    I've just recently bought a bandsaw and im looking for easy projects to start me off, and these look brilliant!! 👍
    I loved the doen to earth chat and the rummaging round the garden looking for twigs and a little bit of fun with the cat as well. That was lovely.
    Im gonna subscribe and see what else youve got going on. 👍

    They look brilliant mate. What size bandsaw blade do you use for cutting curves. Im still using the stock blade at the mo but cant cut curves very easily with it. Thats one thing i wanna try at some point a bandsaw box. I love these ones with the bark left on

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop 3 роки тому

      Thanks David, I'm using a 1/4" blade on a bandsaw with a 9" depth of cut. These boxes I made 3 1/2" long but can be made to whatever will fit in your bandsaw.
      Take care David 👍

    Hi - nice video something I am looking for to build using my new bandsaw and also a tree I had to fell since it was dead. One question - should I dry the log to a moisture level below certain value before I attempt this? TIA.

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop Рік тому +1

      Hi, I usually wait until it is down to 14 percent or lower. Steady drying will avoid loads of splits or twists. I leave in the workshop and wait for the levels to drop over a period of time 👍

      Thanks for watching Michael, yeah I never tried on my smaller bandsaw. This one's got a 9" depth of cut and I was only cutting 3 1/2" so it managed ok.

    • @gsp911

      My smallest band saw has a cutting height of 3.15", I have made a lot of bandsaw boxes with it.
      I use 1/4 "and 1/8" blades.
      However, I just ordered a slightly larger one I could get brand new for under half the list price, I think it's a bit too small, and the other one I have is way too big, but the small one can easily make boxes.
