The concept of Outbreak makes me think of what Tranzit could've been if the hardware was permitting at the time. A big open world Zombies map with side quests and ways to traverse the massive map previously not seen in Zombies before
I don't think Tranzit and Outbreak had the same design objectives. Tranzit is still a survival map while Outbreak is designed around completing objectives. The vehicles in Outbreak are a power fantasy that allows you to mow down zombies when you want. The Tranzit bus is not a power fantasy. You are supposed to feel desperate against the increasing hordes of zombies overwhelming the bus. That feeling of being a regular person outnumbered and trying to survive is an important part of classic zombies that Outbreak doesn't even try for. Outbreak is a military operation where your only concern is completing the objectives. Theres no worry about surviving since all you can do is just stay in an area where you've cleared the zombies and you're 100% safe. I like both modes but I disagree that Outbreak is what Tranzit was trying to be. Tranzit is a real zombie survival map. Outbreak is a fun spin-off mode made entirely from recycled multiplayer content.
Hey sorry about taking this video down yesterday. A lot of the footage was corrupted and looked wrong, so I re-edited it with the help of my girlfriend Chantelle last night. Hopefully you like it
27 minutes in you kinda repeated what you said about their being more objectives then maps so it rotates the cycle and you're always playing something different (x2)
Cold War having free updates for Zombies really brought the game up big time and I hope future zombies modes do the exact same thing. Zombies can have paid DLC but that’s should be things that are remakes of older maps like the maps in BO3 and before.
I rather pay for DLC than get soulless facility maps like cold war had. From northern france through morg city, austrian alps, japanese swamp, stalingrad, and finally space to now getting “firebase Z” with no characters or interesting story. Big pass for me
@@armyofuno8196 Now compare that city to shadows of evil and you’ll understand the drop in quality. A facility under nacht? One of the laziest thing i’ve seen since they already did a facility under one of the older maps (blood of the dead) so where is the creativity here? Idk what mall you’re talking about but im gonna guess the teleporter simulator in forsaken. Idk no hate towards your opinion, but i really think they lost all creativity and personality in cold war.
@filaaa2171 so you're only counter point is that's in a city and a mall? Neglecting the details like how the city is blocked off and war torn, or how the mall is used by the soviets as a training ground and a holding place for a demon. I can make moon sound boring too, by saying it's a barren map with no color and just halls, and how area 51 is only a small segment of the base.
@@peterk9166this take is horrendous🙏😭 maur der toten was hella detailed from the underground subway to the war torn east Berlin. Saying that all the maps are just boring facility’s just shows you never played Cold War or went for the Easter eggs.
I would have liked Firebase z better if they set it at night making it more of a goal to keep power on so your not in pitch black dark also hopefully making training in one of the many open areas have to be a little more engaging while not reworking the map layout.
This is the game that got me back into call of duty after a 9 year absence, I was never this into it again but I’m glad it helped me rediscover my inner child
@@Blue_Mr_Gutsyyou have to upgrade them while in a match then again the next match, essentially adding to getting fully loaded out. Though I will say cw upgrades sucked to me as after getting them theirs no point, completely forgot the upgrade system was even a thing when a new friend of mine got cw.
@@Blue_Mr_Gutsyupgrading in game rather then in menu is literally what a survival mode is about you are supposed to start with nothing on round 1 and build yourself up to op level by high rounds vanguard had the right idea just bad execution on a bad game
Cold war is what I put the most time into. Having everything be able to be upgraded (weapon types, field upgrades, perks, etc.) Gave them all a sense of progression. Every weapon was viable in some sense too. Even more zombies camos, playing zombies to fill up tiers in the battle pass on case you were tired of mp, having all your camos available, blueprints and specific kits you make available when you pick up a gun. There was just so much to it. Definitely my favorite zombies experience.
Oh and outbreak was great imo. It was a separate entire mode with its own Easter eggs. If you played and completed the season passes then you'd get mix tapes which had their own licensed songs on them, having them play while you're in a vehicle was fun. I had that anime girl skin on the giant cargo vehicle blasting music. It was refreshing to have so much space and a big place to explore. It was just a nice change to the classic formula. It being an extra mode is nice, it wasn't the only option you had.
@@mexmenderpa big place to explore? There was nothing to explore. It's zombies on a big map for no reason. If you were to put outbreak on a smaller map, it would play exactly the same.
