Hi Cleveland just so you know I am a mobile dj and singer. And after I watched this specific video alone, I was I went to store and bought both denon prime go and Mackie go. Both are so cute and practicle and I'm excited at the possibilities of where to gig now and what I can now offer my regular clients! Thanks again for this video!
How's it going my Brother.. Nice info. I've been Deejaying gigs at parks, backyard bbqs and lakes. It's alittle expensive but I bought 1 pair of "Diamond Boxx" M3 boomboxes and 1 Sub 8.2. It's all battery operated and usually last about 6 hours pretty loud. Never had the volume past half way. And I'm using a Duracell power source 660. I use that to power my mixer and 2 turntables. I deejay with strickly Vinyl records.
Thanks for this video! I am actually prepping to do the same thing this weekend. For speakers I am also using a pair of Mackie Thump GO For wireless XLR, I am using the Sennheiser G4 bodypacks…1 transmitter and 2 receivers. Watched quite a few videos about the system and everyone seems to like them. These miight work better because they have tunable UHF frequencies to avoid interference, gain control to avoid that signal distortion and they have a range and signal strength that can pass through walls even. Almost got the Alto Stealth Pro but seemed pointless because they still need power. Had the Sennheiser setup for a small band past two weeks and sounded great. Using the Halo Bolt 58830 mWH portable battery pack for my ceremony rig and figured I could try it with my Rane One. I always forget to plug in my M1 MacBook and it lasts all night. Gotta pre-record my radio mixshow set in the studio this Friday so that will be a good preliminary test before taking it out this weekend. If that proves to be too much energy draw, I will use the Rev1 or SB3…both bus powered so probably won’t need the battery pack but it is small enough to leave in the booth. I will let you know my findings.
Great video!!! I love my Prime Go, for small events I rub that with a Minirig 2.1 system. Great for cocktails, outdoor parties etc. That set up is also great for live-streaming out and about, just add a camera/phone and you’re good to go.
To use the XSW D properly you need an inline attenuator as these don’t have mic / line level options. That’s why they distort when using them to transmit audio. They’re designed for dynamic mics not speaker outputs. I use an inline attenuator and they work great. That’s all you need to fix it. Same attenuator I used to use on my mc6000 mic inputs.
Which inline attenuator would you recommend. And what’s the range on this? If I’m streaming cocktail hour or ceremony music via Bluetooth, can my phone connect to these XLR units? And how far away can I be?
That is, you have to attenuate the mixer output from line to mic-level before plugging in the transmitter, receiver will also deliver mic-level. Is this correct? In what scenario/why did you use inline attenuator on your input?
great video... bar-mitsvas brings out memories...of my dj beginings... 3-4 hours on the denon seems like there is some room for improvement for a wireless controler baterie life...
Hey man wanted to let you know this review has been fantastic. You provided all the details I was looking for, didn't miss anything. Thanks a lot. I'm definitely buying the thump go. Thank you.
I have written Denon, and was told the Mic doesn't run through the Prime software, so it is impossible to add software tone or eq control to the mics... That is my only gripe as well. I switched all my mobile systems to Prime Go's, and zoom L8's to run mics lol (PS the zoom L8 will power off the Denon's USB port.
It would make me nervous setting up that close to a bunch of people splashing in a pool! Liking the on-site vlogs showcasing the variety of shows you do, thanks CT!
Hey Terry have you tried the XVIVE U3 wireless XLR units? They can switch between line and mic and heard they don't distort as much. I also have a pair of Mackie Thump GO's and totally agree the battery life is truly awesome on them. Did a party on the weekend and last 7 hours no problem
I’m looking into those U3’s but I’ve heard issues with WiFi, that people won’t be able to connect to their wifi signals or if your phone’s wifi is on it will interfere with your internet! 🤷🏻♂️ but I saw a review yesterday on these XVIVE U3’s and I do like that you can charge them while they are still playing audio! .. ugh the decisions because I do love Sennheiser but these U3’s are probably the one’s I will go with for quick connection. 🤔
I ditched the xvive because of the WiFi interference. I did find a much cheaper Lekato system that, so far, has presented itself as a solid solution. No interference, great reception distance and can be pushed.
