I posted a new video using a different electric spray gun with matte black on the Rat Rod PT cruiser i am building feel free to browse my videos for more on that! Hope y’all enjoy the videos!
For everybody that is talking sheet, remember this is a paint job for $80. This is for people who only have $80 to put towards a paint job. From that perspective, this looks great.
Some commentators tend to forget these videos are for those who want to try DIY. I enjoy doing all my own work. I’ve always wanted to paint my own car and take pride in my work. Why would I spend $4000 to paint a $2500 car?
For being the 1st time it’s not bad , I’d never painted a whole car but I thought painting the roof 1st was smart because I’m clumsy I know if it’s me and I painted the sides I’d probably screw up the sides trying to paint the top, nonetheless not bad
He did a decent job, painting cars ain’t hard! NOTE: You should wash the car to remove any wax and loose dirt BEFORE you begin to sand the paint down. This will help prevent deep scratches, and it will help to stop your sandpaper from clogging up too quickly. 1. Sand car until there’s absolutely no sheen or shine showing. 2. Use primer to cover any bare metal surfaces. 3. If you’re using body filler to fill in dents and dings, make sure you sand down to bare metal BEFORE you apply the body filler. Also, hit the spot with some wax and grease remover before you apply the filler. Then, apply the filler, let it dry, then sand the filler down until it’s smooth and primer over it. 4. Lightly sand the primer down to reduce any texturizing left behind from spraying the primer. If you sand through the primer, just re-primer that spot and lightly sand again. 5. Mask off any areas where you don’t want paint. 6. Use wax and grease remover on the ENTIRE car, or the surface areas you intend to paint. After this, DO NOT touch the car with your bare hands. Your skin stays covered in oil and sodium deposits, it will ruin your paint job. If you end up touching the car, just use some more wax and grease remover on that spot. 7. Use a tack cloth to remove any leftover dust and debris. 8. Mix the paint in the bucket by itself thoroughly BEFORE you mix in the reducer, hardener, pearls, flakes, or any other additives. Then, of course, mix in the proper amount of additives. 9. Use a strainer when pouring the mixed paint into your paint gun. 10. Use a test surface to ensure your gun is spraying evenly and consistently. 11. Wet ground if necessary, which reduces flying dust particles. If you accidentally wet the car, grab your wax and grease remover and thoroughly dry that area before you begin to paint. 12. Start spraying your paint! Keep the gun at least six inches away from the car, and move at a steady pace. Move too fast, and your paint won’t be even, and you’ll have to do more coats. Move too slow, and your paint will run, and you’ll have to sand that area down and start over. You’ll learn the right speed as you proceed with your paint job. NEVER try to cover the surface with just one coat! Do light, even coats until all the paint is uniform. 13. If you’re doing a base coat/clear coat job, apply at least two coats of base coat and let it dry BEFORE you apply the clear coat. Once the base coat dries, tack the car down with a tack rag, while wearing gloves so you don’t transfer any oil from your skin, then start to lay down your clear using the same technique you used to lay down the base. If you’re using the same gun for the base and the clear, make sure you clean the gun thoroughly. Also, make sure to use a strainer when pouring the clear into the gun. With clear coat, it’s best to not let the clear dry completely before you lay down the next coat. Let the clear coat flash dry, until it’s just tacky, then lay as many coats as you want. Three coats of high quality clear will usually have your paint looking wet, even when it’s dry. 14. Let the paint flash dry a little longer this time, then pull off your masking BEFORE the paint dries completely. This will help assure the paint doesn’t peel off with the tape. Don’t let anyone touch the paint, and DON’T let the car get wet for at LEAST 24 hours after the paint job is finished. 15. Enjoy your freshly painted car!
Y so much hate on my man .... Jeez i dont see no where him saying hes a professional painter .... This dude spent 75 bucks on painting a car .... All these dude popping up trying to clown him that are painters it cost 4 grand for a color change at a shop let this man do what he want its his car
Besides if you are a professional what are you doing watching a novice/hobbiest paint his car. Life is too short to not experiment, just do it man. Trial and error it’s my motto, cheers!!!!