Bo1 was such a better game and it came out a decade before cold war, the fact that nobody notices this is insane. I guarantee if Bo1 came out tday every other game and map would die, since everyone would all go back to Bo1.
Upgrade menus might just be the worst addition ever implemented into zombies, ever. Genuine question, how did you actually enjoy having to grind 40+plus exfils for just basic gameplay features
I miss the old zombies formula where we played as characters with personalities and the maps had personality as well. The maps in Cold War Zombies didn't have any personality imo. I also think Cold War Zombies was fun but just too easy and not much of a challenge. I mean we can easily purchase ammo, buy every single perk on the map, buy armor with jugg, have special abilities, etc. I think Bo3 was too complex for the casual players but at least it had character. I think we need to find middle ground in between those two games.
In my opinion, I think zombies in Spaceland is the best COD zombies map when it comes to gameplay and balancing decisions. It hits the sweet spot of being challenging but fun and fair, and the map is designed in such a way that both casual and hardcore players can enjoy it. For the players who enjoy a good challenge and/or enjoy doing Easter eggs can try and do the main boss fight quest (which is a pain in the ass btw lol) and get rewarded by getting access to double PaP and even getting to play as David Hasselhoff, you can also try and do the ghost and skulls side EE to get Perkaholic. But the casual player can also enjoy playing the map. You can easily turn on the power to the entire map and set up all the portals very early on into the game, get access to PaP, get all the perks and weapons that you need and then you're good to go!
Society would've been much different had Shadows of Evil released with side survival maps like Town, made out of the different SOE districts. I still think they kinda wasted Shadow's lore and potential. Like we could've gotten much more out of Morgue City and those characters. The map we got is great but we could've gotten so much more.
@@Mr_toaster-hu7lg lmao yes mestopholies was a pain in the ass. I love infinite warfare zombies. hopefully in the future they continue iw zombies storyline
this video is criminally underviewed. i just reinstalled cold war and have been replaying all the maps after a bo3 binge, ghey genuinlly added so many needed quality of life changes. this is coming from me and im an origins loyalist
2 big features I think you forgot is exfiling and the rampage inducer. Finally we got a chance to end the game in a satisfying way when it was convenient for us. Also for the people who wanted the game to be more challenging they could use the rampage inducer. Although I must admit I wish it had a middle setting. Cuz round 1 zombies with round 55 speed was kinda too aggressive imo but hey some people could still work with that
i don't care if people dislike die maschine, i love that map and it is intentionally made easy which is really fun to sit back and enjoy a game of zombies every once in a while
I will forever stand by the statement that cold war had the most fun and engaging player experience out of every zombies game. It never felt like a chore leveling up and upgrading your perks or weapon classes and it gave you more than just "Survive as long as possible". The maps were obviously subpar but if cold war had zombies chronicles 2 it would go down as one of the best
@@Squiddy-go1du not rly. I try my best to only buy the 4 perks. The zombies are legit friendly. Slide through a horde of zombies and u might just get hit once. Run beside a train of zombies at bo3 or previous black ops and u are near death
So what do you mean by peak because cold war had peak gameplay, peak replayability, peak perks, peak weapons, peak upgrades, peak abilities, peak camo's and even peak custom weapon use. So what game do you call peak and what is peak about it.
I’ve always really enjoyed cold war zombies, but it does tend to feel easy after you have got your perks and abilities all upgraded. I’ve been tempted to make a second profile where I don’t unlock anything for if I want it to feel a bit harder and more traditional
@@jjmcnamara5236you can’t just get rid of armor though. If you don’t have armor on high rounds then zombies are gonna 2 hit down you with jug on round 60. The zombie pathing is also designed to be very aggressive so it’s extremely hard not to get hit unlike the older games.
To me, I could never get behind the Cold War zombies wave. I liked the simplicity of the older zombies games. Bo3 was great too but I think the sliding mechanic made the mode substantially easier. The reason games like counterstrike have a die hard fanbase for 10ish years is because they stick with what works and don’t make drastic changes to the way the game plays. With every new call of duty title it’s more or less a gamble wether you will enjoy the game or not.
