There is no difference in Japanese taillights. I work at the Rav4 plant in Ontario. All parts are built the same and interchangeable. We at times have part shipped from Japan because of local part supplier issues.
This video was a great help! I bought an after-market replacement and did the swap myself. I haven't found the difference in parts yet, will update if I notice it, but what I did note is that if you're shopping for a light and you see "American Built" or "Japan Built", you need to look at your vehicles VIN number. If it starts with a J, it's made in Japan. If it starts with a number, it's american built. I hope that helps!
Excellent attention to detail with a nice mix of this is how it's done, don't expect perfection with aftermarket and you are good to go, not a lot of rambling, well done!!
Yes lol I found them on Amazon I think, it was a while ago . Don't have car anymore. But I found very easy. Panel clips for toyota. They don't have to look exactly same
The problem I'm having doing this is the rubber skirt that hangs a thin strip like flashing that is supposed to go Over the new light assembly. I haven't found a way how to not have it folded underneath. Help please?
I just ordered the outer and inner tail lights. For some reason, the inner is made in Japan. I will let everyone know here if it fit or not on Wednesday or Thursday.
@kenneth hatcher you are correct. This is a great video however the rubber seal needs to be on top of the red part of the tail light. I used a very small piece of wire bent in an L to drag under the rubber seal, as I pushed the tail light down into the holes to secure. Thanks for the video. Good job.
@@kennethhatcher5822 good eye... had no idea what you were talking about until i did this procedure myself. how do you get the rubber seal above the light though? i cannot pop the light under this seal.

Thank you. Do you know if the square covers for changing the bulbs on the trim are the same between pre-2019 models and post-2019?
Nice video. Very clear descriptions and directions. Ecellent camera work. Thank you.

Also, you do know you’re not supposed to touch halogen lights with your bare hands what the hell were you thinking?

Did you figure out which replacement clips to order for the missing ones at 7:00? I have been searching but couldn't find the model.

Wow lol, the SAME ONE on my car has water in it lol.
What is that yellow plastic tool you used to pull off the tailgate panels?
Nice

I'm sorry I have no idea new Toyota RAV4 are totally different cars !!
Super !!!👍👍👍
Is this a 2014?
Yes 2014 model. If u have newer model you might have different looking lights. But install just the same
Where do buy tail light Toyota RAV4 bro?

@@IvanRossS Out of stock...😅
Wrong! You don't have to take all of those panels off. There are two access panels that come out for you to access the lights.
Yes I thought that too but those plastic covers do not align with screws at all
You have pinched the rubber seal underneath the window glass !
I'm not sure what you're talking about send me the time in my video where you see I'm doing something like that
4.44 , the rubber seal below the glass on the red part of the light , sould be on top of the light not behind it , check your other side ?
@@kennethhatcher5822 No lol... its gaskets that goes around bolts. New lamp came with new ones. Already attached on the bolt. See 1:32

How about the Outer Tail Light .....this is the "Inner". Seems like Toyota has made even the simplest of tasks impossible for a DIY-er.
Its 2 bolts on the middle of the trunk frame. And pull towards you.