First off dude you did an awesome job 1.you did it outside no tarp, tent ,nothing 2. You used tractor paint 3. With an electric sprayer Fuck the haters great job chief
First time using a sprayer, you did well. If you do it again, don't put the first coat on so thick, thats why it was running. Next time make the first coat light, and let it dry; repeat process until the car is covered. Good job man. You've inspired me to do my car lol i just ordered some paint, i'll upload a video in a week
For the cost and time/effort, great results. In the old days it's what we'd call a '20/20 paint job' - looks just fine from 20 feet away, driving by at 20 mph.
i would advise to spray the top first because if you paint it last you can get overspray on hood and trunk. also strain that paint 2 times or more . if you ran unstrained paint through a hvlp gun it would surely clog the strainer built in the gun. also spraying at sundown you risk dew falling that dulls paint. spray early and let dry. you did very good with the tools you used
DUDEEE!! This changes EVERYTHING for me! I run a Restoration, paint a bodywork business on the side but don’t have a air compressor or paint gun this electric paint hun changes everything for me! Thanks bro
To all the guys saying it looks like crap you must have piles of cash laying around. You don't invest in a beater car period. This thing looks decent with new paint and nobody is looking at a 20 year old car expecting it to be perfect anyway. It looks good from 20 feet away and that's all that matters to this guy. If you wanna spend 2-4 thousand to repaint a 1000$ car go for it.
That's very true my friend, for someone to spend thousands of dollars on an older car is a bad investment cause it wont make it worth anymore, all it would do as far as value is move it from fair condition to good condition, but yes the fact that you did it yourself makes it all self rewarding,, I own a 95 Corolla that I wish I can paint, but when I start cleaning windows and rugs, boy does it look good for an old car, keep up the good work kid 👍
Using what you used this is a good job. There will always be negative comments from people who wouldn’t even attempt to even try but that’s people for you.Keep up the good work.
Why do I keep seeing so many videos where they paint bottom up? Shouldn't they start with the roof first? Si they can reach without worrying about mess8ng up the sides? I'm no professional! By any means! I've only recently discovered my passion for painting cars! I watch these videos like they're CRACK and I'm addicted! My husband and I have decided to let me paint my Father in laws older Ford Ranger - just the same red as it always was - but I haven't got to do it yet... That being said, I've painted 5 houses, top to bottom, including shelves and drawers and if I say so myself, I'm pretty good at it. I wouldn't usually say so myself but I've had tons of people see my work and they all ask of I used a professional and then commend me. So I must not be BAD at it. Anyway, as I said I've been watching, studying, taking notes... and aim fairly confident that I can do this. But common sense would tell you.... top to bottom ... Right? 🤷🏼♀️😕
The rims and the part "I really appreciate that...if you're watching my channel, I really appreciate that" that made this vid 1000x better. I know I can't be the only one that enjoyed that. Great people ! Great vid!
Your the first person I've seen use the gun to paint a car. I've read reviews about people doing it but never seen pictures but after watching your video I think I'll go this route to paint my crx. This grey with black trim will definitely go well on my crx 😊
2 tips for "next time" 1) if you're leaving trim on doors, etc. Tape it off before sanding. It will prevent it from getting scratched up. 2) When painting, use multiple thin layers to achieve full coverage. As opposed to trying to get full coverage in 1st coat. Far less orange peel and runs
I had an old 72 F100 I gave $100 for years ago it was supper faded red truck sat in this guys back yard for years and I had some MAB black enamel paint I rolled the whole damn thing out with a roller I used one big roller and a few little ones to get the hard places and spray the door jams with spray paint I am telling you for an old truck it looked great you could not tell unless you got super close to it and I did not care about using a roller it was a truck I use to drive to work I put big Kelly safaris tires on it i got real cheap and drove the hell out of that thing for years and when I got rid of it years later I got $800 out of it the body was in great condition that's why the guy wanted it and then he fixed it all up and is still running to this day.
It's a budget paint job that looks very nice a lot of people gets cars that may need a little body work and paint but you can actually take a $300 car and make it into a $1000 car easily , good job it's very encouraging
I am a commericial painter by trade and you just gave me something to do this fall. Dodge uses such crappy paint and clear that its peeling off my car. I was genuinely going to pay someone but now I just owe ya a beer.
Future reference. Edges first. Top to bottom. That way you can reach and not worry about touching side. Thinner coat and a little more reduced helps on the orange peel. Looks good. Always liked that color
As a person with experience painting I would do the roof before you do the entire side so you can get in close and over spray falls down more than up. Also move the gun a bit faster and a tiny bit more away from the surface and you won't get runs.