@@FatManJackson here is the thing. For some ppl hard= not fun and for other ppl hard=fun. Therefore as a selling point bo3 was the best considering it could attract both types of payers since it was easier but still hard. However even tho i think that hard is fun i still enjoyed black ops 3 more because zombies are quite repetitive. However in bo1 since it was harder it also took more time to get to high rounds. Therefore for the average guy that doesnt pay all day long you would literally get stuck on lets say round 50 because you dont have time to pay more while on bo3 round 100 can be abt 5 hrs in some maps which makes it doable for ppl that have time on a weekend. This way rounds pass faster while still keeping a good amount of challenge
Cold War is absolutely the best COD Zombies since BO3 and is easily Top 3 Zombies. I’ve been playing this version of zombies ever since, haven’t gone back to the older games or played too many customs, I’ve just been playing Cold War for my zombies itch and it’s still fun.
I agree completely except for the story and choice of map locations but those 2 things I mention are easily outweighed by cold wars awesome mechanics and gameplay.
If you go back and take Black Ops 1 seriously you will never be able to look at another zombies game again. After getting to round 50+ on some of those Bo1 maps you just felt this extreme sense of accomplishment that I really doubt any of the other games can even come close to...
See if there's one complaint about the game being too easy I never understand is when people complained that you can buy all the perks even though people have been begging to not have a 4 perk limit for like ever
The over 4 perks feels unearned is the main problem. Other maps like origins have a mini easter egg to get above the 4 perks with dig spots or in Green Run buying tombstone.
Yeah, i've ALWAYS wanted the Perk limit to be gone. I get why it's there right, like I know it's a "pick and choose" kinda system, but. seeing as CW went with almost an RPG approach (and being a big RPG Fan, but also a big COD Zombies Fan) it makes sense to become OP, or as close to OP as possible, eventually and so, I like that you can have all Perks and Triple Pack and Armor and all that stuff. It's nice to start from nothing and eventually, have everything.
@@Noobish_Camper55the problem with origins is that it was annoying instead of having a skilled difficulty. While cold war just makes sense sure maybe they could add something into the game to increase your perk limit but it has to be map universal.
I'm honestly glad that they made the game easy Because this game is just a game I wanted to toss on and play without needing to think too much, because I already have a life that stresses me out enough So I guess this is just saying something about the people who want a harder game mode But I'm personally happy this game is easier and more casual, made the game much more relaxing, in a world where everything these days needs to be hard and competitive
I remember when I first saw my brother playing it on Xbox One. Played it a few hours and already bought it few days after on PC. Still playing it till today. Another welcoming addition was music tapes (especially because of old tracks from Black Ops 1, with easter egg songs)!
Cold war zombies is honestly one of my favorites in all of zombies. And yes, I played every cod zombies. It's just that cold war zombies had so much QOL that I always thought would be good if they were added.
Idk I feel crazy saying this but WAW zombies will always be my favorite. It’s the most unsettling and empty zombies. It really feels like the end of the world and it’s gore and dark atmosphere is actually more like a horror game. BO1 is a close second
Cold War is the perfect example of what divides the cod community. either it's good or not. I think since vanguard and mwII it has gotten the praise it deserved though
A bit late to the discussion here, but as a hardcore zombies player since BO1, I think that while Black Ops 3 is overall the best zombies game, Cold War stands out by introducing fresh gameplay mechanics to zombies, creating an extremely fun and satisfying core gameplay loop. Cold War suffers in its story and overall map design; I certainly miss the creative flare that Black Ops 3 brought to us, but I wouldn't necessarily say the maps are bad, just a little uninspired. At the end of the day though, when I want to sit down and play zombies, I find myself gravitating towards Cold War, simply because of gameplay (unless I'm feelings nostalgic for an older map or want to play a custom map in bo3/waw). I would like to hope that for the next game, we see a combination of the best aspects of Cold War and BO3. Gimme the crazy maps and settings, gimme characters that I love (by the way, I think a simple fix to the operator system is just having a main crew for zombies that are also playable operators in MP. These 4 particular operators can have unique and integral dialogue, and even skins if you so choose) and give me a crazy story. But give me the quality of life changes and some of the better innovations that CW introduced. Also, I think Outbreak is a great proof of concept, and it simply needs more personality. I would have loved to see unique maps created for outbreak, or at least iterations of the maps we got but altered to look more like zombies maps (blood, guts, fire, decay, etc. outbreak maps as they stand are pretty clean).
I’m a year late, but I will die on the hill of _Cold War_ is not only the best Zombies game, but also the best _CoD_ since _BO2._ Magic p2w bubble gums & tentacle monster hentai storyline just was not it.
