Hi sir. I am a huge fan just a quick question. What is your opinion of HTPC im looking to build one from scratch. I have priced one out with pcpartpicker but my issue is the software installation and collaboration. I would like to completely replace my xbox console for 4k gaming with the htpc I also want to add emulators streaming, HD cable tuner, music and 4k movies. With smooth function so a kid can navigate it. I saw the perfect idea of what want but the guy isnt giving to much info on his build. Do you have an idea of how to get me there. Also on top of that I have audio questions do i need a separate audio receiver or can i run it all from the HTPC ua-cam.com/video/X5wZ_9LEqPk/v-deo.html
So, I am having a little issue that I am hoping someone can share some light on. I have a Denon 1300 Receiver that handles all Dolby formats including Atmos, and I have an NVidia Shield Pro connected to it and yes, it has been patch to support Dolby Atmos. However, the issue that I am having is that when I try to stream from Netflix, all the titles shows at 5.1. I do not see any distinction in audio formats, for instance if I play a movie from the Netflix app built in the TV it will display Dolby + or DD depending on the stream but with the shield there is no difference. so Netflix has on movie that is in Dolby Atmos but when playing it from the shield still says 5.1 and the receiver does not shows to be receiving or decoding atmos at all. Therefore, here is the monkey wrench, when I play atmos files from plex through the same shield everything works fine, telling me that as far as pass-through everything looks to be configured just right. Any ideas why the Netflix app is not detecting that the shield can pass thought atmos. My son has an LG TV that supports Dolby vision and when plays Netflix, on the title actually shows Dolby vision. Please Help
can anyone comment on the wireless streaming quality of this media player? when connected to a local media server via wifi, does it play hd files smooth or is there buffering?
The wireless streaming quality is great thanks to it's quality processor which is said to be the best and most powerful currently on the market. I have no complaints about mine, especially because it streams Kodi quite well and that to be is the best test.
will it play Amazon instant video? getting Amazon and Netflix on the same device seems to be a challenge, except for a Roku or a full-up console like Xbox one...
The ability to sideload apps means that you can install pretty much anything, including Amazon instant video. All you need is the apk file. Popular streamers like the roku don't allow you to easily install unsupported apps.

I'm pretty sure I was able to sideload it on my minix. I will double check
GOOGLE NVIDIA SHIELD TV CUSTOM ROM. Full android on this box.
.....And best of all won't play SRT external subtitles,too bad.