Those of you that dis this guy need to remember this a 100 dollar paint job. I've sprayed two pickups with tractor enamel however I used a cheap air compressor and spray gun. The trick is to use the right type of tip, but, a good finish sand and polish on this finish and a lot of the flaws will come out. It is what it is...an inexpensive paint job. Taking a little more care with the technique could have produced a little better result but for 100 bucks he did good!
It's a good educational video for people who don't know how, the gun just doesn't do the trick for automotive painting imo, but for under a 100 on an old beater, who cares right? Happy wet sanding , and use a soft block to keep the blisters on your fingers to a minimum.
Don't care for the negative comments I do like a Hands-On techniques you used on the budget paint job looks really great I've done some of those myself and the results are miraculous God bless keep up the good work I love watching your videos for tips and ideas on my own projects
After seeing your video I think I'll paint my old 89 Nissan Hard Body its gray right now ,can't wait for it to look as good as your ride .Thanks for the video, Son. God Bless
For those talking sheet. Why would you put a $4,000 paint job on a $2,000 car? This is a great way to make your car look a lot better on a small budget.
True top to bottom. What my Father taught me. He had his own body did very well raising us and made a good name for him self out his garage so hey he can make extra $.
I agree 100%.I'm gonna start doing the gun painting I am just trying to give people options. But i think its time for me to get more serious on quality.
I'm not a big Honda guy, but there are quite a few things that brought me and kept me interested in this video... 1. Youre upload is RECENT. Viewing videos on things and seeing it being 7 years ago doesn't help. 2. You used an ELECTRIC spray gun. I've owned the same exact one. I used it to DIP my first car panels and it came out alright. I have a brand new one sitting in my new car ready to go. I was deciding between this one and the new Avanti one that they just produced. The settings, dials and tips look a lot better quality. Still undecided. 3. You painted a car 4. You used a color close to the color I'd like to go with, so that was refreshing / satisfying. 5. You were somewhat very detailed in the job. I haven't viewed your other videos...which I'm going to do. 6. It came out pretty well. There are techniques that I'd use next time such as spraying the top first..etc etc... I'm also impressed how well it turned out WITH THE GUN in such adverse conditions. 7. I've subscribed.... sub back!!!
Everybody doesn't want a $3000 paint job, especially on a cheaper vehicle.I got quoted $2800 to paint a 1985 Dodge truck, only worth maybe $3 grand. Will be primerring it myself, and possibly paint(flat or satin black Rustoleum ).I think the car looks fine, especially for the money spent.
The negative nancies are probably professionals that would rather people pay $5,000 on up for a spray paint job. This is the best video so far I've seen using the cheap electric spray gun. It's too bad you're in Texas, I'd like you to spray paint my car.
That looks damn good young man. Don’t forget to paint the “ hood jams “ when you paint the door jams. I saw that turqouise color in there. Something else to remember. I once had an old pickup back in the late 70’s when I was in High School that I painted with tractor paint. Whenever I would pass a cornfield or an alfalfa field I would hafta struggle with the steering wheel to keep the truck on the road. It kept wanting to get off the road and go out in the field and work. That taught me to never paint another vehicle with International red. Be careful! 👨🌾
Why the hate? Did yall see the car before he repainted it? It looks way better. Personally I wouldn't paint my daily like this, but I got an old work truck this would be perfect for.
I was thinking about using Majic paint from Tractor Supply. I thought it might be better or more suitable for a vehicle than Rustoleum rattle cans. I've found Rustoleum to be rather "soft" in the past. The complaint I hear is that Rustoleum spray enamel paints fade rather quickly. But I see that you've countered that problem by using a hardener. I guess for vehicles like we have, we don't need an expensive urethane car paint. I like your video. It shows me exactly what to expect and do for when I start my paint job.
It looks good for what it is bro, Nice job. Next time you paint don't just go with 1 coat though. Put a light coat on first. Like a fog coat/mist. Don't try to cover it all on the first coat. Light coat then a medium coat and 1 heavy coat to finish it. That way you want have any runs. Or not as many that is. And it helps keep the Orange peel down. Now I'm not knocking your paint job bro so please don't take it that way. Because for what it is, it does look good. Keep it up
Looks great. This gives me confidence to get some equipment to spray my car. I have an old beater that I'm going to practice on first and then move to my daily
This is great for my son's project Accord. It's his first car and the paint is done for. Was looking for a cheap option, because well it's his first car. Thanks...
