People need to understand that Samsung only provides its competition with the best camera sensors in the world but refuses to give them to westerncustomers.. Samsung creates the HP 9 and hp3 Camera sensors, which are by far the most Superior camera sensors in the world but only provided them to Vivo and Honor. The X200 Pro and honor magic 7 Pro are light years ahead of anything Samsung Google and apple have.. the biggest problem is we have large numbers of UA-cam ambassadors as well as Tech writers around the West that refused to expose Samsung Google and apple and the fact they have aken complete advantage of the West. They refuse to truly compete with the global phones that are so far superior that it's embarrassing!! The s25 ultra is the s24 ultra that has a faster processor they've replaced the smaller ultra-wide with a 50 MP Ultra wide sensor and Stripped Away S-Pen features while using the exact battery cell that they had already in stock instead of moving on to the Silicon carbon Battery tech which would have given us closer to 5500 to 6000 milliamp hours and allowed us to charge at 80 Watts wired and 50 watts wireless. On top of that Samsung not only took away Aspen features they decided it was a good idea to give taiwan, South korea, China and Hong Kong the s25 ultra with 16 gigabytes of RAM while refusing to provide that to the West as well!
Also, you can change the image codec in Samsung to reduce the image size. But, yeah, as he was talking about the default settings, iPhone's images are more compressed.
@@jay_z0540 He is right. If you take a live photo with your iPhone the file size shows only the size of the photo and not of the video. If your export your picture to the Files app you can see 2 files one photo without video(with out live Photo) and one video. The video file is larger than the photo.
@ebukaekwu9929thats cause he didn't use the 200mp or 50mp mode on samsung and the 48mp mode on the iphone. He only used the standard settings where samsung is at 12mp and apple at 24mp. So it makes sense that apple has more details generally speaking
never used the bluetooth pen on my old ultra. Despite that i take 200 pics in a week. Maybe its because I dont take so many pics of myself all the time 😀
Galaxy phones can save their photos in a high efficiency format like iPhone does. It's just not enabled by default. I turned mine on a few weeks ago on my s23 and each photo size went down by over 60%
If you are concern about the storage every picture and video takes up on your phone just go to your camera setting and turn on the High Efficiency Picture (HEIF) and High Efficiency Video. It will cut down the file size while retaining a high quality image/video.

