Don't feel bad about your acquisition - you deserve every bits of yarn that you can buy since you are working so hard. And you make us discover new mill and brand so it's wonderful. I always enjoy your podcats ! Thanks.

Wonderful episode, Inge. You sometimes apologize for showing acquisitions, but think how nice this is for both your viewers around the world and for the smaller or lesser known spinners or dyers. I live in a small town in the US without any local yarn shops and learn so much about what people are producing and the characteristics of these yarns. I see it as you educating your viewers and helping to promote small and very worthy producers. All the best to you; you are hands (needles) down my favorite podcaster. 🧶❤️🥰

Hi. 2 is the number of yarn plied together. 11.3 is the length in meter, per ply, required to weigh one gram. Is a definition on their website. Farther research on my side the higher the second number/ the meters the better quality. Industry Standard for good quality cashmere is 2/26
You may need a tighter gauge for longer lasting garments

Inga, I love acquisitions! Just have learned so much about other yarns and other types of woolly wool since watching the “acquisitions “ portion of the pod cast. You are very sincere and have never come across as bragging or whatever. Please …….. (if you can afford ) I completely appreciate and enjoy this part of your podcast. As well as all the other parts too. Hugs, ClaudiaSJI

Oh Inge, I placed 2 wool orders in last 24 hours and I was reorganizing my wool room this afternoon I felt so guilty and I told myself that’s it for the next few months no more yarn. I sit tonight to watch you podcast and I get to the acquisition part and boom I order a greasy cone of the most beautiful green “New Lawn” I turned to my husband and said…. It is Inge to blame :)))) desert island yarn is Jamieson and Smith of Shetland I love touching it, knitting with it, smelling it … every thing about it

Thank you for sharing your acquisitions! Through your podcast I have discovered the wonderful world of Holst Garn, Woolly knit and now J. C. Rennie (will definitely try in a near future). I really enjoy your descriptive comments about the yarn you get and it has helped me in the past to choose what kind of yarn I would like to order online. So thank you! 😊

I had Holst on my list, but I have acquired the other 2 you mentioned. I purchased out Wooly Knit using the CREABEA promo and loved it so much I placed another order last night. Also ordered JC Rennie. Holst is on my list, but I really need to slow down. I think I have about 30 cones...minimum. Crazy part is I said I was not going to buy yarn this year.

I love watching your acquisition section because it's often yarn that I don't see much in the US. Your podcast also has made me realize that while I love *looking at* fun and colorful speckled yarns, I really prefer to knit with solids and earthy neutrals. I've even started exploring non-superwash and am loving it. Thank you for sharing your time with us!

I’ll be honest - my favorite part of knitting videos is the acquisition part! I love seeing all the beautiful wools available and especially love your acquisition section since you’re one of the few I watch who is in Europe with all the lovely wools available there! I also love seeing the patterns you find (and knit). They’re beautiful and beautifully done.

Hi Inga, I don’t feel like you’re bragging about purchasing your yarn. You’re showing how passionate you are about your knitting. Also, it’s nice to help us become aware of different brands of yarn that we might otherwise not know about. You’re also putting those yarn producers on the map and helping to promote them by sharing because we may want to try those lovely yarns. You’re awesome, that’s what I think about you and your podcast. You’re very genuine and my blessings be given to you for being you!

Dear Inga, thank you so much for your great podcast! You've brought back the fun and happiness to my knitting. Thank you so much for that! Since my best friend with whom I knitted together a lot died from cancer 6 years ago, knitting didn't bring the joy it used to. For some reason your vlog helped to losen that knot. 😊
Watching this was so much fun.I really enjoyed it a lot. Especially the acquisition part of it. Whatever the rest of the day brings, nothing can take that away. 😍

Thank you for sharing all your projects AND acquisitions. You give us great information on beautiful yarns and inspirational ideas. I have learned so much about how to pair yarns from you. I also agree with the sentiment that you work hard so you should enjoy working with quality yarn to make your beautiful pieces. My husband & I have both worked in health care (one of the most stressful environments). Knitting is so therapeutic. You are kind by sharing some gifted yarn in your giveaways and that is paying it forward as well. 😘

From their website: If the yarn is 1/11.3Nm then you would multiply 11.3m x 765 grams = 8644.5 meters. If the yarn is plied twice (i.e. 2/11.3Nm) then the yarn will be twice as thick and therefore will be twice as short = 4,322.25 meters.

Thanks for sharing it all- I’m another fan of acquisitions too. As it happens (a little guiltily because of SABLE- Stash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy) I just bought yarn to make the Tulip Sweater. I’ve been admiring a shop sample at my favorite local yarn store for weeks and decided to go for it. I bought Lettlopi- olive green and Isager silk mohair in a dark green. And- love your lacy scarf- my opinion- wear it- it’s beautiful and the length will keep you warm. Also- love the yarn shop video and the skiing footage- I’m a skier and love seeing skiing in Norway!

"*mlep* Fiber" (and its derivations) is always one of my favourite and relatable moments in this podcast 😂 I enjoy the acquisitions corner of the podcast -- I feel like it helps me discover new items and think about colourways and fibers in a way I might not otherwise !

I love your videos. Keep showing the yarn you buy. It is very helpful to people that live in other parts of the world. When you mention a yarn I’ll google it to check it out. I’m purchasing some JC Rennie after watching your video. It’s great to see the outside videos also. Thank you

It’s always fun to see what you’ve been making and acquiring. Don’t feel one bit guilty nor do you ever come across as showing off. You work hard and if this gives you pleasure and you can afford it, why not? I think of having lots of yarn choices in my stash as the same thing as a painter having lots of colors of paint to choose from. Another reason I love to see acquisitions is to learn about yarns and dyers that are new to me and it helps to promote them. Your message of kindness to one another and to ourselves is always lovely. Thank you, Inge for sharing so much with us. BTW, love that baby flax sweater. Tin Can Knits has a lot of free patterns that are beautifully written.

I LOVE seeing your acquisitions! Don't apologize! If people don't like, they can turn off, but you earn your money, you spend it how you like to!!! You got me into Nutiden, so maybe I shouldn't be encouraging you,😂😂😂

I really appreciate you trying so many different yarns and patterns...so I don't have to and can make a thrifty choice when I'm online shopping. I actually bought some oily yarn from colour mart last fall to make a Christmas gift and I straight up never finished it because of the oil. I wasn't just smelling it. It was on my hands and after an hour I could even taste it in my mouth every time I knit with it no matter how careful I was to not touch anything else while I was knitting. I don't know I'm just sensitive or that supplier has more spinning oil than others but as lazy as I am I will 100% make skeins and prewash before knitting greasy yarn again.

Loved this episode, and I appreciated your lace shawl made as a teenager. You’re obviously gifted in more ways than one. I’ve also taken on your outlook of avoiding superwash. Also, please don’t apologize for your acquisitions because you’re entitled to rewarding yourself and I appreciate your gift of enabling. Thank you for all you do 🤩
