Keep all the socks for yourself. Once your little girl is here you might find that you aren't the first priority for quite some time!! Indulge Inga!! Your hair is amazing, you must be taking powerful maternity vitamins. It is always a treat when one of your lovely podcasts pop up, thank you!!
I hear you about having a hard time gifting socks. It seems like such a perfect gift to give around the holidays but so much work, time and effort goes into making socks that I have started only making them for my immediate family members as gifts. I think you should keep them all. I have had bad luck with no nylon socks getting holes in them so I have a giant pile of mending and that means my handknit sock pile has dwindled. Keep the socks! They bring you joy! :)
Love the last piece where you show us some of Norway . I flew to Bergen from Inverness which is actually quicker than flying to London. It’s wonderful to see so much yarn everywhere, even in supermarkets. It’s a wonderful country you live in . Love your podcast as it’s so inspiring.
No one makes as beautiful knit objects as you do! I absolutely love everything you make. I especially love that you aren’t cropping everything you make. You do a fabulous job. I am a physician also and wish I thought of knitting when I was in residency. I would have been a great stress reliever and practical when waiting times were necessary. I had to stay in Boston for courses, which caused me to spend time in hotels and rentals. That would have been lovely way to spend off time. I watch you routinely.
I knitted two large mittens and lightly felted them, then I sewed on snaps on the thumb and the middle of the middle finger so I could attach them to the pram. brilliant for always having warm hands on trolley rides, for not losing your mittens and for having quick access to fix things in the pram with the baby or anything! Knitted them big enough to fit another pair of mittens inside for windy and rainy days 🙌🏼
As always everything you make is stunning! You are also glowing and your baby bump is so adorable 😊 those pillow covers will be beautiful, I cannot wait to see them finished
Your fhaere genser is exquisite! And your blanket looks so beautiful and cozy. I definitely think the socks need to stay with you. I just finished a small gift knit while watching this podcast -- so thank you for keeping me company with that! I do love your podcasts. Thank you!!
Oh Inga, pregnancy makes you shine so beautifully. You look dazzling. Your projects are great. I wish you a few more carefree weeks. And don't let that put you off. Despite having a baby, you still have time to knit. They sleep a lot, especially in the beginning. If you can even detach yourself from the amazement of the little creature. Warm greetings from Germany
You were cradling the socks in your arm and I think you need to keep them for yourself in this special time in your life. The ganser looks great on you and the grey knit is fabulous. The blanket for your baby is lovely as are all the other knits. Lovely acquisitions too. Take care and rest ❤😊
Definitely keep the socks! You encourage me to "selfish" knit (although I know you are also very generous in your knitting), and I am SO glad. So I say keep the socks - a little "selfish" knit encouragement back! ❤
Inga, Your knitting is amazing! The sweater is beautiful but that squares blanket is awesome! The colors of those squares for that blanket look really good together. As always, I enjoy your podcast. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Inga, I love your podcast that sweater is STUNNING and the blanket such a nice staple to have for the baby, thank you for sharing your time and talent with us. BTW your hair is gorgeous.
LOVE the finished sweater! I’m so happy it’s getting cold where I live as well because there’s nothing cozier than knitting in a big sweater with a cup of tea or cocoa. Also your hair looks extra amazing today! 😊
Oh your hairs looks just stunning!!!! I always liked it better dark. It goes with your coloring and the colors that you like to knit. Everything that you knit and crochet is always so inspiring. Thank you for showing us yarns from Norway and teaching us about natural fibers. Take care of that little one soon you will hold her in that beautiful blanket.
For that stretchy yarn, maybe a hat? And you and Nellie could match! Also, another idea is one of those blankets that has a little head at the end (like a rabbit’s head). Maybe you could do something like that too since it is so soft.
Just an idea for that stretchy yarn! I’m wondering if you’d be able to make a car seat cover for the baby. My favorite car seat covers are really stretchy with a hole on top for air flow. I bet that would be so cute and warm! Love your videos ✨
So excited to see all your beautiful projects! So surprised to see we are knitting the same scarf! I needed to knit up a quick Christmas gift for my son’s girlfriend in Germany. Scarf is going so fast! He will be here today and plan on him to take it back home for Christmas! You make me want to cast on all the sweaters!
Thank You for a wonderful way to spend my Sunday morning whilst Kitchener stitching my sweater together. Your podcasts are soo interesting and inspiring. I love seeing your FOs and WIPS. You work is lovely. I always look forward to the scenery at the end of your videos which gives us all a chance “to visit Norway 🇳🇴” from the comfort of our own home. And an added treat today of the Rama shop. A knitters wonderland for sure. Wishing you all the best as you await the arrival of Nellie.