So, you compared photo sizes between JPG (S25) and HEIF (iPhone). JPG will always be larger in this scenario. In the Samsung camera app, you can change to HEIF as well, it uses way less space, also for motion photos.
@@sahilsingh1 pretty sure you changed it and then forgot lol. I have my S21 set to heif as well, but I hate that it's patent encumbered I wish everyone would switch to AVIF or JPEG XL.
Why? Easiest way to figure out if a influencer is full of poo, they simp for apple. No one but children and women use iPhone, because they are irrational enough to make decisions based upon something other than reason. Iphone has been behind in every way since iPhone 4S. It'd be embarrassing if we didn't like our other halves and progeny so much, instead we smile and nod when they show us their new toy that does all the things samsung has been doing for years.
Wait for S26/S27 ultra will have new strong updates for camera. Also s27 ultra will have 300 mega pixel camera+sensor. . The world's first phone With such a camera. Also they will add 180 hz + battery and more fast charging and much more stuff. I read these sources from Chinese websites.
Yes, but that's nothing compared to the twenty eight ultra or the twenty nine ultra, but wait until the thirty ultra comes out. When you guys gonna get off the consumerism tread mill ?
@@todorzhelyazkov987 more mp doesn't make for better cameras that's what they tell you, but it's a lie to get more sells. More mp in a photo just mean that you can zoom in more into the photo with more details. So it is good to have but 200 or 300mp mode is not ideal for day to day use stick to 12mp for that.
IceUniverse glazed this phone like crazy. Turns out, it's basically an S24S, with ONE upgraded camera, slightly more S-like/less Note-like design (+ points in my book but it's not enough), new chip, and software AI features which will also come to the previous phones LMAO
no need for a battle: both cameras are equally good and equally bad, depends on the purpose :) Just choose the OS you like more, and stick to a 3yo phone.
0:42 Experience of the camera app interface (Samsung won) 2:01 Microphone and audio quality (iPhone won) 3:01 Videography (iPhone won) 4:57 Zooming (Samsung won) 6:36 Photography (iPhone won) 8:50 Editing (Samsung won) 10:25 Selfies (Samsung won) 11:20 Selfie video (iPhone won) 13:02 Special modes (iPhone won) 15:37 Portrait shots (Samsung won) 16:36 Night mode (iPhone won) So, based on Arun's comparison I think the 16 Pro Max is slightly better than the S25 Ultra in camera section. Specially when it is better at some significant areas like Photo and video. Samsung also did pretty good. But if zooming, editing and macros aren't your biggest concerns then I think the iPhone will suit you the best. At the end of the day, both are some of the best flagship smartphones in the market right now and you'll buy them with your hard earned money. So just grab whatever your heart desires. I gotta say, for out-of-the-box software, the S25 Ultra camera is quite exceptional! Would love to see a follow-up video after some updates a few months down the road.!
8:15 Samsung has HEIF format as well, you just have to turn it on once and then it stays on forever. The storage it takes is then reduced at least by 25% and sometimes even by 50%. But I'll give it to the iPhone since it can even squish the live photo into that size.
Yeah but even if you compare HEIF of samsung vs HEIF on Apple, apple is still lower than Samsung in terms of file size. Some pics on Apple with 12 MP + HEIF can go as low as 500kb and 900kb in very detailed shots
@pinknailsworldseries367 Yeah I agree. Apple has does really an incredible job compressing the files. I really don't understand how they managed to reach it to such an extent. Especially if they squeezed a 24MP shot + live photo into sub 4MB. Samsung is a little all over the place. A bright outdoor image may have up to 4MB, but an indoor image or a simpler frame can be as low as 1.5MB, shot with 12MP. Even managed to get most of my live photos between 3MB and 6MB. They big issue is though that Samsungs lag a lot with the motion picture. My S23 Ultra really dislikes them. The vibration feedback is weird so I don't always know if I took the picture and the viewfinder lags horribly during the shot.
@@JackMaslovLive According to a number of people, the live photo is just a separate video file and isn't included in that file size - looking at the iphone storage using an app or pc you can see that the photo remains the same size as you see it on iphone, but now there's a separate video file that can be seen for each live photo.
I currently use the iPhone 15 Pro Max. I’ve used many Android phones and Samsung phones, but iPhones feel different. They’re refined, with a smooth UI. They just work. The only thing I miss is the side drawer/multitask feature on Samsung phones. I hope Apple adds it to future iOS versions.
Damn that win was so so close! Samsung has definitely made some major improvements this year around. Thank you so much Arun, Your videos are the very few I trust, not to mention how they also the most enjoyable!
@@lenin1178 I guess that’s perspective. What I mean to say is that looking at how far ahead was last year compared to the S24, it doesn’t seem like the S25 is that far off. I still agree the iPhone is better, and I am sure either the iPhone 17 pro apple will race ahead, however for now Samsung is much closer than last year.
They made minor differences tbh . It did not need a big change to stay in line with iPhone . This is coming from an iPhone user . Although I would definitely say I’m more impressed with how apple is handling their phones every year
To be fair, the test is more about when an average/mid user is engaging with the camera, not about a professional trying to squeeze the most out of it.
@@csskrouble at one point in this video Arun says that most of his work as influencer is done on selfie camera taking videos, and this heavily influenced his judgement Apparantly every mid user is a youtuber or influencer now
The reason it sounds that way is because of apples new studio mics. There are multiple mics in all directions underneath the back glass of the phone. The reason they sound off is because the Samsung is enhancing the sound and attempting to make it sound better. The iPhone is using the studio mics to get a baseline recording that is as close as possible to how the sound actually would sound like if you were there. This makes it better for editors to enhance the audio if they feel the need to do so.
8:15 You can make most Galaxy phone save pictures and video using HEIF/HEVC (like iPhones do by default) by just selecting it on the camera app Settings.
Not a ton of people dive into the samsung settings to customize the photos/videos. I watch a creator who's an iPhone enjoyed but showed that there's not much room to change iphone stock setting but there's tons of things you can change to improved the 25u settings to beat out the iPhone. Iphone is great stock but samsung takes it with customizable settings like always.
The worst part about mrwhosetheboss is the videos are so good I'm always wired into the video and I always somehow memorize the video and everything about it that's why I can't watch old videos 😭
Next time please also upload a standard professional video camera footage along with smartphone footage. So we can see the real situation for comparison.
01:57 So, the S25's camera app is clearly laggier than the 16 Pro Max's, but S25 is better than iPhone 16 Pro Max in camera experience because S25 has better camera performance than S24.
8:30 the montion video is a separate file in the iPhone, you can tell by plugging it to a PC. Or by the way apps like Capcut can detect them as video files
8:41 - Maybe the scene had a lot of blue anyway, but the Apple seems blue-heavy - the wall and Cafe sign seem hinted with a blue hue while the Samsung seems more natural.
That's your opinion, iPhones have been, and always will be, more true to life than Samsung photos. While you say it looked more "natural" it's because the phone is processing and changing it to look that way instead of having it how it actually is.
@vigour6786 it's in between for both of them. There are times when Samsung cameras capture the naturally accurate colors way more than the iPhone. Even the front face camera for natural skin tones and details.
@@TheFreaknd nope that is not even close to true, Samsung have improve with the s25 but iPhones have always been known as the more natural looking cameras, it’s unanimously been this way for years. I’m not sure where you have been living.
Yeah i don't prefer any side and could understand that iPhone was worse here. I'm just gonna assume it's so the scores are suspenseful at the end and don't result in a draw
@BDTech9 hmm... that's interesting if the newer models have it. I have a Galaxy s23 and it doesn't have a mic on the back. My friend has an iPhone 12 and that one does. The difference in audio is massive when recording videos from the rear camera, but then when recording with the front cam, it's similar. So the rear mic really makes a huge difference.
Another reason why I have an iPhone, I make sooo much video’s and even my old iPhone 7 and my new 16 pro max sound the same, Apple is years ahead with video.
I feel like the first point was a bit of a scam. If the iphone camera app is still ‘better’ (he said he ‘still prefers it’), just the fact that the Samsung one is _better than before_ feels a bit biased - it’s about which is better, not which is most improved.
@@jmvchak lil bro he recommended s24U as the best phone for 2024, pipe down. S25U is pure disappointment, nothing else added besides new chip and the ultrawide camera. Rest everything else is the same. Apple and Pixel would destroy s25U this year
Not just night mode, but also smoothness in the gradient of pictures, camera compatibility in third party apps like Zoom, Snapchat, Instagram, etc., size of the image files, selfie and rear camera videos, panorama stitching quality, and so on