It was the best casual zombies gameplay experience in my opinion, the story was lackluster, but the gameplay was so much fun. So many things to grind, the rarity system, armor, work bench, pack a punch tiers, there was the battle pass which was integrated into zombies for the first time (unless bo4 did it?). I adored the game, and playing with randoms was a lot of fun.
@@alexbasha0508 just because many OG players have it as 4th or 5tg doesn't put it at that spot since most of those OG players are making decisions off of nostalgia and not Fact. Things aren't listed because of majority vote but because of practicality and facts, it's quite disappointing to see someone comment without realising something so simple.
Cold war has been my favorite cod since black ops 3. While I didn't really enjoy the maps themselves, zombies felt so much fun and let me level up all my weapons without having to grind MP when I didn't feel like sweating. I haven't bought a cod since CW and am hopeful for treyarch's next installment in the series.
don't have time to watch the video, but cold war is my favorite zombies experience by far. I love all the maps except firebase, i loved the dark aether grind, it's a very fun casual game and is heavily overhated and underrated.
Hey Rushin, I haven't played Cold War but the zombies mode looks like a solid game. I think what may have gotten people up in arms so much as you mentioned was the shift away from the old storyline. As you put it, people were upset with the stories that were being told for over a decade were finally being cut off. This will place a critical eye on anything new to follow, and people expectantly were very upset. I think these are solid games that can be fun for hours on end but them being attached to the name and brand of Call of Duty Zombies is what gave people their frustration and upset. The cold war zombies itself seems like solid fun but attached to the franchise makes it appear as a bad game. Fantastic retrospective, I'm going to have to check out more of your stuff
Dude I don't give a shit about the story, I liked the ending. For me though the problem with this game is that it wasn't memorable, it's simply a facility, another facility, a street in Berlin which was a nice change. Then back to another facility. It needed to innovate so each map felt fresh. Firebaze z had the wave defense but that's about it. Previous games may have had similar end goals and locations but they made them feel so different from one another. In this game I don't feel I'm playing a certain map, when i play cold war that's all I feel no matter what map I'm on, I just feel like I'm playing cold war zombies. Previous modes made maps each have there own experience and feel.
As someone who has gotten past round 100 on Firebase Z multiple times, the best way to kill Orda on high round on a fully packed Stoner with ring of fire. Melts him in less than 2 mags.
This is my second favorite zombies right behind Bo2 (nostalgia). I love that you could use scorestreaks like the chopper gunner! Being able to buy every single perk was a breath of fresh air. I really hope they bring back and expand on perk upgrades and the field upgrades. Outbreak was great at first, but it got boring after playing it for so long. I really hope that they bring this gameplay into the next zombies instead of taking a step back and making the gameplay similar to Bo3.
Unfortunately you got what you wanted for this year on bo6 I really like the older mechanics better than the new and prefer it to be similar to 3 It worked perfectly fine why change it.
One thing about the zombies community is how divisive we are. I still don't know if the perk/field upgrades are back and itd be a shame if they weren't because they were my favorite part of cold war zombies. I'm sorry that your gameplay style isn't in bo6 and I hope you can get around to enjoying bo6 for what it will be.
Cold war feels like the evolution of classic zombies. Given Activision's persistent drive towards accessibility, I'd rather have this than MM3 zombies. Edit: Bo 3 is still king though
I genuinely love this game so much. As someone who played since WaW but was always more on the casual side, I loved how it gave me not only an easier time with EE (ones that actually fully contributed to the map plot), but it also gave me so much more freedom in how I choose to play. I don't have to just play until I die, or play until my weapons get weak and I get tired of training and then die, but I can now exfil. I can now level up my guns (by either packing or tier upgrading), so I can stay in the fight for as long as I WANT to. Then, I can take the risk to exfil in promise of more rewards. Mauer and Die Maschine are really good maps. DM is a perfected version of Kino. It also served the same purpose as Kino: to make a good casual round based map that everyone can enjoy. And Mauer was on brand with BO3 maps like Shadows of Evil, DE, GK in the sense that you have to physically work to progress. And don't get me started on the game mechanics. Literally the best movement, gun handling, and etc. out of every Zombies game ever made. It's so fluid and it gives me more unique was to train zombies, as well as escape from pinches. I love this game. I love it. It's not the best game content-wise sure, but I'll certainly come back to it often in the future because of how it revitalised the experience.
