Great review! I found your channel through your Sound+Sleep SE video and your detailed reviews do not disappoint 👍🏽. I've never been this interested in sleep machines
These videos are great! I've always thought that the bedroom should be a sanctuary for optimal sleep and your channel does a great job at showing the options available for people who believe the same. Please could you put up UK links for purchasing the products you review as well?
Hard to say really, as it depends what you're looking for. For price, the Dohm wins hands down. For volume and extra features, including useful ones like a timer, the Snooz wins. As for the actual fan sound, if you're not looking for loud volume, they are fairly similar at the end of the day - just a fan inside a case!
Unfortunately not! You might have more luck using headphones and an audio device, or one of the white noise machines that have a headphone jack. These quieter machines with fans perhaps aren't the best for blocking out loud impact noise if the wood thumping is in your building.
I can't say with 100% certainty, but I would imagine if you bought one locally in an EU country, it would come with the right plug. Maybe check for the Snooz and Yogasleep Dohm in your country on Amazon or their local website (if they have one) and see what plug they come with. You could also look who is selling them on ebay and message them.
@@nosleeplessnights1 I just got it today. You weren’t kidding. It is loud! Now I can cover up my a/c for the winter! I used it last night and it was as loud as the a/c fan.
I have the one on the left, but it makes so much noise that I can’t fall into sleep because of it. Kind of funny that a tool to block out noisy neighbors is so noisy that I can’t sleep anyway
Don't get the one on the right then Wendy, as it's even louder! Seriously though, you're right and some people will just find that white noise doesn't help. That's one reason I think it's worth trying with a phone App first to see if white noise is right for you or not before buying a machine.
No Sleepless Nights I have Brown noise on a loop on my phone, that deeper sound is more relaxing to me and also I can control the volume. Nowadays I prefer to fall asleep listening to reviews on youTube :-) I always get very sleepy during (boring) meetings
I got the snooz recently. I like it. It’s small, easy, and loud but not annoying .. it does the job. However, it still doesn’t block loud sound from above. Light footfall, yes, but not heavy footfall. That’s really what I need as I’m in an apartment. I don’t know that any of the machines can do that. I suppose that’s a different type of acoustic issue. Any ideas for that which doesn’t include spending tons?
Hi, first of all it's good to know you liked the Snooz. Unfortunately, heavy footfall in a room above is notoriously tricky to block out, and white noise doesn't do the best job. Have you tried using earplugs as well as having the white noise on? Or Using headphones with some music? You might have more luck with those. Otherwise, you're into the realms of either communicating with the person above about the issue (also not easy to get a good result from) or doing major home improvement work to create better sound insulation (expensive). I wish I had a simple solution, but some trial and error with cheaper products first would be my advice rather than tackling the problem in a big way. Alternatively, if you have another room you can sleep in which they aren't stomping above, that might be the easiest option.
@@nosleeplessnights1 thank you! Unfortunately I’m in a studio apt so no where to escape that. I have used ear plugs ( silicone style works better than foam) . They usually work. The issue with them is the impact on my TMJ area sealing them in the ear. So I’m kind of stuck. But the snooz for outside noise has been fantastic. I’ll try headphones. Thanks again.
You can place it where you like really. If just for relaxation in a quiet room, under the bed is fine. To block out external noise, it can help to experiment by placing it near where the noise is coming from, such as on a windowsill or by the door.

Thanks Shawn! It's great to hear you like the reviews, and I really appreciate you taking the time to say so.
What are you using for the ambient lighting behind the couch, I love it
Just a couple of amber halogen lightbulbs in small lamps with a dimmer.
Thank you for your reviews. Your voice is very soothing btw. It suits your channel very well 😆👍🏻
You're welcome! And thanks, that's good to know - as long as it's soothing and not boring people to sleep, I'm happy:-)
Thanks for this! Great job

Thank you very much for your kind words Maria Luna, it's much appreciated:-) I'll look into adding more UK links.
Does your phone have to remain on all night to get the timers to work.?
No, once you set it up how you like, it will remember those settings until you change them.
nice video, can these machines stay over night right? just plug it in and turn it on and it could stay on all night?
Yes, they can both run continuously. The Uno doesn't even have a timer, so there's no choice anyway.
Where did you get those hexagon shelves?
On Amazon. I'm glad something in the video was interesting haha
Whats better between the snooz and the dohm elite?

No Sleepless Nights thanks.. I guess ill go with the snooz as im looking for something with extra features
@@rich5950 let me know if you like it when you've had time to try it! And remember some of the features are only available on the phone App:-)
No Sleepless Nights ok i definitely will let you know. I will order it next week
I just received the SNOOZ and tonight will be my first night using it. I think I’m going to love it!
THANK YOU SIR. VERY HELPFUL!!!!
You are welcome!
Hi, sir。 Is there any machine or thing that can isolate all sound? Especially the sound of wood thumping?
Unfortunately not! You might have more luck using headphones and an audio device, or one of the white noise machines that have a headphone jack. These quieter machines with fans perhaps aren't the best for blocking out loud impact noise if the wood thumping is in your building.
do you now a white noise machine (mechanical fan) which has eu-plug?

@@nosleeplessnights1snooz and dohm where the only one I could find which have mechanical fan
There are very few with real fans. Dohm models, snooz, breez. Maybe some others but I haven't tried any.
Thank you for your comparison testing. You sold me on the #Snooz. I'll let you know how I like it.

Have you tried the Hatch Restore noise/light machine?
I haven't yet, but it's on my radar to test in the future when I have time.
