A very important note here which is personally the reason I'm opting for the K6. The K6 on the sharp rating was all green on the impact zones, meaning it transferred the least force to the head and thus mildy safer than the nxr2 which had side impact yellow zones. Both are excellent options though.
The K6 was tested under UN ECE REG 22.05 and the NXR2 under UN ECE REG 22.06 standards. So i assume that the NXR2 will be also green on all impact zones under UN ECE REG 22.05 standard and probably the K6 will be weaker under ECE REG 22.06 standard... This is just my logical opinion can't say that is true 100%...
@mihaipetre4840 the k6s is the ece 22.06 varient. I should have been more clear. I actually went to the shop with the intention of purchasing the k6s and it didn't fit. In the end the perfect fit for me was the arai quantic and I couldn't be happier. It's an epic helmet.
My NXR2 whistles at 25-30mph with the visor cracked open. For me the visor would be a -10 at least. It won't stay at one notch, drops shut and has to be constantly fully latched and opened in traffic.
Shoei for me ... tried the K6 and found that it is just a bit too compact, the chin bar sits very close to the face and was constantly touching my chin and overall the helmet was just a tiny bit too small even in exactly the same size as my previous S4-SV and K5-S (which both fit me just fine). I've now swapped over to the NXR2 which is the best fitting and most comfortable helmet I've worn in over 25 years of riding. The lining is plush with high quality padding and is extremely customisable for fit and comfort should the need arise. The venting is better than the AGVs .. more air onto the inside of the visor and over the scalp. It is lightweight and aerodynamic, stable at silly speeds with little to no lift and minimal buffeting even on a naked bike. It's not perfect though - the visor ratchet could be a lot better .. but it does seal nicely and the central lock is far far easier to use than on the K6 ... and the pads on the chin strap for the double D buckle are very thin with very little padding. Those are things that are easily forgiven when you put on a helmet for the first time and it instantly feels like home, like it was made just for your head 😉
do you think the noise is that big of a thing? I went to a bike store today and they told me the difference is notable, being the k6 much louder. I want to buy one, my mind says Nxr2, but my heart says K6. Please help, thank you.
Guys, I love your reviews, pretty much my go to for any decision. But I would like to suggest to change your structure: Rather than saying everything helmet by helmet, why dont you just say what both helmets have in common and then move to differences? Especially when comparing features you kinda loose track when you hear 6 features of helmet A followed by 6 features of helmet B, so just saying "A and B both have x, x, x, x" and then saying what they dont have in common :)
Thank you for your reaction! Though the K6 did do fairly well for comfort, we found that the quality and feel of the Shoei NXR 2 felt more comfortable during our test.
So basically 2 great helmets :) And therefore it should really come to down to which fits you better!!! That being said I'm a huge SHOEI fan, just fits me so well + amazing quality.
Thank you! There are no specific motorcycle helmets for the winter, but you can prepare yourself for the colder days. When riding in the winter there are some options you should keep in mind to keep your head warm, like a balaclava.
If you are unfortunate for a need to wear glasses go for Shoei, AGV doesn't have the groves to accommodate glasses or sunglasses. I've tried both, but that's the biggest con of AGV K6.

Thanks for your comment Taric! I would recommend the Shoei NXR 2. Although it's a bit more expensive, I think it's worth spending a bit more on a better helmet.
Hi Soulia, these helmets have, for example, no integrated sun-visor like other sport-touring helmets. But AGV and Shoei designed and made these two helmets as true sport-touring helmets!
I just got the k6 and my issue is with the opening/closing the visor. I press the button and nothing happens. Is it supposed to do that? I can hold down the button and pull it up, then it goes into the 'cracked position' (still locked in but a little open), then must do that AGAIN to actually open it. Thats VERY difficult to do with a) one hand and b) whilst wearing gloves (because there is no tab to push open with your finger).
When I had the K6 I found that pushing the button with my index finger whilst lifting the visor with my thumb (on the same hand) worked the best ... still a pain to get open quickly though. The lock on the NXR2 is much easier to use but the over all visor ratcheting mechanism on the AGV is nicer to use, shame the lock is a little on the awkward side. The little plastic loop part on the AGV visor that engages in the lock can be moved back and forward a little if you undo the screw, adjusting that may help 😉

Great review. Straight to point and lots of good info

Great review....I have the Shoei NXR 2 and agree with the findings....after looking at other options, I bought it bc it came in the Italian colours!😃
do you use speakers in your helmet? and if so, can you hear them clearly when travelling high speeds?
@@DannyCheekss Yep....I use the Cardo Freecom 4 system which comes with JBL speakers and they work fine 😃

You can modify it with your own padding

Which is better in quality of interior padding and finishes?

Hi! Can you do the same review but with the agv k6S helmet?
What would be the Arai in this cathegory ?
Amazing vid. what is the benefit of a a 2 dimensional visor?
Thank you! 2 dimensional visor ensures that your visor does not distort the view in any way, which curved visors slightly do often.
If you look closely at your devices. When you measured K6, the wind speed was significantly higher.

@@IMF85noise is subjective, and for longer travels (more than 20 min) you should wear ear plugs with any helmet...I went for shoei though
I don’t like the fact that these helmets have no sun visor.. which helmet do you recommend that has a sun visor?
Hello Nick, if you want a helmet with sun visor I would recommend the Shoei GT Air 2. This helmet was the best helmet in the 2022 sport touring guide!
very professional review
bruh how can u test the wind with a windshield like that ride on a naked bike and see the difrence
True dude. TestS should be done with a naked nike not a sport touring one

Hello. What would you recommend between Shoei NXR 2 and Shoei GT-AIR 2?
With the ratings here clearly GT-Air 2. Glad I bought it
Would the cardo fit into the Shoei NXR 2? Thank you for this review!
Thank you for your reaction! Yes, a Cardo communication system will fit in the Shoei NXR 2.
Beautifull review! There is a Photochromic visor for the Shoei. Is there something similar for the AGV helmet?
Thank you Martijn! At this moment AGV has no photochromic visor.
Pinlock photochromatic insert
Are you from The Hague? lol
Shoei👍
I like how you say everything is the same about them and then give 0,5 or even 1 star more to Shoei. Innit hypocrisy?
Won’t you get blinded by the sun without a sun visor? I don’t like riding with sunglasses on.
Hi Balázs, you have the option to change the visor to a dark smoke visor which blocks out the sun as well!
I ride in spain with a clear visor n no sunglasses, ive never been blinded by the sun