I'm really glad that I found this comment becuase I feel the same way. I played every Treyarch map for so long that I'm pretty sure that at least 60% of my time gaming was just zombies. And I really liked Cold War. But for some reason it always seemed like OG players hate Cold War and only new players like it. So glad there's more people like me out there
The answer is simple. They are both good games. Cold War: cons, Easter Egg is too easy, high rounds in general are too easy, ability to chose starting weapon should be part of a seperate easy mode for Cold War, and point system. Pros. Easter egg is actually more likely to be beaten by casual zombies players such as myself, high rounds though too easy is very satisfying especially with a melee, rocket launcher, or special weapon as primary, ability to have all perks and at max level makes you feel like a boss, your throwables are super over powered making them more fun to use. BO3: cons: pay to win(In a way that I know you know what it is) I'm not a BO3 players so I can't think of much else Pros: OG zombies experience, custom maps (sadly only for PC leaving us xbox players in the dust ) , Cold War changed too much to actually be enough to make someone choose between the two. Choose BO3 if you like OG zombies, Choose Cold War if you like a bit more grind and at the same time easiness into the mix.
Cold war was great, because a casual such as myself could do easter eggs. I remember me and my buddy doing the D.I.E easter egg after watching it on yt. Ive always wanted to lear ee, but i never had the time. + the camo grind was a bit long but worth it in the end :)
something you missed is that the amount of mini-bosses that spawn scales with your gear, if you have a ray-gun it's gonna be a nightmare! NEVER take a wonder weapon to legion, you will only make it harder.
i absolutely adore cold war zombies so much, yes I'm a casual player but my personal enjoyment of an online only title is the progression, being able to level up, track my progress and have something to work towards so cold war being focused around this? is fantastic its so satisfying to not only level outside of the game but having more ingame progression, no perk limit, multiple pack stages, crafting, armour, it's fantastic theres always something to do in cold war theres never a final full setup state you can always grab a crafting item or a piece of armour etc its great!!!
great video rushin!! to be honest i liked cold war zombies, i liked how it was a fun casual experience for most players. Besides that i dont find much replayablity in cold war, ill come back every now and then to go for 100 on DM (i cannot get past 98 lol) then ill stop playing for months at a time.
@TheLEE16884 more people are playing bo3 customs, but what about console, when talking about bo3 it's only the base game plus paid dlc and not custom mods. Why don't you fucking dumb cunts ever understand that.
I only played it a little bit when it came out. By that point I was more invested into Warzone and GTA with my friend since he was leaving for the Army. I plan on giving it a shot soon since I bought the game on sale.
i really liked cold war zombies. i think zombies generally has gotten ‘easier’ over the years and it’s not CW’s fault for following that trend. it was the first cod i bought since bo2 and it made me fall in love with zombies again
Cold War is probably gonna be one of the best zombies mode for casual and beginners because unlike black ops 3 and 4 where it was overly complex and overwhelming for new players
BO4 stumbled so that Cold War could run. Genuinely love CW zombies, and think that it gets criminally underrated and disrespected simply because it came out between BO4 and Vanguard
Cold War is a underrated gem for sure. Like yea it’s not as good as BO1 - BO3 era of games but it was solid! Good campaign, decent multiplayer, and very fun engaging zombies. If they have more content or released chronicles 2 this game would be more positively remembered.
Disagree with the title cold war didn't have a good zombies storyline black ops 3 is the end of the zombies trilogy and still had the traditional mechanics cold war had none of that we don't need loadouts or field upgrades they make zombies too easy rather then a progressive difficulty that gets increased as you progress.
Cold war is not better then BO3. But it's the second best. Hands down. No idea why people give it such a hard time. The gameplay improvements alone elevates it way above any other title. So what's going on here.
I’ve been saying this since going back and doing the dark aether grind. I’d even say this game does certain things better than BO3 (weapon & perk progression) but I think what it suffers from most is the lack of traditional maps and the operators
Because if your a zombies player (dont like mp pr warzone) then you ran out of things to do LITTERALLY after 24 hrs!!! Lol in old zombies games we had hidden cyphers we were solving and it would take the comunity a week to figure out the easter egg. On firebase z the ee was done in litterally 45 after launch and all side quests were solved within 1 day. We had no reason to keep playing and had to go back to bo3 custom maps... it sucked
@@TheLEE16884 I guess if you're one of those people that care about cyphers & stuff like that then sure. Gameplay & progression are what I care about the most and Cold War is excellent in both
Gameplay wise? Yes. While i find the maps in Bo3 a lot better, the pure gameplay of cold war is just...fun. I'd love for future titles to be on the same level as Bo3, but with cold wars mechanics.
