The Genesis GV80 review is coming soon! Until then, what do you think of the GRAND CHEROKEE? I have to be honest, Jeep really surprised me with this one!
Currently driving the 22 Summit Reserve & so far have no regrets! It’s been 4 months of pure comfort, safety, and technology!! Jeep really hit the nail on this one! Love the air suspension, night vision, and camera mirror!
I just bought one myself. The interior blew me away. Every creature comfort you can imagine. It reminds me of the Range Rover Sport except not as expensive. The air suspension makes the ride really stand out.
I love watching videos like this because you are so comfortable sharing your knowledge, it comes off in a very natural and informative manner. And the way you did the comparo with the Genesis was as evenhanded and fair as any I've ever seen. Thanks much.
11:35 scared the heck out of me, lol. And you must either be an audiophile of the highest degree or not at all. It's a freakin' McIntosh! If that system isn't one of the best you've ever experienced...your ears are broken. I tested all the vehicles you mentioned, as well as the Lincoln Aviator and Range Rover Velar. Full disclosure, I wanted the Aviator, but the build time as of Oct 1 is 22-24 weeks out (ouch). Second on my list was the Summit Reserve. I should note here that this came down to a spreadsheet I put together with a 40-point scoring matrix (I'm an analyst, I can't help it). Long story short, when my wife and I both did a blind rating of all vehicles, the Lincoln was #1, Jeep was #2 and the GV80/X5/GLE/XC90 were all within a few points of each other...the Velar was dead last. - The GV80 was super sharp looking, just didn't have the same tech and features (though the interior is Ah-mazing). Also, build time was 7+ months - The Velar just didn't offer much of anything other than cool looks and "driving a Range Rover." - The Volvo. I'm not a fan of the minimal design, and thought the infotainment was terrible. - And when it comes to the the BMW and MB...they just seem so boring and commonplace. "Oh, you're doing well and live in the burbs? Here's your standard issue German midsize..." I should also note that price wasn't even factored into this...just tech, materials, features, functionality, and (ultimately) availability. Nor was performance, I can drive fast in my sports car. I know many might disagree, that's fine. To each their own. Ultimately, I was dazzled by the materials and tech in the Summit Reserve. As well as the delivery date of a 2023 in 10 weeks. And, honestly, I'll probably own this for two years, then trade it in for something a bit more refined. The Jeep was just the highest on my list that I could get before the snow falls. If Genesis offers better tech and more custom trims in the next generation, I'll probably go with the GV80 next.
Thanks for your super in-depth comment, always love to get insight from viewers and hear what they think about the cars I review. Your rating of these cars seems to be spot on, although I haven't tested the Aviator or Velar yet but your assessment is close to what I expected these SUVs to fair like. Luxury mid-size SUVs are just so good right now that I can see the Velar struggle to stand out. "standard issue German midsize" - definitely stealing that phrase! Regarding the audio system I have to admit that I am a bit of an audiophile. But with how good these systems in modern cars are I find it often comes down to personal preference. Some like a lot of bass, some don't. I really like more of a flat, clear audio experience which the McIntosh didn't quite deliver on. Still a great system though. I'm sure you will love the Grand Cherokee, it's a fantastic vehicle. Did you get the V6 or V8 if I might ask? Also glad I got you with that surprise handling test, hah!
Great review. I just bought the Summit. It blew me away. I also own a 2019 Grand Cherokee Limited and its been a great SUV, super comfortable and only 30k miles on it. I'm giving it to my daughter. The Summit however is a major step up and of course much more expensive. I bought one with literally every option and it stickered for $74k. Yikes! However the dealership was offering 10% off the sticker so that brought it down to $66,600. Still expensive but its a lot of car. I did not get the hemi engine as imo is it didn't make sense for just 50 additional horses. I have a different color interior than this video which is too mustard but that's just personal taste. The wood grain is something you notice right away because of how impressive it is. I've owned many SUV's including Mercedes and Lexus and I like Grand Cherokee the best. The Summit is the pinnacle of the Grand Cherokee lineup. If you can swing it I would strongly recommend having it on your short list of luxury SUV's.
Thank you! And thanks also for sharing your experience with your Grand Cherokee! You definitely made the right choice by going for the V6 over the HEMI, it's one of the few flaws I was able to find with this Cherokee Summit Reserve.
Amazing video and a great review. really enjoyed watching but I really wished you'd shown the gauge cluster when accelerating, But non the less great work.
Thank you for your feedback, glad you enjoyed the videos! I can totally understand that you would like to see the gauge cluster during the acceleration test, but there are "reasons" as to why I can't show it unfortunately.
Great review! Does the night vision only apply to the front facing camera? I do a lot of camping I would love to be able to do a 360 degree scan for unfriendlies~ thank you
Thanks a lot! As the night vision requires a fairly expensive infrared camera it is only available in the front. But I like your idea of having a 360° view for camping... Maybe in a few years time!
$87K. Please say Canadian?……I specked out a SR with every package available and best I could get was about $80K and that’s the SR package, high Altitude, rear seat entertainment and passengers side display…..even the HEMI which was available in 2022 but special order for 2023 models about $82K US
As much as it pains me to say but I wouldn't spec the HEMI. The V8 was quite disappointing in terms of power numbers and fuel economy, which makes the V6 a better choice. But I would pick the Grand Cherokee for it's tech, comfort and the fact that it's made domestically!
Good blog dear.........I want to purchase this vehicle I'm from India in India this one is available in 2.0 petrol with 8 speed automatic & the model name is Grand Cherokee limited model with black interior 5 seater option at a price point of 82,000 dollars (aprx) ex-showroom.....what u suggest bro
Thanks a lot! I'm not too familiar with the Indian market and how much taxes you have to pay based on displacement / fuel consumption. I imagine the 2.0L will feel somewhat slow, but if the Indian Grand Cherokee is similar to the Canadian model it will still be quite the fantastic vehicle!
Most the hate I think is their drastic change in identity. It's supposed to be THE staple American suv, but the avg American can no longer afford these vehicles because they're designed more luxury oriented now. Regardless, they are incredibly awesome
I have the same Summit but the L. I am disappointed with the Hemi V8. Underpowered and crap fuel efficiency. Jeep really should not have released it until the hurricane Engines came out. Breaking is mediocre as well.
I wonder if they're going to put the Hurricane into this generation of Grand Cherokee soon, or if we will have to wait for a mid-cycle refresh. Either way I think it will really help it to stand out even more!