Hey man, that didn't turn out bad at all. I may go this route with my integra. With some wet sanding, and rubbing compound, you could get that pretty slick. I came looking for an inexpensive spray gun to paint guitars with. I'm glad I found this video.
Looks good from 10 feet away. Pretty good for your first time. But 2 thin coats are way better than one ticket coat and you won't have any runs. I do like the brown tint to the paint. Now let's see it wet sanded and buffed out.
Everyday Cars i*My first time painting out of the electric gun* not my first paint job ever but yea it didn’t turn out very bad it did need wet sanded but I’m wet sanding with 400 and adding another layer with the HVLP then adding pearl clear over it.
Man I’ve watched a lot of DIY auto paint work and this is the best one yet! I appreciate that you did it outside and overall make it look very doable for the average guy .. I have ‘99 RAV4 will try this method out eventually
Try laying your paint on in layers. Start with a really light layer that doesn't give you full coverage. Then apply a medium coat. Lastly, apply a wet coat but not so wet you create a run. Much better than one super thick coat.
A good tip for the seals is to wedge a thick piece of string under, it'll hold the seal up. You can wrap your tape over the edge of the seal, when you lay your paint it'll go underneath where the seal will sit.
Not too bad for using that spray gun. I think the biggest problem you had was the wind. Being windy, it forced you to spray heavier to compensate for it. Still though, I gotta hand it to ya for your efforts, a paint job for the lack of equipment or not isn't for the faint of heart. I have a 02 Honda Accord, I would like to paint it one day, it's been years since I repainted and fixed a car up. Great going man, you did good.
I think it came out pretty decent, maybe next time cut back on the fluid if that sprayer has an adjustment for it, the orange peel is just from it going on too heavy, but hey, it's a learning curve with a new prayer no matter what the brand or style
I found use harbor freight canopy great on sale for 50 dollar Buy two of them and throw heavy duty plastic all over It's portable paint booth Try it it's great
Not having friends or distractions is a good thing i never would have the confidence in myself to work on and paint cars and bikes! Been watching this every day for a week making a list waiting for payday and REWATCHING FOR TECHNIQUE used to paint houses and covered patios and it made me hate it but maybe this project will bring to light to something im good at! :) Thanks for the confidence boost! 95 saturn wagon slammed and cut into a ute looking truck
the paint job is in the prep and the MIX,the mix is everything, but none of that matters if the car is dirty, finger oil will ruin your day, coating a vehicle has rules, putting many light coats will give you the results you want
An absolutely excellent job of documenting an at home, budget friendly, paint job on an entire vehicle. Thank you for your efforts, great job and the outcome looks great for what it is 👍🏽
Looks great brother, killer work... Pro tip spray the roof and hood and trunk first , it's less of a risk of rubbing it to fresh paint. No disrespect ... Just noticed that
You're right. It's a "decent" job for DIY. Now the Trolls come out, breathless- You shoulda, woulda, coulda, and the totally fake millionaires with garages full of Hypercars- has it sent out, "Professionally" sprayed- only to become another lien against the trust fund. You own a decently shiny old Civic- it's reliable AF, good on gas, won't attract scumbags with keys or sirens. Think about it. I think this came out great- for what it is- considering all the factors involved.
HUBBABUBBA DOOPYDOOP Giving the conditions it wasn’t bad but never claimed it was flawless haha. It needs more work to be great but I’m working on that soon enough. Thanks for the comment!!
I used the same gun on a cabinet job. Came out awesome. It is a crappy cheap gun that can be difficult at times. Over spray everywhere. Make sure you refill when you are down to 1/3 of the cup or it will spit all over your work. Make sure you lube it or it will stick and make a bzzzzzzzzzz sound. On sale it goes for $15 regular price is $25. If you can get yourself a better user friendly gun. For the price its great.
Next time start from the roof so you can lean over more and not worry about touching the paint on the doors, also do two coats and you'll be able to wet sand it way more
You should always mix the paint in the can well before ever pouring it out to mix. Pro tip I have been painting cars for 25 years. Damn fine paint job for outside with an electric sprayer. I have always wondered if it works. Now I know.