That remote part of the Phillipine Sea is Terminus Island, where BO6's first map will take place. This had nothing to do with Zetsubou no Shima, which was set far closer to Japan. This island is where Requiem is being held, not in the islands.
Yeah I’m following that exact same though. I think Cold War is the start of something beautiful coming in the future with its new gameplay mechanics, the start of a story ramping up, and them experimenting with new game modes like Outbreak and Onslaught.
@@Adam_X78 Yeah I hope not too I’m putting a lot of chips onto this next game succeeding after how sad Vanguard and MW2 have been. Cold War was a great year for me even though that game was made during COVID and only 2 years of development time. This next Treyarch game has already been in development for 3 years and next year is the 4th year so I’m expecting alot.
I posted this before it was deleted but I thought I wanted to share it again. I can’t talk about anything other than zombies because I don’t really play anything other than zombies, but I think that Cold War is the best casual zombie’s experience you can get, here’s why. As a person how has exhausted all the zombies really has to offer and has gotten broad of the Easter eggs all I really want is to run around with a gun and watch the points go up. I often find myself playing shadows on bo3 having unlocked pack, having four perks, having the upgraded sword, and having packed guns all before round 20, at that point I usually just quit because I’ve done all the fun stuff and I’m maxed. With Cold War making you take a while to upgrade your weapons while still feeling powerful in the process it has a longer amount of time that you can just play without having to do the Easter egg to keep it fresh. Not only that I feel that every gun can be used not just the wonder weapons. I know that you can use every gun in bo3 and by fine but that is because of the AAT’s not because the game allows for the weapon to scale pretty high and because of AAT’s all the weapons feel the same on bo3. Anyway this is coming from a guy who has played zombies to exhaustion so it might not how a casual player feels, but I think that Cold War has a better base zombies than bo3, even though bo3 maps are better.
Cold War make me replay old zombie games just for the easter eggs, to me was one of the most player friendly i got some friends hook up and even buy older games just to see how good they were
Biggest problem with Cold War is that it really is no skill challenge after about a couples weeks worth grinding. More of a test of patience than skill, at least with gobblegums: you weren’t forced to use them.
I can certainly agree. Cold War is my favorite iteration of Zombies ever, but I think adding an option to disable upgrades would be nice for the players that don't enjoy them. Kind of like modern Pokemon games having an EXP. All turned on by default but having no way to disable it: It's great for casual players like me, but for diehard fans it'd be nice to have an option to turn it off.
Cold War was pretty fun, hope the next game has more unique and interesting maps, if that makes sense? I liked the new systems etc, just wish the maps were more varied
Cold war is different. Yes, is unique, all call of duty's are unique, don't compare the games you love as a fan if you're a real fan. I like cold war, I like ops 2 & 1 & 3 all the Franchise. 2023™
Bo4 is still better than Cold War lol, I’d rather play IX, dead of the night, ancient evil, alpha omega, blood of the dead and tag der Toten over any Cold War map
@filaaa2171that’s silly it’s always been about killing zombies the easter eggs have always been for the people who wanted more. your outnumbered by the casuals so it’s a little senseless to say you know better. Bo4 failed because it hardly appealed to the casual audience people don’t want to know 120 part locations just to find the fun. Bo3 is the best followed by bo1 then Cold War, bo2 was much worse than people think it was carried by 2 S tier maps that casuals would play 10 times before dropping the content and going to play buried
Reading the gatekeeping comments of black ops 3 is very funny to me like besides playing zombies in highschool once or twice at a friends house on waw. Cold war was basically my intro cod zombies and i absolutely loved it. I look forward to playing through the "best version" according to these comments and see how much of it is nostalgia and i hate qol changes. Its funny how so many say cold war had no personality because to me it was so bombastic crazy campy/queer over the top horror tropes story and characters and the operators just added to this dumb fun vibe though if wanted to do the ee every run required some focus . I loved the story and the easter eggs in game that felt over the top. I loved both round base and outbreak. The most frustrating experience for me was crashes and server instability but unlike other games i kept coming back. I know im not going to like the limit of 4 perks but im curious about the story telling. Etc.
