You mentioned that the fuel capacity is 104 litres. This is not correct and has been recently amended by Jeep Australia. I pointed this out in a letter to their CEO and they agreed their information was incorrect and they’ve updated their specifications to show that the fuel tank capacity is actually 87 litres.

Lucky you, you get the V6 and the "L" at least. Over here in EU/Germany it's only the 2.0 turbo-4cyl PHEV non-L (5seats, short version) for a hefty price increase. The "old" (last gen.) GC WK2 Summit Diesel had a list price of ~75K Euro (street/dealer price ~55 K Euro), for the PHEV now the call is for ~95K Euro. No diesel anymore, no V6 or V8 - I'm out. No SRT anymore too.
They made the same error with the steering wheel heating in the Maserati too. What a fail. I thought another reason they chose not to install buttons as it was cheaper to make icons and move things around in the UI to localise content. What a shame.
The off-road and tech features are great. The in-line 6 hurricane is coming. Yes, have a 2023 Limited L. And love it. Live in serious snow country and it is great in the snow and carriers a lot of ski and camping gear
wow i love the look of this car especially in this gray colour they also offered a short wheelbase version but it's not available in australia just yet
Here's a little nugget that I tell people about Subaru that translates to this vehicle in that the safety is even more important when slowing down. In the sensor activated systems, there is that millisecond when it's in 2wd, because that is the one that matters when it comes to confident feel on snow, ice or wet.
The full size spare would be pointless if i am not mistaken. Especially if it has the same alloy. If you run a cherokee with different wheel size you burn the diff or the system running your 4x4. You need to run evenly used/ same mileage tires or the system thinks one is running faster than the other and starts sending power differently. This was at least with tje older gens. So a spare should not be used long… but i could be mistaken.
its a Fiat, towtruck and mechanics dream, gives them a lot of work and makes them rich, I was up early last week when I noticed a reversing truck backing up thinking what's going on, it was the neighbours jeep being returned to him on the back of a tow truck
At 87 Liters, the fuel tank is too small for a big car with below-par fuel economy. Fill-ups for most sub-urban to work commutes will be 2 or 3 times a week.
Hi Paul, could please add airbags configuration details to you check list. I believe that safety is the most important factor to consider when someone is buying a car.
I own the previous model and I love it! Looks like the Grand Jeep in Australia is going the way of the Doe Doe bird🦅 People will just buy the new V6 diesel Ford Everest instead and I wouldn’t blame them as it is a great vehicle with 3.5 tons towing capacity.
This was a disaster not offering a V8 crazy the V6 is rubbish and meant for people who have not got a clue, like those people who don't even under stand difference between diesel or petrol. That's who they are targeting. You wouldn't buy this asking 100K + this is crazy ,you can buy a BMW X5 or New Defender they are bother much superior in all areas for a little bit more. You wouldn't even buy JGC L in a fire sale with the V6 petrol as it is not powerful enough and it uses too much fuel , it's a joke . Jeep Australia took away the V8 and are charging 30% more for a rubbish underpowered, basic and slow V6. Can't tow as much as the V8 of and of course they were hoping a jeep customer Aussies wouldn't notice the awful underpowered of the V6 . Crazy these won't sell like the V8 did. The poor build quality in 2022 is unacceptable and terrible .Jeep had a really big chance for this to shine but cut corners over charged all of you for an inferior engine that was dirt cheap for them to chuck in this, hoping customers won't notice it because of the new exterior facelift. The V8 version should have been here and priced under 100 k drive away but no they got really greedy this time and chucked a rubbish NA V6 petrol in that is way under powered for this heavy vehicle and made it so you can't tow as much as the older models this is just bonkers and nuts . Avoid it !
This could certainly do with an amended version, engine swap and so due diligence and quality control and it would be worth it. Just remember the top spec 300 series is 150k plus. I'd wait 12months and see what happens, this seems rushed.
Called a slug, but goes onto pull off an 8.2 to 100 which is better than most of the times coming out of the new v6 ranger that has just been tested with 600nm ..... a little bit skewed
Paul is reviewing a partially refurbished car...Its like Jeep took the car from Jeeps Crash test and they just added panels here and there and shipped it to AUS
you need to give these a chance, it’s a fresh platform and the first few sold will find the issues and then they can improve, it’s a good platform and the interior is nice. this thing when ironed out will be on another level of the palisade and kluger. can’t bag out a platform that is new and still being improved. still a good review paul!
Thing is though they should be ironed out already if you're forking out 115k for one, especially regarding panel missalignment and gaps. The Japanese or South Koreans would never do such a shitty job.....for a lot less mind you!
@@givvia6782 ever heard the term “built on a friday”. that’s this car. i’ve test driven one of these in a lower trim and it had no panel gap issues or quality issues that this one has. this one could be a one off. everything on the one i test drove worked flawlessly. just wish there was a different engine option available!
@@rforracemode5846 Good to hear that you had a positive experience with the one you test drove. However 'Built on a Friday' shouldn't exist on a vehicle pushing six figures especially from a brand as established as Jeep. 77 years is long enough to wait for poor build quality and even poorer quality control to be 'ironed out'!
