don't keep the subscription after the 1st month.
swtor is amazing i have played it on and off since its early access back in 2010s sometime i always come back to it even if its for a few months at a time i love this game stories are amazing
I rather don’t agree with you on the expansion experience. Now rise of the hut cartel and shadow of revan may be a little boring compared to the class stories but knights of the eternal throne was deeply immersive and had fantastic storylines with ample content that came from it. Which most of was voice acted as well
Knights expansions are good if you play as Force user. My first character was an Agent and when i reached a certain chapter on Odessen it just didn't make any sense for my character anymore. Did it with Sith Warrior and it was great.
When the game first launched, leveling was more like 2003 WoW, simple Mobs could actually kill you if your monitor was turned off. They nerfed the skill of enemies several years ago, to encourage you to buy the lvl 60 token to play the post-game content.
This is the reason why I don't play MMos anymore, Mobs are 1 hit to kill and level scaling completely killed level progression. Every companion was different in skills and power, getting HK 51 as best DPS or Treek as best healer was game changing, now every companion is the same and can play all roles.
Yes, you should. And if you played, you should come back and enjoy the game. Only people who are taking a small break from the game are prog raiders who cleared most of the content and pvpers, once they farmed the whole pvp season. I progged almost everything, now I just do casual MM FPs and daily ops runs for tech fragments so I can get mats to sell. Game is definitely worth playing in 2023 though.
Huge con, because I highly doubt it will ever change, would be the language used. Everything is a penalty for being f2p instead of a bonus for subscribing.
SWTOR is the only MMO where i like every single class i play. The only thing i hate... and truely hate is the space combat (rails & starfighter) .. its so stupid and disconnected from the game itsself it just hurts.
In regards to the companion making the game easy, I agree. That is why I've made an effort to play without my companions. The time spent in combat increases, but it feels a lot more engaging and risky.
But i tried once and boy my health went down soo quickly! I always use my companion to heal me because its so hard to keep your health up. Especially bosses fight.
As a new player i have a question. Is the combat absolute trash or am losing it? Like, i used to play Tera so i already have high standards for it but still! I really cant get into the storyline with this, and its such a shame since thats what everyone is praising it for.
They almost had a real wow killer. The didn’t do the combat correctly, they were so close. The developers should of made the combat similar to gw2, with keeping class roles and they would of had a bigger and longer fan base that would of lasted longer. That being said it is still a great game.
I can always recommend swtor to a new player, so much content to explore free. not the best free to play experience. I just wish they would get back on track with pushing out content for players who've been playing from the beginning.
Sure swtor story is good but ffxiv story will always be better, even the individual job stories are amazing. I also feel like Square puts more time and care into ffxiv than is put into swtor.
SWTOR is really not an MMO anymore, most want to solo Everything and seldom want to run any ops/Flash Points with other players....it used to be that you needed a group to clear a big chunk of the content. It was better when it was subscription only, once it went the Free 2 play route it completely changed the game.
That seems like a big thing in MMOs! I wish that more MMOs would have a mandatory subscription - it seems like it makes for a much more “dedicated MMO” crew in the game.
They focus so much on story that the game ends up lacking in many other ways. Just like how Nirn in the Elder Scrolls games has so much of a rich history that the gameplay is shallow. DDO has a pretty good balance but it is getting unplayable due to its age. IDK tho, I may try TOR just to been there dun that it.
Also Skyrim storylines lacked falling action and resolution. It really fails at story telling because the "storylines" never involve any kind of "what did we learn and what will we do different?" In fact, you could make some really immoral choices and it makes little difference. The game world still turns and nothing matters in the end is the only moral lesson I could ever derive from Skyrim. I hope this game at least does better than that. There was this dragon and it attacked a village just as I was about to be executed. It really saved me. I found out that I am something special so I must go kill that dragon that saved me and get some cool rewards. See, that is not a story. Warriors of the Eternal Sun on Sega G had the story formula down. And that was 1992. The game Flashback had the story formula down even if the ending is a bit lame.
Yeah it’s a great MMO with some of the best story I’ve ever played, but it’s age is just showing at this point. We are past due for a new Star Wars mmo.
Ive played since beta. I have the founders tag. Ive completed all 8 origin storys. Some even twice good and light. To me Swtor has nothing left to offer. I didnt like the knights of throne stuff. Manly because its very friendly to altz. Great first time through. But third fourth fifth zzzzzzzzz. Swotor needs to go back to its roots. Unique storys per class. Adding more and more. Since the base game there hasnt been that same greater. Its one story all claases play the same thing. Its boring even the second time though. Painful the third fouuth zzzzz.
I played it at launch the original base game youll be like awww shit all these class stories then after they kinda went away from it and there really isnt good endgame now for the hammer there is another Star Wars mmo in early development so when that happens we know where SWTOR is going so no bitchy big mad if you buy cartel stuff
I am a fan of the narration but they need to update the look of the game as it looks dated for an mmo. They already made some changes more is just to come
LEAVE A COMMENT: is SWTOR worth playing in 2023?!
