Truly a game changer for post production sound. Coincides perfectly with Pro Tools’ new integrated Atmos renderer. The iPad functionality as a dedicated monitor controller is also GENIUS. Well done Audient, can’t wait to pick one up for the studio!
very interesting. the immersive thing is about to explode I believe so great Audient have jumped on this early. It is going to be everywhere very soon including live sound so getting the jump on it is a good move. It is already out there of course but I do think it will become a lot more prevalent soon. Thanks for pointing out the measurement mic is somewhat tied to the software too. Good to be upfront about these things. Great work Audient!!
So many questions about this product come across but I’ve got to say congratulations to the Audient team for developing something like this. Looking forward to getting one some day when I get to invest into Atmos. How this would behave with something like Pro Tools | Carbon and the newly added Atmos Renderer inside Pro Tools?
The ORIA could just be used as a standalone monitor controller using the ADAT outputs of the Carbon if you didn't want to use the ORIA as your interface. ORIA will happily receive audio from the Pro Tools renderer and we hope to add the same Downmix integration as we have with the Dolby Renderer to the integrated DAW renderers in the near future.
Well done Audient! Much more than I expected, much more useful and highly-demanded but simple item than I expected. Congrats! Two questions: when & how much? :)
Very nice. Love the UI design. A couple of questions: #1 What about setups with 4 subwoofers, like the Marantz Cinema 50 that can do 5.4.4, is it possible to replicate that setup on the ORIA? #2 Can the ORIA be used to watch BluRay or streaming movies in Dolby Atmos in Windows, like a AV processor? #3 Why did you choose 24bit for recording audio instead of 32bit that can record audio without clipping?
ORIA only has 1 subwoofer output so if you were using a system with more sub-channels and external bass management system may need to be used alongside ORIA to handle your cross-overs. ORIA can be used to watch media that outputs in Dolby. But please bear in mind that ORIA does not handle the ATMOS rendering, this would need to be done on the PC itself. 24 24-bit audio is widely prevalent and already gives a massive dynamic range. 32-bit audio isn't widely supported just yet and the additional dynamic range it theoretically provides isn't that useful as the actual audio circuitry will be the limiting factor in terms of noise floor. 32-bit floating point is slightly different again but is normally used for processing inside of DAWs rather than an actual playback format.
@@Audientworld Thanks for clarifying. I do feel that for €3Κ it should have 32bit float audio recording, since much cheaper audio interfaces already have it, like the Zoom UAC-232 and the SoundDevices MixPre II line. And ommiting this feature already dates the product. 4 sub outs should also been impleneted, since consumer devices like the Marantz Cinema 50 and 40 already support them. I have no problem paying as much but I expect a great all in one interface like this to pack everything in, and be on the cutting edge of the latest tech, for me personally to pull the trigger and invest in.
I have been waiting for an affordable product to come out. I am on the wait list. Question- What frame is being used to support the front top speakers in this video. I am looking for that type of solution for my studio so that top speakers don't need to be mounted to the ceiling. I have been considering using a truss system. But they are very limited in sizes. I am ready to start immersing my studio into imersive audio using the Audient Oria.
After the 60-day trial period of SoundID Reference ends, any Profiles you have made using Sonarworks will no longer work. If you wish to continue using these Profiles, you would need to purchase a SoundID Reference for Multichannel license and re-import your profiles into the ORIA app.
if I have a couple of nearfield speakers that I want to be able to have both in a 2.1(Sterio)setup and as LR in Atmos, do i connect them to the outputs that are dedicated to Atmos or to Dedicated Stereo Outputs?
You would connect these to the surround outputs, you can then create a profile for 2.1 monitoring that uses the L, R and Sub channels and create another profile for your ATMOS monitoring that uses the full set of surround channels
Is it possible to listen to spatial audio on apple music on the studio monitors connected to the interface ? I always found ridiculous that it is very difficult ( and expensive ) to reference mixes on apple music
Yes it is! We used this with a Mac at our launch event to demonstrate Dolby Atmos with Apple Music, which currently supports a maximum of 7.1.4 - but can be fed through ORIA including the Advanced Speaker Processing
@@Audientworld What about Microsoft Windows support and movie audio playback ? I can see this interface be very nice for a small high quality computer based home theater setup.
@@Audientworld If I understand correctly, it won't decode any bitstream in driver or hardware. As far as I know, the only ATMOS option for Windows is by using the Dolby Access app which expects a bitstream decoder at the other end. Guess it won't work then. Thanks for the reply!
ORIA will retail at UK £2520 inc VAT; Euro €2885 and US $2625 MAP. The optional Dante Card is priced at UK £600; Euro €685 and US $625 MAP
Ufff...
damm, guess we all were wrong ahaha
Sounds quite good and reasonable for what it delivers immediately. :) Thanks for the prompt information.
@@DevanshRastogi why? :What was the expectation? :)
It would be icing on the cake if the drivers could also support Windows WDM 5.1 and 7.1 surround like Focusrite drivers already do.
Audient is always ahead of the competition when it comes to advancing workflow and performance in the studio. This is exciting!
I'm truly blown away! WOW! I wasn't expecting this from Audient. This completely changes the world of surround design and mixing!

THANK YOU!!! This is the ONE thing that NO other interface company seems to want to do. Amazing to see you guys take the step, thank you.

I think Audient is a great company, this isn't aimed at them, but I'll be glad when Dolby stops pushing Atmos on everyone.
It's good to see that FRONT WIDE channels are fully supported.
I've been waiting for this. Please tell the exact system latency.

The Speaker frame was designed and made ourselves using Scaffolding pipes and clamps so we could make it custom for our studio.
Had my back to this video for a short while thought Vernon kaye was selling it to me 😂
only thing missing is eARC support
when the license for reference id runs out, do you keep the profiles you created or do you have to buy a license from Sonarworks?
