That's it I'm reading the books rn
Can't wait to see the galaxy guns.
This is beyond inspiring I'm in tears I needed this thank you so much. like wow, like I was stoked when I found the heir to the empire videos but this is unbelievably well done, and it just shows how dark empire understands the characters more. I LOVE the 2D animation and your R2 is incredible!! The force is is the fans.
YOOOO you guys even used the music from the sequels, better than two sequels themselves used it. A clean victory🎉
Very well done I applaud u soo much for I am a starwars fan just like u.
OH MY GOSH IT'S OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LONG HAVE I WAITED!!!!!
Excellent work, my friend. That was well put together, I see you borrowed a bit of inspiration from Rise of Skywalker with Palpatine being attatched to that harness thing, plus you did well making his Dark Empire audio voice more menacing.
Ooh that's cool that you caught Palpatine's voice change! The original audio is VERY well performed, but it felt too clean for what we were seeing-essentially, "zombie Palpatine" is what Wilkins kept saying. Thanks for the kind comment!
@@DanielCiurlizza I'm curious to know how you fellas edited it. I use audacity, and for my own projects, I'm always keen to know how it's achieved. Btw I believe you guys did a great job on this adaptation overall. It was quite a treat to see after work.
Ok now I remember taking these things on in Rogue Squadron. Good times in my V wing and A wing
Audio mixing makes the voices hard to hear over the music, but I bet you can fix that for the master video combining all episodes.
I'm with you on this, so thanks for saying that! I tried my best to turn the music down as low as reasonable for those extra quiet dialogue parts. Sometimes it was the actual audiobook that had the voices lower than the SFX, which was hard to work with (the dialogue and SFX were one file). They just weren't meant to have music go under them, you know? In any case, it's great to have your ideas, because the purpose of doing these is to experiment with different styles and techniques, so helpful thoughts like yours will go towards the next one!
AHH YES YES!!! It’s so GOOD to see Luke and the squad in action again 😭😭😭
The music at the beginning literally gave me chills. Really an amazing and a well job done
I like how TROS took ideas from Dark Empire
Very lovely shading, 3D models, the animations are hitting me with how many inbetween frames there are. Thanks for the awesome experience, thanks to the music arrangers!
I so wanted Dark Empire to be the sequel to the OT when it first came out. You have made that wish come true!!! Outstanding! Such appreciation for the heart of that story is rare... you have done the original work justice!!!
Very well done I applaud u soo much for I am a starwars fan just like u Wilkins animations.
I get the sense Palpatine was bored of owning the Galaxy, he seems to have more fun reconquering it time and time again.
Maybe 🤷♂️
It's finally here! To quote the Count, "I've been looking forward to this." Just want to say, it's ironic how a fan film beats the big budget "star wars" to pieces
Hard work that will be long remembered! Thanks!
I'm not really a Dark Empire fan, but I think it's so cool how much work you've put into this, and its quality considering it's only one person doing ALL of this. (As far as I'm aware)
I could definitely have seen something like this as a sequel series to the original trilogy back in the 80's
Proud of these guys man. The quality is from a galaxy far far away.
YEESSS! I have been waiting for this for a while. This is the epitome of Star Wars storytelling. Beautiful work! Hoping to see a Luke vs young sideous like the comic
This is amazing! One of my all time favorite EU pieces comes to life. Thank you for doing this!! I can't wait to see more!
Sometimes I can't tell if a character is 3D or if there are really that many hand drawn frames. What a great art stylistic blend!
Edit: Definitely taking the background and environment details for granted; they're fantastic. Probably too much work lol; oh my gosh! So good!
10/10, waited all year. Amazing work
It was really good, but I do feel like Luke’s transition to the dark side happened way too fast in that scene. He went from “never!” To “sure bud whatever you say” in, like, two minutes.
At last the true sequel of the Skywalker saga , this is a work of pop art it itself
The Dark Empire classic comic from Tom and Cam back in 1991
Coming back to dark empire after tros: “perhaps I treated you too harshly”.
YOOOOOO!
Just the thing to brighten up my weekend!
Quality is insane, dude! Super looking forward to the next one!
wayy better than the sequels
Thank you for this content! Old heads like me need this.