@mrwhosetheboss, the selfie video on S25 Ultra looks better based on your video because your hair became blonde on the iPhone but retained the authentic color on Samsung.
9:33 you can do this on iPhone as well, but it lets you choose the best photo in general and doesn’t separate faces. So it will give you a video scrub option on the Live Photo and you can pick which you like best
@@Tostiroasterthat would kill the storage, he compared amount of space did you see The iPhone 24mp is taking lesser space than 12pm Samsung, hence you can’t use it as default
@@VishalSharma-eq7lh that was true, but that was a bad point in his video. The live photo with the animation is stored seperatly, its not in the 3.8 or so mb he showed. He also didnt turn on HEIF, which is the same thing as on the iphone but for samsung. It would still probably take up more space if you also wanted to save a live photo with it, but you do have the option between 12, 50 and 200mp, with 12 saving space relative to apples 24mp shots
Picture and audio quality will suffer in a youtube video due to compression. Therefore both will look and sound better in real life. It will be also easier to find more differences if we have the original file. Otherwise we have to trust his judgment.
I strongly believe Samsung fans will disagree on this, I am using both phones, iPhone is so good at Video and Samsung should improve on this. Thanks for this video.
I’m happy with the 16 Pro Max, lets see if the 17 upgrade will be worth it this year. Upgrading from my 15 pro Max to 16 one wasn’t that big of a leap…
Hey Arun, love the videos like this one. Although it is really fun to watch such videos I can’t help but find it inconsistent on how you just add up the points for each category. For most (almost all) people the audio is definitely not as important as the video or the photo quality of a smartphone camera. I would really love it if you could take a sort of assign a total score for each category and then add them up(a weighted mean of sorts). For example audio is graded out of 2 while video is graded out of 5 or 7. This would in my opinion make the comparison a little more fair for either phone.

