2010 Rav4 owner here, 180K miles. Paint chip problems, a minor fix. The plastic headlight lens get foggy and need to be buffed out. The 02 bank 2 sensor throws a check engine/4wd code and you lose cruise control. It's a half hour DIY fix to replace the 02 sensor from under the car. Otherwise great car, 25 mpg all around highway/city here in 2024. I plan to keep it for another 100K. a couple more years. To update it I'm adding LED headlight bulbs, around $100. I also want a $200 backup camera, I'm going to use wireless. It is an all-day operation to take the trim off on the passenger side in the back where the jack is mounted to run wiring.
Which engine in 2008 had oil consumption? The 4-cylinder or the 6 cylinder? In the video I see the 4-cylinder being shown so my guess is that's what you meant. But since I'm looking at a 2008 right now V6, I'm wondering if that is the one I should worry about
I had a 11 Rav Limited 4WD with the 3.5L V6 and the 5spd automatic transmission. It had every option available in 2011. I absolutely loved my Rav. I sold it to a friend of mine because he knew how much of a maintenance nut I am. My wife wanted for us to consolidate down to 2 vehicles instead of 3, so I sold my Rav and our Ranger XLT 4WD super cab pickup and bought a new 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, 6’ bed, double cab with the premium and technology pkgs. My new Tacoma has the same 3.5L V6 as did my Rav, but my Rav had 269 horsepower and my Tacoma has 278 horsepower. Well it had 278 horsepower until I installed a K&N cold air intake, a Flowmaster FlowFX turn down dual exhaust and an Overland Torque Tune. My Tacoma is now pumping out 302 horsepower and I’m getting 1mpg Better fuel economy.
2016 XLE I put OEM brakes, turned rotors, and brand new 800 thread Michelin tires. I hear a loud squeling sqeeking noise from the front of the car as the wheels turn. The shops can never hear it. The under belly has been checked, and everything looks fine. It happens more in the more within the first couple of minutes when it's cooler. help!
I'd be willing to bet that the "worst" years of the RAV4 are still much better than the "best" years of just about any Land Rover or Maserati!
Indeed 👍
Or Jeep.
I own a ‘15 Rav 4. As of Aug ‘24 I have 109k miles on it. In my 9 years of ownership, not a single issue. It’s been absolutely flawless
I owned RAV4 2012 and I have no issues at all just tyres wear out normal oil change , brake pads and spark plugs.
2002 rav4 here over 201,000 miles and still going like the bunny ....Love it all these years later ...
I have the 2002 as well, lately it keeps stopping while I am driving it, have you faced that? what did you do?

You forgot cablegate on the rav4 hybrid, in Canada out of warranty it's a 6000$ job...