Yes but only if you Are a star wars nerd
Definitely if you enjoy interactive stories, exploring different Star Wars planets, and want some online components to play with friends such as PvP and PvE.

Yes
I am gonna try it now to see if it's a good game still.
The UI is not optimal but it's extremely customizable, to a bewildering extent actually.
Yes. There are modern games with incredibly clunky layouts that could learn from swtor
something I really like about the expansions (at least the two eternal throne ones) is that your choices matter more, like certain choices can have followers leave you, die, or betray you

@clairemadeinheaven you don't need pvp for end game gear, though it is one way of getting some.
@@clairemadeinheavendevs made sure that you can get necessary gear playing the game your way
Currently playing through the SWTOR story, and it's the coziest MMO out there. Super fun.
You can change the action bars and the HUD layout. I have 3 across the bottom and utility bars up the side.

The Inquisitor storyline was 10/10.
Played it like 2 or 3 years ago.
Try Agent 15/10 and replayable

Next you jump into your first flashpoint and your first time in group content, you finish it and you’re excited but when you go to equip those new items you’re told you need to either sub or pay $10+ to equip those items.
Next is someone who wants to play a crafter or gathering but they either need to pay or sub to be anywhere near efficient. Now they’re starting to feel all these walls put in front of them
The last straw from most the people i’ve talked to is once you hit level 20 you get a huge pop up telling you that unless you sub your character leveling will be much slower than subs.
I'll update if anyone cares.
couldnt agree more the nail that sealed the coffin for me was having to pay to unlock action bars idk if that still exists but it did a few years ago
@@TwentyTwoSigmawheres the update
Discovered this game in 4th grade. Played this game everyday straight when I came home and put in hundreds of hours. I hated those f2p restrictions but I kept on playing. This comment brought back my frustrations with free to play.
Your pvp season xp is also halved if you don’t have a sub. F2P have less pvp season objectives that would reward season progression, so basically it takes twice as long (or double the work😅)
IIRC you can unlock some races for all origins by playing through a story with a class that can be this race from the start
Yet its a great game i stardet 4 days ago
This game is really addictive, loved the inquisitor story doing the warrior one now
inquisitor story was amazing I was hooked on it I havent enjoyed a single player experience that much since KOTOR 2.
If someone has never played SWTOR its worth it to do it now even if you only ever play the class stories some are better than others but all of them are good !
Agreed! It's such a fun experience!
You can create your own UI and save it as a profile. That will make it somewhat better.
Alderaan is an amazing planet and the game soundtrack is fantastic as well.
Dude, you deserve more viewers. Keep at the grind a few more years and it will build. You have enough talent for a million subs.
You can play other races but they are lock by a specific class and faction, for example, the Chiss is unlock for the agent class, Twilek is unlock for jedi class and Scoundrell and the same for the others!
Also i would liketo point out that some planet storylines (which are faction specific) are great too. Like the Imperial Taris story for example
yeah, imperial plantery stories are so good, balmorra, taris, correllia.
I started playing like two months ago and even tho the subscription is a bit intrusive, you still get a great experience while being f2p, definitely would recommend to any star wars fans that wanna rp or make their live story in the galaxy
do you consider subscribing?
Just started a few weeks ago, best MMO story by far. Loads of fun. Won't be dropping it anytime soon.
Super cool game, will never die. Extremely immersive!
@@aspisgaming7697 lmao🤣
keep coping
play the game for the 8 storylines and flashpoints. the operations are excellent but there are no teams running them on hard difficulties anymore so sadly you wont get to see the harder content be grouped for anymore. the pvp is in a horrendous class balance state and i strongly recommending never queueing it
You gotta join a guild for super end-game content, almost all the guild im in doing Heroic OP every week or 2
SWTOR is still a great game filled with story content. I'm currently uploading a Sith Warrior playthrough, showing the main story and certain side quests.
Great game overall, sadly quit due to the credit cap limiting my gameplay.
All the zones being similar is due the Galactic Architectures Guild contract with the universe. There is some debate about the similarities of cave systems being attributed to the same Guild or a separate Mason's guild.
Can you play this game on Steamdeck yet? It’s the only game I would really play on PC and I don’t wanna buy a $1000 laptop just for the old republic
I'd love to play the game on Steamdeck. I currently play on my PC using a Xbox 1 controller and its a surprisingly fun way to play.
trust me it will not be easy all the time with companion on heal..i played this game for many years and it gets harder with time.. :)
Also I think you meant Ered Lion right 😂😂 ( I can feel the glare from here ! )
Wait, so you've played Dragonflight and don't know who NOZDORMU is? Uh, huh... Riiiight....