Thanks for the tip. I have painted for quiet a few years and always wanted to try this. I am by no means a pro but i know my way around a spray gun/spray can lol. Idk if i will do the electric sprayer again but if i do ill thin it out a little more.
That looks pretty damn good bro 👍... good job. I' m now disabled 37 years old but I'm holding on still to my 7th Honda civic (96-98) with hopes that I might be able to drive it one day. Keep up the good fun work much blessings bro 🙌
Just got the motivation i needed to paint my car. There is always trial and error when doing somethin unprofessional, but in this case he did a great do-it-yourself job
A friend did the same to a Beetle one winter, he didn't thoroughly mix the paint, he was sloshing the sprayer as he painted, it had an amazing orange fade effect, looked like he did it on purpose, started on the front like an orange cream cycle and went to a darker orange on the rear.
You are a brave man 😎 im thinking about flipping a few cars in my spare time, i will buy one with a terrible paintjob to start out with and use it to lower the price! I love painting, mostly because you get a feel for the car, and the results comes out instantly ❤ so a few mechanical issues and a shitty paint will be the first project! I painted alot of stuff with rattlecans, mostly scooters and inside car trim so om not new to this ! Thanks for the video i enjoyed every minute! 😁
Good job I’m balling on a budget, so I’m trying to do a paint job on Honda I bought $500. So this video really help. Never fails to have the UA-cam judges commenting lol
To get running paint off , just get duck tape and wrap it around your 4 fingers . Sticky side facing out and just dab the running paint and reapply paint if needed
I posted a new video using a different electric spray gun with matte black on the Rat Rod PT cruiser i am building feel free to browse my videos for more on that! Hope y’all enjoy the videos!
So awesome to see an update for this again, PT is gonna look sick! Keep up the good work!
Litteraly deciding betweeen spray cans, eletric sprayer, or tradditional compressor. Thanks for updating
Check my comment please give me a response
How’s the matte black look and which electric gun? Let me know
F high F Low
For everybody that is talking sheet, remember this is a paint job for $80. This is for people who only have $80 to put towards a paint job. From that perspective, this looks great.
I agree. Just doing budget stuff here, The Haters don't wanna save money and change their ride idk why they are here lol.
I second that , great work. If you ain’t got any haters you ain’t making enough noise! Comes with the territory
Some commentators tend to forget these videos are for those who want to try DIY. I enjoy doing all my own work. I’ve always wanted to paint my own car and take pride in my work. Why would I spend $4000 to paint a $2500 car?
Yess perfect for a tight budget
Facts
Friendly tips, 320 grit before primer, 600 grit before paint- avoid visible sand scratches. When spraying, work from top down.
Thanks for the tip

Can we spray gun electric for basecoat and clearcoat
800 for paint/clear
I'm just gonna use my HVLP set up with and agitator
He did a decent job, painting cars ain’t hard!

Yea for 4 grand I can fill up with gas for 2 years. 100 dollar paint job for me.
Do what you can with what you got. If he's happy then that's all that matters.
Besides if you are a professional what are you doing watching a novice/hobbiest paint his car. Life is too short to not experiment, just do it man. Trial and error it’s my motto, cheers!!!!
Nothing wrong with this

If someone's going to pay for paintjobs then one must have really low standards to accept this cowboy paintjob

PhilDog128 Thanks and it’s looking even better now. Newest video is up. Working on getting the rest done now.

Exactly my thoughts. These cars are ours. If you look at a painting on a wall they want you to stand back 6 ft....
Using what you used this is a good job. There will always be negative comments from people who wouldn’t even attempt to even try but that’s people for you.Keep up the good work.
I love cheap fun projects that actually have decent results! Good job man!
It's a cheap beater car, leave the guy alone. Looks way better than teal
Always start at the top and work your way down. Always.

Forget the haters and nitpickers. You got decent results for pennies on a dollar. A for effort
Dodge, paint washes off, so does the white GM uses on their commercial vans, so many here are bare metal, my 92 Dakota had a bare roof.
Future reference. Edges first. Top to bottom. That way you can reach and not worry about touching side. Thinner coat and a little more reduced helps on the orange peel. Looks good. Always liked that color
Thomas Algrim educate bro! You are spot on.
Dude for that to be done outside that’s actually pretty good bro no exhaust or nothing don’t see no one doing better job bro great freaking job
No exhaust? Like an exhaust vent? Outside? Huh?