Update to earlier post. I live in the US and was able to purchase this pattern book in English from the site Inga mentioned. It has arrived BEFORE Christmas, and will be my Christmas cast on! Thank you Inga for posting that link!! ClaudiaSJI
I love the patchwork blanket that has the ability to be increased in size by adding more squares. That's a great idea. I do not knit as fast as you but I am in the process of 4 different sweaters at the moment and a baby blanket for our 14th great grandchild which is a little girl named Lilith due February 7th. I also love watching you and seeing all you do. You do a great job
About weaving the ends, I've learned a trick - grab the yarn end when you're knitting the second row and knit double with the yarn end until it disappears. I've been doing it this way since I've learned it and I have not had to weaving in ends again. I've done it with a color work sweater too (the Woodland Knit's Bjork Raglan which I followed your design and yarn choices). It works most of the time :)🧶
Your new sweater looks fabulous and perfect to see you both through the winter!! I thought you were so hilarious how you are having second thoughts towards the gift (intended but.....??) socks b as I can totally relate!!
Keep the socks for yourself ❤ they are very pretty and you will enjoy using them. I wish I had your kitting mojo to have so many wips because I just can't lol I have two at the moment but I guess I am just a slow knitter... Your fjaerde genser is just stunning and I really need that pattern in English.
I don’t know why I never put comments. So sorry. But I found your channel recently and I just binge watch your videos. I have similar taste in colors and fiber :) so I love it 100% of your content. I have been knitting since February so I am a beginner. Something funny, I live in Michigan and we have no yarn shops, not a single one!!!! I have hobby lobby, Michaels, and Joanns.. these are box store craft shops… but 99% of the yarn they sell is acrylic. I did find a yard sale over the state line in Indiana and she had hillesvag tinde and other bases!! I felt like I won the lottery!!! Anywho… I don’t know anyone who knits or crochets so I thought I’d share with you!!! :)
Hi Inga, thanks for taking the time to share with us, I wish I could drive to a wool mill😊, those books looked good at the mill, take care, happy 🧶 knitting.❤
Dear Inga you look so beautiful and healthy, your sweater, hair and makeup are perfect ! Your husband is a lucky man for sure, I hope your baby is doing well. I only crochet but I enjoy your beautiful work, you are a talented woman! Hugs from USA
You’re knitting is such an inspiration! Last January I made the same Biche et Bûche scarf. I think it’s called the Big Autumn Shawl. I used the recommended yarn in a different colour palette and it is one of my favourite pieces that I have ever made. I love it so much that I might knit it again. Enjoy! ❤ P.S. keep all the socks 😂
Thank you for another beautiful podcast! You always inspire me with you knitting joy! I am right there with you! And, oh how I want to visit the Rauma and Hillesvaag mills. And any others in Norway! I wonder if you and Nellie could host a retreat next summer? That would be so lovely! ♥️🐑♥️🐑♥️
@@knittingtraditions That would be lovely! If you ever have the time, I will help you organize this from Westwrn Massachusetts. I bought Hillesvåg feom the mill and I love the yarn I got.
How I love a big high contrast geometric design. The cuffs and the split hem are to be admired. Your stitches are perfect on the 1x1 ribbing! Which is very hard to achieve over a large area.
As an American married to a Finn, I have to say that my kids noticed the Little My cups INSTANTLY in your video. Also, I was knitting and watching when my youngest woke up. She came into the room just in time to see the Rauma mill shop tour at the end. She assumed it was your knitting room and was SUPER impressed!
I’m knitting a blanket for my grandson, and just finished a sweater for my granddaughter. For me, I made a pressed flowers vest, because I decided to double the yarn I was using. I like the best though. Now I plan to make some hats. Granddaughter wants a slipover with ties. I’m loving knitting for her again as I did when she was small. Oooooh that pretty stretchy yarn would make a perfect skirt! Loved all your projects and best wishes with your new baby! ❤ I lived in Norway for 2 years and that's where I learned to knit. My first project was a 2 color Per Gynt sweater, but I didn't know how hard it was and just knitted away 😂 It's been 40 years and I still love that sweater and my beginner mistakes are proof that anyone can learn to knit and love it if they stick with it! Enjoyed your video 😊
Love your hair and colour. Love your handknits. Love your podcast. You will be a great mom. I can't wait to see your baby in all the things you made him or her. I had 4 kids and still found time to knit or craft everyday. Now I have 4 grandchildren and just started a knitting podcast. I only have 2 episodes. Love the knitting community. Hope we can meet in person someday❤
Dear Inga - I agree with all the wonderful comments already here and have given my "thumbs up" to pretty well all of them! I love, love everything about your podcast ... I even watched the footage from your trip to the Rauma Mill twice. Stunning - thank you! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I love the colours you will be using for the scarf and blanket…and definitely with the deep purple/maroon colour added. I can’t wait for Laura to release her cushion and blanket patterns ❤ I am currently knitting hats for my daughter-in-law and 5 month old granddaughter using the Lace Hat and Lace Beanie patterns by Knitting for Olive…it’s such a pretty pattern!