This vehicle has been available in USA for ages. Clearly, quality control is non existent, considering they let this vehicle leave the factory with the mis aligned panels, and other issues.. Jeep Australia let this be a press car, without fixing these problems. CRAZY !
Hello Paul i was told by our local mechanic not to buy a jeep , to hard to fix if it goes wrong , so i dont mind to look of some of them ,but ill stick with my Subaru Outback . thanks steve/Geraldton
I think 8 sc ,0-100 is good Which mens that power is ok ; it is just that the peaky v6 needs to be revved out to move which is not how you drive a bus like that. This car does not need more power but needs a turbo smaller engine to get the torque at lower rev band
Jeep have priced themselves out of the market. We had and loved our 2012 Jeep GC Limited. No issues. Even if you take out build quality issues, there a so many other cars I would buy for that same money before I even considered the Jeep. They just have no idea of their place in the market. $100k+ is way over the mark.
Looking forward to a off road test, unless you have already done one. Overall a very nice looking SUV but the fit and finish and build quality are a let down… any idea when the NA V6 might be replaced or joined by a turbo or PHEV
Great review. I own the Grand Cherokee Diesel...pretty pokey on the open raod and great for towing. I think Jeep will lose market share in the caravan sector tht will possibly be picked up by the next gen Ford Everest
Also have a V6 Diesel GC, '20 model, definitely have the Everest on the radar as a replacement in a few years. Curious to know though, does yours have a shocking throttle delay? Test drive cars had none, but upon delivery ours has been awful. Throttle controller does not remedy the issue. Jeep say it's just how they are, and a local tuning mob have said it only came about with the change to the AdBlue V6s. The lag isn't so problematic on the highway, but around town (especially roundabouts) it's just dangerous.
I would not have said the Kluger is a competitor at all. But I would have listed the Land Rover Discovery. Where’s the reversing test?? And the structural rigidity test (open close door while parked on opposite wheels off the ground)?
I so wanted to replace my 2012 overlander with 240000k with this (best car ever btw). Saw one at a farm show. Was interested until the towing capacity and price were mentioned. This car will be a disaster for Jeep Australia with that towing capacity. I’ve decided to hold onto the overlander until the new Everest platinum lands. Save $30k and keep the ability to tow the horse float. This Jeep is a bad joke with that engine.
I currently have a Grand Cherokee and was looking forward to the release of this model. Price, engine and towing capacity make it a big fat no from me. I’ll hold out for the new Everest and then compare it to the Patrol.
I saw Doug's video of this (hybrid one) today. I was actually quite impressed by it, though I wish they gave us the 5-seater. However, I remember back to the 2011 Grand Cherokee my dad had, and it had poor build quality among other issues. Looks like that hasn't changed.
This is first run on a new model and it's got a tiny misalignment on the tailgate and a tight cover on the centre console and this makes this car terrible. I'm telling I have seen some poor panel gapes on landcruisers, but OMG, not the landcruiser, they are absolutely perfect. Also you have to go back 11 years.
I'm sorry, but the infotainment is not snappy. If it does not compete with an A15 bionic or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 responsiveness then it is not snappy. I am not sure why there is such a delay in scrolling through menu's in 2022.
I love my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Altitude X, seems like only UA-camrs can find these "build quality" issues lol some people just love hating Jeep 🤷
Fuel prices are a reality check for many. But is you can afford it or use tax write-offs, it won't the problem that the other deficits that this vehicle seems to have.
I agree with Paul, wouldn't buy one either and I'm a Jeep GC fan. Not a fan of there V6 petrol, poor towing numbers. But this is primary a family mover, not a caravan hauler, this may come with other models. Why wouldn't Jeep at least have the 5.7L hemi as an option, stupid. Boy, the big carry on about a slight panel gap on the tail gate, most likely can be adjust out, but what a carry on by all these so called Jeep experts, just the normal sheep, I'm telling you can find some imperfections on any car. That's why I would never buy a first run on a completely new model. Also far too much money for me.
Why would anyone buy this heap , no power no tow vehicle over 100k Jeep has always been crap 💩 now they have confirmed what everyone thinks Plus the Jeep brand is a dud

Yeah just like the Toyota 2.8 diesel in the Hilux, Fortuna and Prado with its DPF class action. Ohh but wait, we can’t say anything bad about Toyota now can we.
Thanks for the review. I had high hopes for this but after watching your review it's dead to me :) plus 115K- 120K price tag?! to buy a JEEP?!!! people must be crazy to even shortlist this for that kind of price
During long motorway drives, I rest my elbow on the dashboard. It’s just so comfortable.
Thank you for testing the softness there :)
Great review as always 🎉
This car cannot be more American, luxury from inside, looks fabulous from outside but the panels don’t line up 😊
They made the same error with the steering wheel heating in the Maserati too.
No hellcat engine
No grand wagoneer coming to Australia
No Deal
Their dreaming, that they want 6 figures for this
when a car has that autonomous or semi autonomous parking, can you come up with some sort of demonstration to test this? Love your videos Paul
I think we need to send this one back Paul, definitely not moving with the times
Beautiful SUV. I will wait for the trailhawk.
wow i love the look of this car especially in this gray colour they also offered a short wheelbase version but it's not available in australia just yet
It definitely looks good in person!