Excellent work! Now I know how I'm going to paint my crappy old 1982 RV... a paint shop wanted $4,000!
It's a good educational video for people who don't know how, the gun just doesn't do the trick for automotive painting imo, but for under a 100 on an old beater, who cares right? Happy wet sanding , and use a soft block to keep the blisters on your fingers to a minimum.
It was more of a experiment but i have already wet sanded alot of it out and ima adding another coat with HVLP and doing 2K pearl clear
Don't care for the negative comments I do like a Hands-On techniques you used on the budget paint job looks really great I've done some of those myself and the results are miraculous God bless keep up the good work I love watching your videos for tips and ideas on my own projects
Awesome job for outside and in the wind. Nothing a little wet sanding won’t take care of. Nice work, great video.
At first I thought that you were being sloppy and making too many mistakes but for less than 200$ man you nailed it!! Subbed man
john kelly thanks I have more videos that save money appreciate the sub!
After seeing your video I think I'll paint my old 89 Nissan Hard Body its gray right now ,can't wait for it to look as good as your ride .Thanks for the video, Son. God Bless
dana sixty Thank you
Great for a beginner. I have a 2001 BMW 325i that I've made a test car for diy painting and I'm going to try this method. Thanks for your video.
Man, for $80 job that looks like a $800 paint job, pretty good man!
For those talking sheet. Why would you put a $4,000 paint job on a $2,000 car? This is a great way to make your car look a lot better on a small budget.
Always start at the roof and work down. less sanding later from overspray landing on what youve already painted.
They do make 2k paint in a rattle can. Usually 15-20 bux each.
True top to bottom. What my Father taught me. He had his own body did very well raising us and made a good name for him self out his garage so hey he can make extra $.
As a painter all imma say is that if you want to keep it all low budget this is great but there are many things you can do to make it bettee
I agree 100%.I'm gonna start doing the gun painting
I am just trying to give people options.
3. You painted a car
7. I've subscribed.... sub back!!!
Yacht Life for sure subbing back. Sub to my Texas Honda channel too!

Hell they want $3000 to wrap my van with plastic
You did a fantastic job for what you had to work with. A big thumbs up!
Be careful! 👨🌾
Gearjammer Yup I have a video coming out on the door jamb painting.
Why the hate? Did yall see the car before he repainted it? It looks way better. Personally I wouldn't paint my daily like this, but I got an old work truck this would be perfect for.
Aside from the runs its a high quality budget paint job.
Looks great
Whats your instagram?
Was your number
I was thinking about using Majic paint from Tractor Supply. I thought it might be better or more suitable for a vehicle than Rustoleum rattle cans. I've found Rustoleum to be rather "soft" in the past. The complaint I hear is that Rustoleum spray enamel paints fade rather quickly. But I see that you've countered that problem by using a hardener. I guess for vehicles like we have, we don't need an expensive urethane car paint. I like your video. It shows me exactly what to expect and do for when I start my paint job.
Man that paint is sooooo nice its very pretty and it matches the wheels very well good job
Keep it up
dirtyred246 thanks
Looks great.
This gives me confidence to get some equipment to spray my car. I have an old beater that I'm going to practice on first and then move to my daily
Ain’t no way you painted that car with that sprayer!, it looks professionaly done!
One of the best DIY outdoor paint jobs I've ever seen. Congrats.
This is great for my son's project Accord. It's his first car and the paint is done for. Was looking for a cheap option, because well it's his first car. Thanks...
Dude! Awesome. Gonna tray it on my Tercel. Was going to spray it with my $10 HF pneumatic gun, but this looks WAY easier. Many THANKS!
Haters will hate but.. you will have gained knowledge and experience
Hey man, that didn't turn out bad at all. I may go this route with my integra. With some wet sanding, and rubbing compound, you could get that pretty slick. I came looking for an inexpensive spray gun to paint guitars with. I'm glad I found this video.
Man u inspired me to do my own paintjob on my car Daihatsu Mira avanzato. I did it with an aerosol can and nobody believed me i did it. Thanks!
This video is every professional car painter's nightmare.
No disrespect, for 16$ its working and the video is good. Just funny.
I’m very impressed. It’s not like you’re going to destroy the value of the car or anything. For the cost it was well worth it. 👍
Looks awesome, well done
Mannnn! I appreciate YOU for this video! I am able to do my own paint job without the price of a collision shop. You're AWESOME!!!