You look lovely, and your hair really looks great with the marroon pattern in the sweater! Regarding Manchelopi, definitely try it, it's very soft! By comparison, Plötulopi feels like hell 😆
Wow--episode 79 already! I finally finished the (large) half and half triangle shawl by Purl Soho! I had that on needles for nearly 6 months. I am knitting all my bulky stash yarn by making the Double Toffler slippers by Sandnes Garn. Thanks so much for translating that pattern! I"m on the 4th pair. Next will be a couple of Purl Soho Watch caps for gifts.
Baby blanket is beautiful! I’ve crocheted many with using squares of different designs sewn together. Your blanket turned out perfect! Keep the socks - you deserve them new mommy. ❤️
Love all of your projects. The sweater turned out great, and that blanket is beautiful! ❤ I just found out this last weekend that I will be a grandmother for the first time! I am so excited. My daughter in law is still in her first trimester so no gender yet. And I don’t know if they’ll tell me, but she can’t keep a secret so I’m sure I will find out and then I can knit gender specific. But she is due in July which is very warm here in Michigan. So I will probably be knitting more for a 4-8 month age for winter next year. I’ve already been on ravelry searching and pinning favorites! I just finished my Lumme sweater by Sari Nordlund, and I’m currently working on the Stripe Hype (sort of stuck on sleeve island a bit) and now I’m working on the Salty Days sweater which I’m really enjoying, both by Kika or Veronica Lindberg.😊 Oh and when I hear that music, if I’m knitting or doing my nails, I always put it down to see the highlights of Norway. Thanks for that. Love it❤
I never (rarely) give away hand knit socks. I feel they are too much work lol. Don’t feel guilty for keeping them! I love your baby blanket! What a lucky baby. Sometime you will have to do a segment of everything you have knit for the baby ( only if you have time for fun). It will be neat to see! Right now I’m knitting another “snowwonder” sweater for my granddaughter. I test knit the first one for my oldest granddaughter. I’m also knitting a ranunculus for my daughter and hoping to make myself another ranunculus! I love seeing your baby bump. You look radiant and beautiful! ❤
You're one of a half-dozen knitters/cricketers that I follow,; I'm Canadian and enjoy hearing from other parts of the world as most likely I'll never get to visit those countries. Anyway, I expect you'll be super busy with your new Little soon so just want to wish you well.
Knitting socks for Christmas presents :) thinking about knitting up the Lumi socks you had shown ages ago for my teenage son who needs surgery on his foot. Hoping if I knit it up larger than his soon to be bandaged up foot that it might be warm enough while he’s on crutches in our soon to be Canadian winter. ❤
I really enjoy watching your episodes, you are making so much lovely things and I always enjoy looking at the yarns you are using. I am working on many christmas gifts but at same time I have so many things I want to knit to myself. But, time is just not enough to knit everything I want 😂

Since you mention it, you're a warm autumn which is exactly what you're doing so just... keep at it lol.
You think😍 thank you its what i want to be haha
Your sweater is stunning! And your hair is so pretty. I think you should keep the socks for yourself since the yarn is special to you! ❤🙂
Takk for en trivelig episode. Gleder meg til å se teppestrikken.
Merci 💗🐑
You're one of a half-dozen knitters/cricketers that I follow,; I'm Canadian and enjoy hearing from other parts of the world as most likely I'll never get to visit those countries.
Anyway, I expect you'll be super busy with your new Little soon so just want to wish you well.
I hate auto correct..... nothing bad against cricketers....lol....but that was supposed to say Crocheters
Thank you so much😘😘😘
Knitting socks for Christmas presents :) thinking about knitting up the Lumi socks you had shown ages ago for my teenage son who needs surgery on his foot.
