One problem with the Mi Band 4 (and also Mi Band 3) is that it doesn't show the characters åäöÅÄÖ correctly. Those are shown as question mark boxes which makes reading messages difficult in some languages including Finnish and Swedish.

If I need to have my phone with me that kills the whole interest in this watch. I normally don't wear a watch have not for 20 years.

Al Kider yes it alerts you of incoming calls and new message. There's virtually no delay. Maybe just a second or two. It's a pretty nice smart watch for the price

Yes, i connect the band and airpods at the same time. You can also control music using the watch, makes it easier to use in the gym or outside workouts.
john dollar i use apple Airpods, yes i can skip songs using the band. You can also do that to airdots because i also tried mine even on the car speaker i can also skip songs.
That bit where you're showing the sunlight legibility... I don't think the screen is on. All other reviews say how good it is in the sun at 90-100% brightness.

When the sleep alarm goes off, do you need to press and hold the screen for a few seconds like with older models? Or is it like newer fitbits that are too sensitive and turn off at the slightest touch?
I have mine for 3 days now and somehow it doesn't detect when I'm awake at night. Like I wake up, go to the bathroom, drink some water and get back into the bed. It counted my steps, but it says I was awake for 0 minutes. And I know I wake up at least once or twice a night anyway, but it won't show that. And today it said I fall asleep at 3 am. when I know it was around 11 pm at max. So it's not that accurate, but I'm not complaining, because it's cheep.
hello, I've been seeing many people saying mi band 4 is one of the best but one of my biggest concern is the Mi Fit App itself. If i'm not mistaken there are many 1 star reviews on mi fit app because of disconnecting problem, ads showing up in the app, can't update the app something like that, I was hoping whether you could tell me what was your experience with using the mi fit app. I mean, even if the watch is the best, it would suck if it has the worse app ;/
You must ensure to pair the band with your phone properly by setting it under trusted devices. And to enable all notifications mi fit app at your phone setting to sych and update. Constantly play with it to get used to it.
It's great! It replaces my Pebble 2 smartwatch and its very nice, especially the screen is very easy to read without reading glasses. What I miss are my agenda items, that would have been nice. But for 40 euros, its a steal.
Do bands for the Mi Band 3 fit the 4? I see on Amazon bands listed that fit both. If they fit both then there are a million bands already available (for the 3). I never had the previous ones, have a 4 showing up today.

Is it normal for the HR to not go up during workouts? While running or cycling, HR stays down at ~80bpm while in reality, it goes up to >120bpm? This makes the band completely worthless to me... I've tried this with various position on my wrist and also with a friend, all with the same results.
M ine correctly shows my HR rising during exercise; if I use the wlaking or cycling activities, it produces a useful HR graph (on you phone) when you complete the activity.
about the battery estimation you did its wrong 14% in 4days means (14/4) = 3.5%/day and (100/3.5) = 28.5 days i know it was just you estimating but you got it very wrong
Dan, when you get a text message with an image do you get the message? I sent myself a text with an image and it did not come over to the watch at all. I sent it separately and it went fine without the pic.

Absolutely. The brightness setting on the Mi Band 4 is under "more". If you set the level to 5 it is brilliant even under strong sunlight!