Would you chose this as a daily commute & Off road vehicle over Range Rover Sport!?
Genesis just needs more dealerships..always helps.

i heard its not reliable.. is that true?

@@treydrier3169 exactly my thought! Actually even looks like a RR Sport but less expensive

Great review sir, for this awsome new grand cherokee 👍
Thank you!

The big difference between the 3.6 and 5.7 is the Hemi has 130 lb/ft more torque.
@@mowcowbell Yes and that is a big difference. But I don't plan on towing anything which is where the torque really makes most sense.

Good and fair review
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! The aforementioned GV80 review should be up tomorrow 👍🏻
Would love to see you review the Grand Wagoneer! You do such an awesome job!
Working on getting my hands on one for this fall or winter. Thanks a lot!
How delayed is the infotainment system / touch screen? Doesn’t look instantaneous?
The first time you go through the menus after starting the car it can be a little laggy, but after that it is fairly responsive.
Great review
Thank you kindly!

Where's the rear entertainment center for that money that should be included

Great review 🙌🏽 what camera do you use for your reviews ?
Thanks a lot! I use a Panasonic Lumix GX85 in combination with a GoPro Hero 10 & Hero 5 :)

Over 90K out the door. Jeep Grand Cherokee. Just,, WOW
It’s the American Range Rover

It definitely was quite the change of character from one generation to the next.
Why no check on 3 Rd row comfort..it is utter waste like last gen caddy escalade..
You're looking for the Grand Cherokee L. This is the regular Grand Cherokee that only has two rows.
@@GCCarsCA
Oh.sorry..really confusing with similar names
Pretty laggy like two gens ago. Last gen is instant.
Everything is a gimmick if you're not used to using it, just like way back when wireless charging was a gimmick, now it's not cuz people use it.
That's true!
y'all think dodge will one day put a SRT in this beauty??
Sure hope so! And I'm pretty confident that we will see another Grand Cherokee SRT.

It will cost $10k in 5-6 years

Where do they get these price almost 90k for that😂😂😂 it will be falling apart in a couple of years.