Also, you can change the image codec in Samsung to reduce the image size. But, yeah, as he was talking about the default settings, iPhone's images are more compressed.
Just not right… it does
@@jay_z0540 Try downloading the entire photo to a desktop, the size changes drastically.

@ebukaekwu9929thats cause he didn't use the 200mp or 50mp mode on samsung and the 48mp mode on the iphone. He only used the standard settings where samsung is at 12mp and apple at 24mp. So it makes sense that apple has more details generally speaking

The storage comparison was something I hadn't seen before and is really important to me. Thanks for covering it!
Yeah, though I think he shouldve also added how much more expensive is getting more internal storage is on an iphone compared to a samsung
@@M99ZKno its not
Galaxy phones can save their photos in a high efficiency format like iPhone does.
@@PenAndSea but then the iphone is still 2x the resolution while also capturing live photos
So, you compared photo sizes between JPG (S25) and HEIF (iPhone). JPG will always be larger in this scenario. In the Samsung camera app, you can change to HEIF as well, it uses way less space, also for motion photos.
Wish Samsung did JPEG XL by default now instead of JPG
Why JPG and/or HEIF and not RAW?
Samsung also does heif by default. On my s21 that's what it captures photos in? Or did i change the setting and forgot about it 🤔

You shouldn't trust his opinion. You should form your own.
@ Who the F cares about it?
I honestly think this was a dull year for Samsung hardware. They could have done much more with the cameras. Great testing as always!
@@todorzhelyazkov987 hey so 180hz wont be happening since its a waste of battery life
@@todorzhelyazkov987 more mp doesn't make for better cameras that's what they tell you, but it's a lie to get more sells.

Considering he's a big tech tuber he should know this
Thanks for mentioning something less than 5-10% of Samsung users know and care about and will actually do it.

Why didn't Samsung's 8K LOG Video factor into the comparisons btw? Like, a comparison between ProRAW and Samsung's 8K Log color graded?
To be fair, the test is more about when an average/mid user is engaging with the camera, not about a professional trying to squeeze the most out of it.
@@csskrouble at one point in this video Arun says that most of his work as influencer is done on selfie camera taking videos, and this heavily influenced his judgement

I feel the mic of Samsung is way ahead here 11:28 🙃
Not really, the iPhone sounded like him. The Samsung had something wrong.

@@vigour6786 thats not even true, maybe in the s22 ultra.

2:04 God the difference in audio is enormous.
I wonder why Samsung doesn't implement a microphone at the back side of their phones like Apple does.
They do but I think they only use it for audio zoom
@BDTech9 hmm... that's interesting if the newer models have it.
I have a Galaxy s23 and it doesn't have a mic on the back.
My friend has an iPhone 12 and that one does.
The difference in audio is massive when recording videos from the rear camera, but then when recording with the front cam, it's similar.
So the rear mic really makes a huge difference.
@ base S23 should have it.
Samsung phones have had it since the note 10+

Hey Arun, love the videos like this one.
Although it is really fun to watch such videos I can’t help but find it inconsistent on how you just add up the points for each category. For most (almost all) people the audio is definitely not as important as the video or the photo quality of a smartphone camera. I would really love it if you could take a sort of assign a total score for each category and then add them up(a weighted mean of sorts). For example audio is graded out of 2 while video is graded out of 5 or 7. This would in my opinion make the comparison a little more fair for either phone.
They are never consistent.
