Be careful in Cancun Mexico airport-they don’t tolerate anything. They wanted to take my metal circulars and I had to beg them to keep them since my half and half wrap was on them. They finally had mercy on me and let me keep them 🙏🏼

What constitutes “really old stash” is obviously a matter of perspective. I got a good laugh out of your 6 year old stash as I am currently knitting with yarn I have owned for over 41 years and I have 2 other sweater quantities of yarn that were purchased in 1979 and 1981. All 3 were purchased either for something special or in a special location and didn’t not work for the first project so have been waiting for their correct design. One is finally on the needles and I have plans for one of the others.

I make haps instead of so many shawls and blankets. There is a huge square in the center and then many borders to make it colorful and keeps my interest. Check out The Shetland Trader Hansel Hap. It's lovely and has lots of history as being a daily uniform for Shetland woman. It's folded as a triangle and worn like a shawl and brought to the front, criss crosses over the chest and the tales are tied in the back. What a functional pieces of clothing!!!

The clamp on my swift broke ages ago. So I cut off the remaining structure and attached a metal table clamp/ one-hand clamp. Doesn't look chic, but works and it now fits to all kinds of table top thicknesses 😅 does that make sense? I have no idea how to explain that in English 😂
When traveling by plane I used to have sock projects with me. I always knit on metal needles . I put those into an umbrella, when it's in my hand bags. They never got noticed and during the flight I made do with wooden needles.
Thank you for another wonderful episode! Already saw a pic of you in Paris. Have fun and stay safe!

Hi Inga! As I am watching your excellent episode, I am working away on a Twinkle Twinkle Baby blanket, which I have made before. It uses 2 skeins of malabrigo (or any) sock yarn and I was thinking it would be perfect for your mystery yarn. It is worked center out and I have used less than the amount called for to make a 32” square. A smaller blanket but perfect for a gift baby blanket. Perfect plane knitting as well! I have had no issues with metal needles flying in the US and to Europe! ❤

You are so right about spinning videos! I am learning to spin too and I just need a simple video of a serious person showing me how to move my hands to get that fiber onto the bobbin without it being a twisty mess. I don’t need a tour of the wheel or a bunch of giddy chatting- which all spinning videos seem to have. I just need some direction of what the heck to do 😂. Maybe I will make a video if I ever figure out how to do it!

This is crazy but a few days ago I also went deep stash diving and pulled the same yarn out for a tank top I'm knitting. It is also malabrigo, but I don't think it's the same weight/ fiber content... either way, it's in colorway 999 Paprika.
My yarn is Mechita and 100% Superwash Merino in fingering weight.

You have to subscribe, but the school of sweet Georgia has a great series of instructional videos on spinning. Very useful. That’s how I learned

The only airport where I had problems with my knitting was the one in Tallinn, Estonia! No problems in Paris, Frankfurt, Strasbourg or even NY, but I got my knitting needles taken away there... Twice! 😭😭😭

TERRIFIC! I've been looking forward to watching you head down the spinning rabbit hole. It's sooooo much fun. Jillian Moreno has an on line spinning class that I hear is great. Her book "Yarn i tec ture" is one of the most valued of my "go to" references. Rachel Smith, of Wool 'n Spinning Podcast, teaches for the school of Sweet Georgia. She is and excellent spinner and I would expect excellent teacher. Here are some Podcasters who do earmark tutorials in addition to their more chattier Podcasts....J.K. fiber arts, The Soulful Spinner, Rachel (above), Jillian Eves. Good luck and have fun digging your fingers into those fleeces:)

I have a old Malabrigo lace weight. It is alpaca and silk, 420 yards. I think it’s 50 g and looks very similar to yours.

Some spinning UA-camrs I like for educational content are Rachel Smith, Janet - My Spin on Things, and Jillian Eve (spelling has some to amidst the other longer form content)
