5 years later Im still feasting on this dudes knowledge. I always circle back and recalibrate with some dope Morgan Cooper content every so often.
You are a legend bro.. I want to see you win an oscar one day...
Great format. Thanks for sharing all of this info. Its important as a film making community that its not always about beating out someone. Often its more beneficial to share. Huge respect points.
Thanks man! I appreciate that.
Exactly my thoughts , especially since i’m a new aspiring Filmmaker/ Cinematographer
Thats really cool man. Thanks for taking the time to let us in on how you think on set. Definitely tuning in to all the future breakdowns to come.
You're very welcome!
YES! Thank you so much for doing this for us Cooper!
You're welcome, Mason! Thx for watching, man
Super super DOPE Morgan. Thanks for taking the time to do this, much appreciated and enjoyed.
You got it!
Best format ever, please continue ! Thank you for your job, I learn a lot with this kind of content. Your vision of a shot is very interesting, you are doing a very precise analyse and that help me understand your choices. Your vision remind me how important the contrast is, it's all abour light and colors. It's much more interesting than just product review or gear talks
Thanks for watching, Lucas! Looking forward to doing more breakdowns like this.
Good to see you posting another cinematic breakdown, these are awesome. Thank you so much bro and keep them coming. Many blessing to you always!
You got it, man!
This was an amazing breakdown.. love to see more
These are dope man. Would love to see more of these
Amazing work ...please do more breakdowns !
Thank you!! I appreciate you doing this for us!
No doubt man!
Thank you for this, this is amazing. Learning a lot from you man, keep it up.
Damn fam. Dropping all the gems.Thanks.
Yeah man, def keep these breakdowns coming. A big part of what helps are the behind the scenes shots. If you plan to do more of these, please take more of those b/c those really help add value to these videos. Thank you for doing this
Great feedback, thanks man!
You're so down to earth, I really appreciate your videos. In a future breakdown, could you talk about coverage/shot lists? I personally struggle with splitting up action into different shots and deciding what to cover, etc. Keep up the good work dude. I recently watched your new reel and compared it with your 2014 reel. The difference is astonishing, you've grown so much.
Can you continue doing these breakdowns! I like them! can u do one for your film On Sight
Yep I will keep doing these- I don't think I'll do one for On Sight because we shot it so long ago, but there will definitely be more! Thx for watching
love these man! Keep doing them
This was dope, definitely one of your best breakdowns. Using the pen and tablet adds a lot and the behind the scenes shots also tell us a lot that we often can't get from a still frame. Learning a lot man, gonna put this to use this weekend!
thanks for that feedback and I'm glad it was helpful!
Awesome breakdown!! Thanks for sharing!
Keep em coming. Super useful for thought process on approaching a scene/look
will do, Cory!
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL BRO !
This is such a good insight/way of learning how to produce beautiful professional images for aspiring videographers/cinematographers such as myself. So grateful and looking forward to more like this and practicing!
more on the way, my friend!
Awesome :)
Love these videos. Nice to see how someone works!
Thx Zach!
Saw your RED video.. thought to myself, "this dude is dope". Noticed the Alpha logo in a couple shots.. no way! I've been working with those guys for awhile now.
Anyways, amazing breakdown dude. Love seeing the design behind these gorgeous shots.
thank you Ryan! Hope all is well w/ you, man
Deadly Coop. Thanks for giving me something to listen to while in the lab editing the night away.

More on the way!
i really loved the sounds for this one bro. wondering how you got great audio
I really enjoy these breakdowns - they are some of the best I've seen so far. Would be great to see a breakdown of the grading too!
A bonus question; in your breakdowns you mention using the Dracast 1x1, but I'm wondering if you are using any diffusion etc. on them?
Great Video! So much helpful info! Can you do an in-depth video on how you get such perfect exposures in flat picture profiles? Maybe using various tools/techniques? Cause not everyone has access to false color monitors. Great work tho man, these videos are great!
Thank you man!
Happy to do it!
good stuff man... keep em coming!
Will do, Nathaniel!
you have really great videos!
Great break down
Thx Arthur!
I'd like to see these really differentiate from Cinematography Database.
Hi cooper is really helpful with your breakdown here , can share camera setting with your red scarlet w too thx man
Great stuff. I like the use of the black flag. Really gave great dynamic range for the first shot
No doubt!
I'm a new filmmaker. I want to thank you for sharing. I have learned quite a great deal and your giving me the confidence to actually go out and do it myself. Thanks Bro keep it up...
Sweet, Love this.
Thx J!
Cinematography DB + Cooper = this awesome piece of content
Thx E!
Hi man! Great colors! What kind of setting did you use on the scarlet? Shooting with the scarlet-w for the first time next week, so looking for some tips and tricks!
I think I was at ISO 800 for this entire shoot and then a mixture of 180, 135 and 90 degree shutter angles- 4500K for a lot of the shoot
Cooper whats going on. Do you think you can share the script and the script breakdown for this video? I am really trying to understand this process. I believe that I am over thinking this aspect of production. When I look at this video, clearly I can see this as a scene in a movie, yet when you talk it didn't seem that complicated. For sure analyzing the technicals on this will help me understand pre-production better.
Catching up.
Hi Coop, tnx for BTS, what a focal lens on last 2 shots?
55mm!
I like your shirt. and this too.
Thx E!!!
hey cooper bro i have a black magic cinema camera and I'm trying to find a good audio work flow what did you use when you had that camera ,my concern is i want to avoid hissing sound when recording actors and interviews what did you use
i gotta ask...were you even using any filters in that mattebox, or just had it on your rig to look more "production". ;)
Great fun of ur videos
What Matte box you using is that TILTA. ?
nice!
