  • This is an Unboxing and Install video for anyone that wants to see what is involved in swapping these out. I have been wanting to upgrade to Toyota's LED Tails for awhile now. Thanks to DEPO, they have released the LED Tails for the 4th Gen (Face-Lift) RAV4!
This install was done on the following model:
2016 RAV4 XLE AWD with Power Lift Gate
These are direct replacement plug n play for any 2016-2018 RAV4 with Non-LED Tails lamps.
What I love about these, is they are just clean and simple looking while giving you clean lighting at night time.
    Video Chapters:

    Installation: 3:00 - 12:00
    Test Comparison: 12:13-13:57

Unfortunately DEPO doesnt have a direct website for ordering their products, but they can purchased through vendors such as carid.com or ebay.com. I got mine from an ebay seller. Their user name is in the beginning of the video if you want to purchase directly from the same seller i got mine from. Hope this helps!

Problem with LED tail lights are: we never know how long that LED and LED driver will last, one LED element died, the whole taillight need to be replaced. So, I am still sceptical with it. Even Toyota OEM LED lights are also that way, not cheap when it starts going nuts.

I love LED headlight when it is brighter and better coverage and not blinding other drivers. But HID is still brighter, easier to replace, and last long. It is only about $50 for HID from phillips or Osram in Autozone. LED headlight is sold as sealed unit, cannot be replaced when it is going bad. But Toyota OEM LED headlight last longer than typical 20-30 years of usages. So, I trust it, but not aftermarket without proper cooling, high quality japanese capacitors, etc. In electronics, capacitors and diodes are the parts that failed often on cars applications with highheat and temperature range

@@rondhole yea for sure. I mean time will tell on how long the product lasts. But I only had them on my car for a couple months before I sold it. It’s up to the company to improve on the product, because if they don’t no one will buy the product. Depo has been around for a long time and I have had several of their products with no issues but regardless oem or aftermarket everything has tendency to fail especially if it goes through wear and tear.