Great Vid! I did a test recently at a bar where I ran the Denon Prime Go for 4 hours (Wi-Fi off) and I got the warning about 10 minutes before I stopped. I also used the Xvive U3 Dynamic wireless XLR system to the house PA snake and those were still fine after four hours. They don't seem to distort, but I also run my Denon a little low because I think it seems to distort a bit in general even at 0 DB.
I also use a pair of Xvive U3. The reason you can drive them harder then the Sennheisers wireless XLRs is because the Xvive U3s have a built in MIC / Line Level switch, the Sennheisers only work cleanly within the MIC level range, they weren't really designed for handling line out levels like the Xvive U3s are. Also the Xvive U3s have a wider frequency response (20-20khz), the Sennheisers are only 30-16khz because most corded vocal mics that they were meant to be used for don't extend out to 20khz, whereas line out sources from controllers / mixers put out the full audio spectrum (20-20khz)
I use those Sennheiser's - I use a db attenuator on my line out from the mixer connected to the transmitter. Then the Sennheiser receiver goes into mic-in on the wireless speaker. This way I don't have any distortion issues.
I use the regular Alto Stealth Wireless System it works well, but I did notice it takes a little bass out of my QSC tops, but I seem to be the only one who notices it LOL, but the Alto stealth system covers a big area
Thanks for the video 👍 - I recently started using Chauvet D-Fi XLR/DMX for lighting and they work great - zero issues. I'm still not confident on wireless XLR for music tho'.
I use a Hosa ATT-448 Input Attenuator, XLR3F to XLR3M with my Sennheiser dxlrs and it fixed the distortion....now its loud and clear....even on my JBL Eon Compact battery speaker.
I just came across this video my scan into my subscriptions and I just built a totally completely wireless set up also like two weeks ago except for the wireless XLR I used 2 Xvive XLR sets and now I can use my set up for events on the beach or in the park where there is no power!!!
@@ClevelandTerry After trying different XLR setups the only ones that I was really truly happy with were the Xvive setups and they can handle the push without the distortion.
Just ordered a prime go. Still deciding between a pair of Mackies or S1's. About the wireless, might be worth using the booth output with the sennheiser instrument 1/4 inch wireless version instead? Great video!
I’m curious about that Sennheiser model also. Instrument level is in between mic and line level. Guitar closer to mic-level than line-level? Keyboard closer to line-level than mic-level, or is it same as line level?
Yooooo! Terry! I got a solution for your Sennheiser problem. Those devices are designed to make a microphone wireless, which means they accept a mic-level input, so it's easy to peak the signal when you plug them into a line-level device like the output on the back of the Prime Go. Try swapping them out for the Xvive U3. They have a mic/line switch, and I think you'll find that the line switch makes all the difference when it comes to going fully wireless with your speakers. Justin @ DJs Guru swears by them, and I'm about to pick myself up a set so I can cut my cables even more than I already have. Great video as always man! HMU anytime and let's collab!
Hi Terry, i bought a laptop battery bank that supports 20v output to extend my Prime Go’s usage. I’ve tested it at 8.5 hours total with it. I pair it with the Bose S1 Pro and a couple of generic 1/4 inch instrument wireless adapters. The wireless adapters offer great latency but also seem to distort a bit at high volume and i notice that they seem to roll off some of the low end. The Skaa seem far better suited for this but are also way more expensive. Still looking for a better wireless audio adapter that is not too expensive.
Hey Terry. Have you tried the Alto Pro Stealth wireless audio. I’m pretty happy with it, I do only use them for zoning out extra speakers at a large or weirdly shaped venue. The issue with them is you need to plug them into power. I am also interested in trying the Skaa professional wireless gear that they came out with (the Danny and the Streetheart transmitters and receivers). The Skaa runs on an internal battery.