I don't know if i rank it above bo3 personally but i can say i poured 600+ hours into this game having fun surviving with friends and getting through easter eggs together. I really loved this iteration of zombies.
Cold war is an amazing game. I do admit bo3 is slightly better, but cold war had nothing but banger maps (except maybe outbreak, sorry lol), sick wonder weapons, changes that actually fixed the game (looking at you bo4), and is just overall one of my favorites to go back to. Some of my favorite memories on zombies ever was my first few games of die maschine and mauer
I'd say that the reason why allot of people were playing zombies is because of the high amount of content, aka guns, upgrades, challenges and so much more.
I think Cold war would be better than BO3 IF ZC2 released on cold war, and if Treyarch was given proper dev time to release updates and content on time and with no bugs. A cold war that Launched with both Die Machine AND Outbreak would've gone hard. Imagine Outbreak getting new content added alongside each new round-based map. I have a feeling COD 2024 will do that or something similar to that. If COD 2024 is essentially a Cold War Zombies 2.0 with higher quality due to more dev time and has ZC 2 I think it could easily be the best zombies game. I think adding more modes to outbreak like turned and grief from BO2 could go hard as well.
The concept of Outbreak makes me think of what Tranzit could've been if the hardware was permitting at the time. A big open world Zombies map with side quests and ways to traverse the massive map previously not seen in Zombies before

I like both modes but I disagree that Outbreak is what Tranzit was trying to be. Tranzit is a real zombie survival map. Outbreak is a fun spin-off mode made entirely from recycled multiplayer content.

Big pass for me
@@peterk9166Cold war literally took you to a mall, and then to a city, and then to an underground facility under nacht, plenty of personality.
@@armyofuno8196 Now compare that city to shadows of evil and you’ll understand the drop in quality. A facility under nacht? Idk what mall you’re talking about but im gonna guess the teleporter simulator in forsaken. Idk no hate towards your opinion, but i really think they lost all creativity and personality in cold war.
@filaaa2171 so you're only counter point is that's in a city and a mall? Neglecting the details like how the city is blocked off and war torn, or how the mall is used by the soviets as a training ground and a holding place for a demon.

Fuck no that shit was disgusting
Yeah I loved cold war,but bo2 is the best for me
@@mexmenderpa big place to explore?
That's my problem
this just does not feel like zombies

Exactly. Black Ops is and will always have the best Zombies mode.
No way you said sliding was what made bo3 easier 😂

Ive always hated the perk limit
I'm honestly glad that they made the game easy
Because this game is just a game I wanted to toss on and play without needing to think too much, because I already have a life that stresses me out enough
So I guess this is just saying something about the people who want a harder game mode
But I'm personally happy this game is easier and more casual, made the game much more relaxing, in a world where everything these days needs to be hard and competitive
I remember when I first saw my brother playing it on Xbox One. Played it a few hours and already bought it few days after on PC. Still playing it till today. Another welcoming addition was music tapes (especially because of old tracks from Black Ops 1, with easter egg songs)!

Long answer: No but its still great
Firebase Z was my first solo EE and I still have the notebook with all the steps on it 😅
Cold War is the perfect example of what divides the cod community. either it's good or not. I think since vanguard and mwII it has gotten the praise it deserved though
CW zombies was my first experience with zombies, and i gotta say after playing BO2 and 3, its a good entrance title
Great video but cold war zombies was the biggest reason most players left the game.
cold war zombies is the most fun iv had on a cod since BO3
I honestly loooved cold war. There was constant support all throughout the games life with new zombies stuff, multi player and warzone content
I would have loved to see unique maps created for outbreak, or at least iterations of the maps we got but altered to look more like zombies maps (blood, guts, fire, decay, etc. outbreak maps as they stand are pretty clean).

well done for taking the correct route to turn on the power in Die.
Hey Rushin,
I haven't played Cold War but the zombies mode looks like a solid game.
I’m really hoping that Activision goes bananas and just makes a stand-alone zombies game. It’d be worth 40 to even 70 dollars.
Fucking insane take! “Oh I’m so glad they added grinding to zombies, now I finally have a reason to play for more than an hour.”
cw zombies is in my top 3 cod zombies experiences, and i’ve been playing since bo1

Cold War is the definition of participation award worthy
You speller Black Ops 2 wrong
The answer is simple.
They are both good games.