Isn't the discovery its proper rival?
Hey Paul, would it be possible for you to review the DT Ram 1500, preferably the limited trim, thanks. 😊
Better than defender??
Here's a little nugget that I tell people about Subaru that translates to this vehicle in that the safety is even more important when slowing down. In the sensor activated systems, there is that millisecond when it's in 2wd, because that is the one that matters when it comes to confident feel on snow, ice or wet.
It is unclear what you are saying, but if it is a comment on the safety of 4WD, then it's important to remember that all cars have 4-wheel braking.
115,000? Um no. My pick at that price would be a 2020 Audi Q7
That or touareg.
Paul's comments on Poor build quality from our American allies could fracture the Aukus partnership 😀 .
🤣🤣🤣
OK, that's it, I'm deleting you of my speed dial!
Very nice independent review, agreed with all drawbacks
Great review, I do love the verdict, rough workmanship as its tradition
Does the grand Gerokee handle better that the ford Everest
My wifes 2021 grand cherokee L. When on quarter tank fuel the remote start stops working and power steering goes out. Any reason why
Stunned in 2022, they produce any car with such poor panel fit...it's stupidity or arrogance?
Both !!
At 87 Liters, the fuel tank is too small for a big car with below-par fuel economy. Fill-ups for most sub-urban to work commutes will be 2 or 3 times a week.
Like Harley's, I want to love Jeeps, but I can't be seen in public with one, especially in Australia.
Would you say that it has gone forwards in technology but backwards in other areas? It's a no for me. Excellent non biased review as always, thanks.
You don’t need to go 600mm deep in water to break things in a Jeep. Just driving on main roads is more than enough.
Great review as always mate!
I have two Questions please?
Massage any good compared to recent reviews?
Stereo in this vs model Y?
Cheers!
Another amazing review.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice suv, but they build it with the steering wheel on the wrong side. You might want to let them know.
Problem is the 300 series is rubbish and overpriced. And you can’t even buy it currently.
Will you review the 2022 Jeep compass?
it does need an extra 50kw / 100nm more power, still don't know why FCA haven't put a V6 diesel in at least
I can't imagine anyone would be so stupid to pay over $ 100 grand for one of those heaps of grap.
Is this a factory RHD or is it done by a third party once it arrives in Australia?
Not surprised about panel gaps since it’s a FCA project.
@@givvia6782 ever heard the term “built on a friday”. that’s this car. i’ve test driven one of these in a lower trim and it had no panel gap issues or quality issues that this one has. this one could be a one off. everything on the one i test drove worked flawlessly. just wish there was a different engine option available!
are palisade and kluger 120K ?
@@rforracemode5846 Good to hear that you had a positive experience with the one you test drove. However 'Built on a Friday' shouldn't exist on a vehicle pushing six figures especially from a brand as established as Jeep. 77 years is long enough to wait for poor build quality and even poorer quality control to be 'ironed out'!
This vehicle has been available in USA for ages.
Clearly, quality control is non existent, considering they let this vehicle leave the factory with the mis aligned panels, and other issues..
Jeep Australia let this be a press car, without fixing these problems.
CRAZY !
2L water bottle: That's the size of typical American coffee 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Finally. Been waiting for this review🔥.
Hello Paul i was told by our local mechanic not to buy a jeep , to hard to fix if it goes wrong , so i dont mind to look of some of them ,but ill stick with my Subaru Outback . thanks steve/Geraldton
I think 8 sc ,0-100 is good
Which mens that power is ok ; it is just that the peaky v6 needs to be revved out to move which is not how you drive a bus like that.
6200 with the V6 7200 tow with the V8 no diesels
@@youtubecarspottersguide1 No V8 in Australia only V6.
Grand cherokee 2 row coming soon ?
I'm sorry, but the infotainment is not snappy. If it does not compete with an A15 bionic or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 responsiveness then it is not snappy. I am not sure why there is such a delay in scrolling through menu's in 2022.
Not to mention Jeep havent had a map update for its uconnect since 2016.
I love my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Altitude X, seems like only UA-camrs can find these "build quality" issues lol some people just love hating Jeep 🤷
We need the V8.
Me: Sees Jeep in the title😒
I went ahead and got palisade 2023 rather than jeep. I liked jeep but cant trust the brand due to issues with jeep cherokee l in usa
great review. how are the dealers gonna turn this one around? Paul just basically wrote their resignation letter right here ahaha
Very nice car and i am glad i got mine.
My Honda Civic 2.2 i-CDTi does 340NM, shocking that such a big modern-day car has such little power from gas-guzzling petrol motor.
What is the thing hanging under the front bumper in front of the wheel? What is that for??? 🤔
I think its a mud flap
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ give my that pual for my birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁
Why would anyone buy this heap , no power no tow vehicle over 100k Jeep has always been crap 💩 now they have confirmed what everyone thinks
Plus the Jeep brand is a dud