As i said before those XSW and rode wireless go are ONLY MIC LEVEL, anyone who wants xlr wireless may need to look things like ALto Stealth or Stealth Pro, those ones have line level, Dj Rachel make a review on the pro Version, here in europe i can't find the pro versiojn and the normal one is discontinued You're right, i have the same model, and i tried like you with my prime go, when i noticed the distortion i test one out with senheisser and the other with cable, confirming that sennheisser ads that distortion, as far as i know this sennheisser's are MIC wireless and not line level, and i think because of that we are trying to outputting pro line level from a prime go and insert at the other side pro line in level in the spaker, but these transmitters i think that works ONLY with mic line levels and for that reason it distors when we push up. The exact same thing happens when i tried the rode wireless mic go I or II, they are usable for low levels of output input, but if you push it, it distorts like senheisser
Something else to know about wireless XLR is It's usually clearly indicated whether or not they can be used for mic AND Line purposes...or If it's ONLY for mic use .... I mentioned that because if it's only rated to be used with mics, then your mentioning that it's not good, isn't necessarily a true assessment... Because if it's not set to a line setting (If it has one) And you're not using the product and the way that it was created .... Thus you'll get subpar sound. Because if it's set To microphone input, the DB is higher by default to better capture voices... And running playing music off of that will cause clipping distortion and poor signal... Alternatively, running music on the line setting should produce a quality sound level for music... But if you use the microphone to that input, the volume will be lower. So the biggest thing we just need clarification on is whether or not those sennheisers have a designation to choose between line or mic audio. Thx!
I work wireless all of the time 4 Mackie thump gos, 4 channel yamaha mixer with a 12v powerpak and a shure wireless with a 12 v powerpak , MacBook Pro system will run for at least 6 to 7 hrs plant oy time
Hi Cleveland Terry have you tried or would it be possible to add a vocal harmonist like TC-Helicon Harmony Singer or BOSS VE-2 Vocal Harmonist. To add effects and eq to your mic?
I think those Senheiser units are designed for use at microphone level to turn a wired mic into wireless rather than hot line level but I haven't read the specs and could be wrong
Question: with this setup, are you placing the 2nd Thump Go on the floor for more bass response? Are those the 8" versions? Is there a battery-powered subwoofer option that would easily match a pair of Thump Go 8s? I asl bc I currently have the exact setup as a backup system/small party system.
For rechargeable battery powered speaker I use Samson expedition xp310w. I do like the speaker and in a pinch I don’t need to connect a mic to it. My only thing is the mixer controls are on the top of speaker so if you have it on a speaker stand it’s hard to control your volume etc. I’ve been interested in buying a pair of the Mackie Thump Go.
Totally agree with your thoughts on battery life. I can confirm that almost 4 hours for the Prime Go is pretty accurate. In the first year that we did parties in the park, it consistently lasted just under 4 hours before we had to plug into a battery to top it off for the last hour. The past year have been using it for silent discos that are 2.5 hours and it consistently runs without flashing the battery low light. This past weekend, we ran the Thump Gos for an off-grid beach renegade (without a generator), pushing it as loud as we could before clipping and they ran for a solid 6 hours, though one of them started flashing the battery lights toward the end. We were running an RX2 off of a battery, so we had that as backup power for the speakers just in case, because we hadn’t played these out yet. If you’re going for that long a day, it would help to have a battery to top them off, but for a shorter event, I would have no worries about not having backup power at all. Was totally impressed by these. If Mackie or Bose were to somehow figure out a decent battery-powered sub, these off-grid events would be so much easier.
@@bboymac84 Thanks for that heads up! I just watched Flossy Carter’s review of that Diamondboxx sub. Looks good. But that thing has 2 1/8” inputs and I can’t tell for sure because labeling is odd, but it has 1 HP output or 1 Full output, and no XLR? That’s weird and pretty limiting. Seems like it would be good if you’re using their gear though. Maybe I’m missing something. Doesn’t seem ideal for DJ use?
@@jibbajabbaguy never know until you try it. XLR is used if your running your wires a great distance to protect against incoming frequencies. not much to do with fidelity.

Always enjoy your reviews. How many songs do you typically have on your main drive when using the Denon Go? Do you have a suggest on the largest drive to use with the Prime Go?
They make 19v battery packs. I put a maxoak one in my pro x case and I can get like 14 hours now out of the denon prime go. It's overkill but a peace of mind. I just got a pair of the new jbl eon one mk2 I have not done a test yet on how long they last.
I need a wireless setup to do sound for a ceremony using Bluetooth off of my phone playing Spotify tracks. Can you recommend anything for this application? I know this video is old but have there been any new products to come out since then?