There's only a few tiny exceptions where you can't move something.
sorry to ask but when you said mediocre swtor expansions, which one do you mean?coz if u said expansion other than KOTFE then yes.but KOTFE for me is the one of the best expansions not just in MMO but also in RPG games history.but if you want to be objective,u should try all the expansions 1st...
omg yes! finally someone that agrees with me that KOTFE was great, i loved everything about that DLC, i don't understand the hate.
I've been playing for about 2 1/2 years and I love it.
@@Khagrim that is true after my first play through with my sith i knew I couldn’t play it with non force user character it would just be stupid lol
You can edit the UI placement for something less... strange. You can drag it all over the screen.
You can customise the UI to a pretty decent extent. It's really not any worse than wow imo (although they're trying to make it progressively worse).
You can change how the UI looks and how many bars you have.
Bro said that the new character creation screen looks better than the older one💀💀💀
SWTOR is the only MMO where i like every single class i play. The only thing i hate... and truely hate is the space combat (rails & starfighter) .. its so stupid and disconnected from the game itsself it just hurts.
There used to be a UI editor, i haven't played in a while but i remember it being decent
@sicariodu9546 that's....the point. not everyone enjoys having literally everything handed to them
More rpg than a mmo imo, Great stuff in this game !
If you like star wars then play it. 1000,s of hours of content if you play right
As a new player i have a question. Is the combat absolute trash or am losing it? Like, i used to play Tera so i already have high standards for it but still! I really cant get into the storyline with this, and its such a shame since thats what everyone is praising it for.
the gameplay its just like wow, classic mmorpg gampelay
Upvote, just for Anduril in the background.
Make MMOerica massive again.
Is this a other version on pc
Never had a problem with the UI..well once they stopped paywalling the action bars.
They almost had a real wow killer. The didn’t do the combat correctly, they were so close. The developers should of made the combat similar to gw2, with keeping class roles and they would of had a bigger and longer fan base that would of lasted longer. That being said it is still a great game.
Yep. I'm downloading this one again. Great video!
I can always recommend swtor to a new player, so much content to explore free. not the best free to play experience. I just wish they would get back on track with pushing out content for players who've been playing from the beginning.
shill
@@chaoticallypureevil shill? Mind elaborating? Or are you just emotionally charged when it comes to swtor?
Sure swtor story is good but ffxiv story will always be better, even the individual job stories are amazing. I also feel like Square puts more time and care into ffxiv than is put into swtor.
It is so good that people pay real money to NOT play it.
Honestly that's what turned me off on SWTOR is the UI other then that it's a good game. (100% is a Sith that's the side I am on :) )
If you like good Star Wars stories this is for you. I play solo and love it
I needed to hear this! Appreciate the vid!
mediocore? KOTFE was easly best DLC in the game.
Watch out if you RP, that’s all I can say.
The combat and the companion is the reason I dont play this game, the rest of it is great tho
I’m with you! The story more than makes up for it IMO - but definitely with you on that!
Companions are great what are you talking about?
Combat is standart tab target nothing fancy but nothing wrong with it too
SWTOR is really not an MMO anymore, most want to solo Everything and seldom want to run any ops/Flash Points with other players....it used to be that you needed a group to clear a big chunk of the content. It was better when it was subscription only, once it went the Free 2 play route it completely changed the game.
That seems like a big thing in MMOs! I wish that more MMOs would have a mandatory subscription - it seems like it makes for a much more “dedicated MMO” crew in the game.
its why its better than other MMOs really.
Great video. I plan on doing a similar video, just not a review like this. More of a long retrospective.
He doesn't know how nozdormu is ? Well we'll I think someone don't read text or do any quests
I find this and ESO the only playable MMOs as a casual player of them.
I'm sold, I'm coming back.
Who's tom brody?
13:28 made me laugh so hard. It's literally everyone that complains about bug/sensitivity in games and go it's easy to fix...right 😂
They focus so much on story that the game ends up lacking in many other ways. Just like how Nirn in the Elder Scrolls games has so much of a rich history that the gameplay is shallow. DDO has a pretty good balance but it is getting unplayable due to its age. IDK tho, I may try TOR just to been there dun that it.
OMG - Fix Gandalf's staff!
:D
Gandalf's staff is perfect I don't know what you're talking about xD
Is it F2P? When I played it was free to try, but you needed to subscribe to actually play.
Yessir! Free to play through level 50, I believe. No subs needed, but it's a big benefit for leveling speed.
Yeah it’s a great MMO with some of the best story I’ve ever played, but it’s age is just showing at this point. We are past due for a new Star Wars mmo.
Can you imagine?! I’d love that. What age of Star Wars would you put a SWTOR 2 in?
There is one in development and thankfully SWTOR will be put down when it gets close to release
They already made some changes more is just to come
Must play for star wars fans
It's not pronounced ME - LEE
it's MAY-LAY.
Sorry.
There are plenty of uneducated philistines who pronounce it Me-Lee, so...guess it is both now.