Cold War: cons, Easter Egg is too easy, high rounds in general are too easy, ability to chose starting weapon should be part of a seperate easy mode for Cold War, and point system. Pros. Easter egg is actually more likely to be beaten by casual zombies players such as myself, high rounds though too easy is very satisfying especially with a melee, rocket launcher, or special weapon as primary, ability to have all perks and at max level makes you feel like a boss, your throwables are super over powered making them more fun to use.
BO3: cons: pay to win(In a way that I know you know what it is) I'm not a BO3 players so I can't think of much else
Pros: OG zombies experience, custom maps (sadly only for PC leaving us xbox players in the dust ) ,
Cold War changed too much to actually be enough to make someone choose between the two.

That remote part of the Phillipine Sea is Terminus Island, where BO6's first map will take place. This had nothing to do with Zetsubou no Shima, which was set far closer to Japan. This island is where Requiem is being held, not in the islands.
Cold War is like a starter, unfortunately we didn’t get the main course
But let’s hope, Cod 2024 can make up for that.
Yeah I’m following that exact same though. I think Cold War is the start of something beautiful coming in the future with its new gameplay mechanics, the start of a story ramping up, and them experimenting with new game modes like Outbreak and Onslaught.
@@Ermac43 Hopefully we’re not, disappointed.
@@Ermac43 Well said, I’m expecting a lot of great stuff too.
I see it as the most underrated cod since IW
I completely agree
Cold War make me replay old zombie games just for the easter eggs, to me was one of the most player friendly i got some friends hook up and even buy older games just to see how good they were
The fact that it doesn't have characters that you can play with and have a role in the story just ruins it.Bo3 supremacy
i think if this game had customs, it would overtake bo3
Biggest problem with Cold War is that it really is no skill challenge after about a couples weeks worth grinding. More of a test of patience than skill, at least with gobblegums: you weren’t forced to use them.
I can certainly agree. Cold War is my favorite iteration of Zombies ever, but I think adding an option to disable upgrades would be nice for the players that don't enjoy them.
Kind of like modern Pokemon games having an EXP. All turned on by default but having no way to disable it: It's great for casual players like me, but for diehard fans it'd be nice to have an option to turn it off.
Cold War has more players everyday on average than ghosts does and ghosts came out in 2013 I wouldn’t say most underrated
Saying the most recently released black ops game at least has more players than ghosts is not a flex
Cold War was pretty fun, hope the next game has more unique and interesting maps, if that makes sense? I liked the new systems etc, just wish the maps were more varied
the CW maps we’re trying to be more realistic if i remember correctly
Cold war is different. Yes, is unique, all call of duty's are unique, don't compare the games you love as a fan if you're a real fan. I like cold war, I like ops 2 & 1 & 3 all the Franchise. 2023™
if you like cold war zombies over any past black ops (except bo4) you don't love zombies, you just kinda like it
Bo4 is still better than Cold War lol, I’d rather play IX, dead of the night, ancient evil, alpha omega, blood of the dead and tag der Toten over any Cold War map
Etc.
Love it for the camo grind and it’s just a fun game to play, but nothing will ever compare to the Bo3 map design.
People act like two legends cannot Co-Exist
Ik bro
The title and thumbnail of this video are the reasons your dad left you.
Toxic
The worst zombies game of all time
I don't know if i rank it above bo3 personally but i can say i poured 600+ hours into this game having fun surviving with friends and getting through easter eggs together. I really loved this iteration of zombies.
bo3 will always be better
The answer is no because we don't have Nikolai.
That is all.
Cold war is an amazing game. I do admit bo3 is slightly better, but cold war had nothing but banger maps (except maybe outbreak, sorry lol), sick wonder weapons, changes that actually fixed the game (looking at you bo4), and is just overall one of my favorites to go back to. Some of my favorite memories on zombies ever was my first few games of die maschine and mauer
great vid. Honestly was lost on outbreak so dropped it all!
BTW theres some loud BEEPS in your video dont know why!
It isn’t anywhere close to 3 😭
i remember waking up and always grinning for dark ather i wish i could just go back
I'd say that the reason why allot of people were playing zombies is because of the high amount of content, aka guns, upgrades, challenges and so much more.
I dislike cold war alot it the zombies is boring and started alot of the systems i dislike in modern zombies
As someone who grinds the hell out of Warzone, Multiplayer, and Zombies Cold War was such a banger year for content
