  • I made this cracked bandsaw box from a couple pieces of walnut and maple. I have created a template that is based on "Roysbox" design and can be downloaded for free on my website.

Looking at the layers together it looks like a huge ice cream sandwich. The finished jewellery box looked beautiful.

My daughter did this build about 6 months ago. Some of her finest work. Great video!

I'm waiting for my first bandsaw to be delivered (hopefully next week) so I've been watching a lot of bandsaw UA-cam videos. Your method of double side taping the front and back on rather than what most people do glueing it is genius!!!
    Stunning end piece.

That was an amazing piece of work! Well done!
I'm afraid there is not enough love left in me, to drive me to build such an intricate jewelry box. I think I'll just buy her some perfume :-)

    Great work bud.
    But just a tip.
You don't need so many clamps. Everyone always goes overkill on clamps. You just need a bit of pressure. (Ie just the one socket set you put on) Without adding the second and sanders

Do you slice off back/front first because of the jagged center cut? I mean, does that make slicing off the front/back difficult after cutting out the center? (Complete woodworking newborn - sorry is this is obvious to everyone else in the world 😁)

Question. First, great job, luv it. The one inch belt sander, what grit do you have on it? I have been thinking about getting one. How do you like yours? Any issues? thanks…

Hi can I ask just ordered a band saw to make band saw boxes and it’s max cut depth is 120mm! Have I made a mistake buying one that is limited on overall thickness cuts of timber specially when I only bought it to make band saw boxes

Question? Is that 8/4 or 12/4 maple for the center and 4/4 for the walnut front and back

I found flocking to hide all manner of evils on the insides of the drawers. A roungh 80 grit to knock any big lumps off then flocking hides the rest, including squeeze out ;)
