    Thank you so much for your video and the comparisons between the two. The eight hour timer on the evo is perfect and the sounds you played sounds so good. I just purchased mine from Amazon (its on sale) and will be looking forward to receiving it . Was using a small tv in the bedroom streaming all night sound videos with black screen from you tube, the evo will be using much less electricity and won't use data usage from my internet. thanks again!

      You're very welcome! I'm glad you liked the reviews, and I really appreciate your kind feedback. It always helps motivate me to keep making these videos! Those three white noise machines are all good options. As for blocking the sound of your neighbors, it depends on the kind of noise they are making as to how effective they will be though. If you're looking for a specific purpose like that, I'd make sure you can get a refund before buying any of them in case they don't do the trick.

    I heard people say this LectroFan Evo White Noise Machine works in covering the stomping and dropping noises of my upstairs neighbors. But so far it has not worked for me. I tried the fans and now the noises on 60 decibels with earplugs on but can still hear their disruptive noise. What am I doing wrong and what specific noise and volume on this device have you used to effectively block stomps and dropping noises from the upstairs neighbors?

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  Рік тому +1

      Unfortunately, stomping noise from upstairs can be very difficult to block out, especially if the sound is travelling through the physical building and furniture rather than just through the air. I normally find brown noise works best for this, along with earplugs. Maybe you could try different/better earplugs? Which ones are you using?

    • @HM-wi4zf
      @HM-wi4zf Рік тому +1

      @@nosleeplessnights1 I am using Mack's ultra soft earplugs. I think they are working because when I turn on the brown noise on the LectroFan to 60 decibels, I can barely hear the LectroFan's noises, but the neighbor's stomps and dropping sound can be heard through my earplugs louder then the LectroFan's noises to wake me up. I thought about turning up the volume higher so I could hear the brown noise more clearly with my earplugs on, but that would mean it would go up to 70+ decibels. I think it might work than but concerned if its bad for my ears to listen to sound that loud because I did it once and my ears hurt even with my earplugs on to reduce the noise.

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  Рік тому +1

      I understand. It's a tricky balance you need to find between blocking out the sound you don't want to hear and replacing it with sound or using something like earplugs that irritates your ears and/or brain! Unfortunately, I don't have many suggestions for you. Keep experimenting and hopefully you'll find something that works well.

      You're welcome, glad you liked it. I think it depends on the music, the volume, direction etc. Brown noise is good for masking music with heavier bass I find. One of the reasons I like machines with lots of variety though is that you can experiment with the sounds to find one that blocks the most external noise.

    Hi thank you for this useful comparison. I have one question; on my DreamEgg D3, I have an underlying sound / tune beneath the brown noise that I use. It is very subtle but in the dead of night becomes very noticeable. Have you ever heard of this problem on any other machine? I'm certain the underlying sound is not supposed to be there. Do any of the lectrofan devices suffer from these difficulties, in your experience?
    Thanks

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  2 роки тому +1

      You're welcome! I've definitely heard that on several machines. I don't usually detect it with white/brown noise, but often when there is a nature sound like birdsong or gentle brook, I hear a sort of white noise sound that probably shouldn't be there. I don't think it happens with the lectrofan classic or evo.

    • @lexxandera
      @lexxandera Рік тому

      Most fan sounds of lectrofan have an annoying (once you notice) underlying humming sound that "shouldn't be there". My guess is, that it is supposed to imitate a more organic (electrical) sound. But there are still 2 good ones. I am using only 1 fan sound that does not have that humming sound. I am sure everybody will find their favourite sound and only use that. The white noises of the lectrofan don't have any humming sound. That is my opinion. And i have to admit that i was a bit disappointed that most fan sounds are useless for me, because my brain will try to hear the humming sound. But I'm still happy with the purchase.

    Hello, your review was very helpful to me. Thank you. By the way, I have a question. Based on your review, I have now ordered the lectrofan classic. Will it effectively block out the low-frequency sounds felt by the residents above me when they walk? Or would Sony's Bluetooth speakers, which were featured in your other reviews, be a better option?

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  Рік тому

      Hi! I'm happy to hear it was helpful. It's hard to predict if one will be better than the other, or if either of them can completely block out the impact noise from upstairs neighbours. Comparatively, I think both of them are good choices though. They both produce more bass/lower frequency noise than most other white noise machines, so if anything can help, hopefully the Lectrofan or Sony speaker can. If they don't block it completely, headphones would be my recommendation.

    Would these machines help mask drilling sounds for a baby trying to nap in a building undergoing construction work? If so, what settings would be best?

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  9 місяців тому +1

      In theory, it's possible they would because both machines are very loud on maximum volume.
      But...it depends on how loud the drilling is, how far away, how much of the noise is vibrating through the walls etc.
      Another concern is how loudly you'd potentially have to play white noise to block out all of the drilling if it's extremely loud. It's usually recommend, for example, to play white noise to youngsters as quietly as possible, for as short a time as possible, and to have the white noise machine as far away from where they're sleeping as possible.
      So while both LectroFans do a good job of masking external noise, getting the balance right between helping with sleep and not playing the white noise too loudly is the real question.

      So, it's kind of a tricky question to answer.
      My best guess would be if you're very sensitive to noise, and tend to easily pick up on the differences between noise sources, then the fan sounds might sound more like recordings than an actual AC fan to you. While they do sound different to UA-cam videos when you have them in a room, it also depends on the quality of speaker you use to play those UA-cam videos.
      Then there's the issue of how the sound comes across taking into account the fan sounds are generated by the white noise machines, then captured by my microphone, then edited, then uploaded to UA-cam, then played through whatever device you listen to!
      When I play the video back and listen on decent headphones or a Bluetooth speaker, the 'type' of noise is accurate, but there are some differences to how it sounds in the room in front of you playing.
      The only way to tell is to try it and send it back within 30 days if it's not what you were hoping for.
