It’s a road with many turns. Nothing to prove. Just ride your ride. Both bikes look great. The Gold Wing Lexus with a sublime Porsche sounding flat six and the KTM 1290 beast. Ride safe and ride often.
Thanks Douglas, it was a dream of mine that I wanted to do for a long time. I go to the smokies 2-3 times a year, but never get to ride a motorcycle. The Goldwing made this trip possible. Rode a little over 2500 miles round trip this week, just got back home yesterday. My previous record was only 300 miles 😂. If you make it up there, check out the rattler, It’s a Beautiful scenic road. It’s not as known as the tail of the dragon, but just as fun!!! (NC-209, Hot Springs, NC 28743) I rode that when I was leaving Maggie valley, riding over to Nashville. I think next year, I’ll trailer my bike there so the wife and ride these roads together.
That’s awesome, Honda is really good about test rides. Trust me, she will surprise you. She’s really easy to handle at low speeds, and in sport mode, she comes to life. I know I must sound like a fan boy 😂, but take her for a test ride. I ridden at least 50 motorcycles, and as far as baggers go, you can’t beat the handling and performance of the Goldwing. Just one last word of caution ⚠️, (you might get the Goldwing bug if you do take that test-ride😂) I tested a 2015 F6b and a 2018 dtc and got the bug, a few moths later bought the 2021.
@@twowheelingtodd4973 Yeah that's why I'm afraid. Haha. I'm actually good friends with all of guys there. I've known and also worked with the sales guy since the 80s. They sell Indian there as well which I have a FTR.
@@mkoehler222 lol, that’s how they get you!!! My dealer lets me ride anything whenever, they know I’m a motorcycle addict. The Goldwing is bike number 25 in the last 5 years. ( I need to go to rehab 😂)
@@twowheelingtodd4973 That's way too funny. I can't even imagine. Well if anyone should know it's you. We'll see I guess. I was kind of wanting to wait until next year since it's starting to get to winter soon but I had to see your video. Lol.
@@mkoehler222 Dont let me be a bad influence, 😂😂😂 ( I heard rumor that the 2022 might have radar cruise control) waiting might not be a bad idea. I test rode the 2022 bmw R18b and that feature was the coolest part of that bike.
She’s not too bad for a big girl, I traded my retro sport bike for her and I loved that bike. It was the fastest bike I’ve ever owned, but Goldwing honestly satisfies my urge for acceleration and will surprise anyone in the twisties. That’s really saying a lot about a bike that is an amazing highway cruiser, and is still very playful to ride.
@@harryhowell5644 This Goldwing is bike number 25 for me in the last 6 years. I loved almost every bike. The only Harley I’ve owned was a 2016 Nightrod special, hands down the sexiest bike I’ve owned, but she was like riding a bbq grill. Way too hot 🥵
The windshield is from national cycle, this is the second windshield I bought from them. The first was for my Kawasaki Z900rs. They have really good quality, and anti-scratch protective coating. Their demos show their windscreen vs others. They use bats, guns and even bird round from a 50 cal shotgun. Others crack to pieces, this just gets holes. I’m really happy with this windshield, there is no buffering at all, compared to the stock windshield. At 80mph , I was able to drink my coffee ☕️. Below is the link for this windshield. I got mine on eBay for $189.00 www.nationalcycle.com/vehicles/motorcycle-1/honda/hondagl1800goldwing/2021hondagl1800goldwing/n20023.html
Thanks and happy turkey day. The windshield is from National cycle. Im really happy with it. Its my 2nd National cycle windshield, first one was for my Kawasaki Z900rs, and it held up great also. It’s not scratching at all. And I cleaned with a paper towel while on my trip (couldn’t find my microfiber towel) I was worried I would have scratched, but it’s in perfect condition. I’ll paste the link to the website my exact windscreen below. I bought from eBay for $30.00 less www.nationalcycle.com/vehicles/motorcycle-1/honda/hondagl1800goldwing/2021hondagl1800goldwing/n20023.html
Yah, I was a little disappointed, but Everything happens for a reason. If the road was dry, I would have gave it a lot more beans. Unfamiliar road with a new bike might have been bad for me 😂 can’t wait to do it again, hopefully dry next time.
Hey Jim, that’s pretty comical 😂, it’s really funny that someone with no videos of him actually riding a bike can tell someone how to ride. I know I rode the hell out of 2nd, and I did that for a reason. It was cold and wet, I found that engine braking was needed, but your not too far in Pennsylvania from the dragon. I bought this Goldwing and 3weeks later took this 2600 mile road trip. You should take a ride and video yourself on a nice cold wet day and show me how it’s done ✅. Please reply when your video is posted, I and everyone here would love to see how it’s done.

Your comment made my buddies day!!! He said, damn right, my KTM 1290 is a beast!!! 😂 😂😂
Cool, this is my fourth time on your video. Great video.
Thanks Todd for your video would really like to get over there one day and ride the tail of the dragon looks fantastic great work 👍👍👍

Manual DCT tour mode in 2nd 👍. That’s basically what my 1500 Wing was comfortable in there for the 318 turns (2nd).
Yah, it’s really hard to get out of 2nd (especially when I was there) cold and wet. 😂
Sweet GW! Mine is a 2018-looks like a wonderful ride. Some day I will get over there and do it. Nice job! New sub!
Thanks , definitely worth the trip. I can’t wait to go back. (Hopefully on a dry day next time)
NICE RIDE , WISH WE CAN RIDE WITH MY DCT GW
Me too 👍🏻
Funny how it almost sounds like a k1600 in this video