Chris _Rrr thank you!
On bumpers and other creases that are hard to sand use adhesion promoter about 8 bucks a spray can will keep paint from lifting
HOLY SHEET! That is incredible!!!
Looks good bro
Wet sand smooth with 2000 or 1500 then cut and polish and she would be flawless
A man on a galloping horse would surely think it’s a brand new car.
The car looks awesome, and the color is just super cool. Indeed. Good job! blessings.
Oh hell yeah I'm gonna do this
legit, for a yard paint job looks really good. great job.
Thanks 🙏🏻
I've painted about 20 cars with this same electric sprayer to avoid the runs start at the top and work your way to the bottom
I found use harbor freight canopy great on sale for 50 dollar
Buy two of them and throw heavy duty plastic all over
It's portable paint booth
Try it it's great
King Tin What really!?! Ima have to look into that!
Considering the equipment, well done man.
Wet sand it to get your runs out and the do a compound, polish and wax this will come out amazing
the paint job is in the prep and the MIX,the mix is everything, but none of that matters if the car is dirty, finger oil will ruin your day, coating a vehicle has rules, putting many light coats will give you the results you want
You did that car a favor bro , nice work! 🔥
Kyle Thomas Thanks it’s looking better now that I wet sanded and added pearl 2k clear over it
An absolutely excellent job of documenting an at home, budget friendly, paint job on an entire vehicle. Thank you for your efforts, great job and the outcome looks great for what it is 👍🏽
I painted my 95 Chevy truck with majic, it's a very effective and cheap way to get the job done, it doesn't look the best but it holds up very well
Looks great brother, killer work... Pro tip spray the roof and hood and trunk first , it's less of a risk of rubbing it to fresh paint. No disrespect ... Just noticed that
Shawn Pipas I didn’t think about it but next time I’ll keep it in mind because you are correct.
You're right.
It's a "decent" job for DIY.
Now the Trolls come out, breathless-
You shoulda, woulda, coulda, and the
totally fake millionaires with garages full of
Hypercars- has it sent out, "Professionally" sprayed-
only to become another lien against the trust fund.
You own a decently shiny old Civic-
it's reliable AF, good on gas, won't attract scumbags
with keys or sirens.
Think about it. I think this came out great-
for what it is- considering all the factors involved.
HUBBABUBBA DOOPYDOOP Giving the conditions it wasn’t bad but never claimed it was flawless haha. It needs more work to be great but I’m working on that soon enough. Thanks for the comment!!
but if you look up close when he zooms you can really see the inperfections. i think you can fix wet sand
Everybody needs to chill, it actually looks pretty good if your not a d bag critic
Very straight to the point video and I liked you took all the bs we didn’t wanna see out of it during editing. Good video!
Next time start from the roof so you can lean over more and not worry about touching the paint on the doors, also do two coats and you'll be able to wet sand it way more
Dude thats an amazing job especially given the price of about $80.
aintnunbutapenut exactly.
I'm trying as well my car needs it mainly just wanna fix old rust spots and sun bleached spots
How are people saying bad job that looks great for a electric spray gun , good damn job bro , we’ll explain also great video
A friend did the same to a Beetle one winter, he didn't thoroughly mix the paint, he was sloshing the sprayer as he painted, it had an amazing orange fade effect, looked like he did it on purpose, started on the front like an orange cream cycle and went to a darker orange on the rear.
50\50 paint and reducer. Then hardener. I’ve painted a few trucks with kubota orange and the ford blue.
It depends on the paint company most are 50/50 but some are 4/1 like that one was.
Few things can be more satisfying than painting a car yourself, so rewarding! 😊
Good job I’m balling on a budget, so I’m trying to do a paint job on Honda I bought $500. So this video really help. Never fails to have the UA-cam judges commenting lol
Looks good. I might have to try the electric spray gun
I'm about to try the same thing but I'm going to do a two stage paint with clearcoat.
I am actually gonna add another coat of color after i wet sand more then add clear!
To get running paint off , just get duck tape and wrap it around your 4 fingers . Sticky side facing out and just dab the running paint and reapply paint if needed
Great job I’m in a middle of doing a Mercedes sprinter van let’s hope mine goes well appreciate your video
Looks good . I painted my car outside too but got lots bugs in the paint.