Yeah, I'm like you 3 hours max and have a plug in my sights if I need it. I always carry extension cords just in case, but the system does what I want it to do even with the limitation of the mic.
Hey CT, great video. What camera were you using to film the walk around portion of your video? Looked super clean and I need that camera. Was it your new Sony? Thanks
Hey, how are you Terry. I have a question. Have you ever tried the battery powered line arrays by rockville audio? I have a pair, they are Bluetooth and they run around 4 to 6 hours at medium range. They have a not so bad sub and believe me I was very impressed for the price. Only issues with them is their shipping department.
I bought the Sennheiser XSW XLR as I wanted to remotely run fill or satellite speakers at events… Only used it twice and was having the same problem. Will run music at low volume but if you jump on the mic at the same time sounds hideous, crackles and pops like the speaker is blown. I was going to return as I thought it is a faulty unit. Turns out it’s just useless for this application 😢
The prime go is a master piece, absolutely love it. I use a Sony UWPD wireless pack to make it fully wireless. I’m looking to get another UWPD but I need to look into how to do two wireless systems because sometimes the frequencies can interfere. I only wish the prime go had a removable battery to have a back up just in case.
I have the Denon prime go, and two Bose S1 pros. I also use an iPad Pro 1 TB cellular and a numark mix track platinum FX. No laptop! If interested, drop me a line. WirelessDJ
Cleveland question about yhe Mackie Thump Go… do you always use the whole battery before you charge again!!! Is there a risk like the cellphone that “the batteries” go bad cause you always charging!!! Damn long ass question
I have used my mackie thump go's and I have been using them and charging them and have had no issues. After each use i just plug them up until the charging light stops blinking and put them back in the speaker bags i bought for them. The batteries can be replaced if they become an issue.
Hey DJ, The "Full Drain" problem you're referring to is from when Cell Phones used to use Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) batteries back in the 90s and early 2Ks. Most modern devices use either Lithium Ion (Li) or Lithium-Polymer (Li-Po) batteries, which don't have those same problems. As long as you're using a device with a modern Lithium battery, you should be OK to charge/discharge at your convenience without having to worry if you're draining the full battery or not. Hope this helps!

Thx!

Random question: which scrim are you using for the keyboard stand? I have the one with the tabletop and a regular scrim did not fit (not wide enough).
Any chance you have a link for the mount/stand you have the go prime on? 7:20
Would you use the Go's for side fills with EV 12's for larger events of 250 - 300 guests?
I think those Senheiser units are designed for use at microphone level to turn a wired mic into wireless rather than hot line level but I haven't read the specs and could be wrong
Question: with this setup, are you placing the 2nd Thump Go on the floor for more bass response? Are those the 8" versions? Is there a battery-powered subwoofer option that would easily match a pair of Thump Go 8s? I asl bc I currently have the exact setup as a backup system/small party system.
All thump go,s are 8 inch as far as I know .
Soundboks 3 (many as you want) use SKAA mode + Dani SKAA transmitter.
When you did this gig did you use a hotspot or did you use the Wi-Fi of the client?
@Cleveland Terry.. how far can you turn up the volume before one clip
great content man. keep up 🙏🙏
Mobile gigs are a challenge and a half, no matter what!!!
They make portable subs but it’s from a different company. Def worth it. It’s by diamondbox and it booms!! For 399
@@bboymac84 Thanks for that heads up!
@@bboymac84 More to do with having 1 HP out and 1 Full for the the application I’m talking about that started this-out to the Thump Gos which have only Combo XLR/TRS input,.
Wow was literally just looking at senheisser wireless xlr. I’ve checked out a few videos
I purchased 2 Mackie Thump GO speakers, which were imposing; the green light stayed green for 4 hrs and didn't need a charge; I will invest in the Denon Prime Go unless there is a longer-lasting alternative over the DENON?
Maybe you should wait a couple of weeks.
Can you provide a link for the table/stand & skirt you are using? I am looking to get something similar. Thanks.
He has one in his Video library...
Bet!

Never mind. Just found your video on FastSet. Thanks.
Thump Go vs Soundboks? If they're in the same category level.
400vs 800? Sane level?
2 jbl 310 if jou wane bass more 😂
Have you tried wireless guitar 1/4's?
You have to go with the booth out.
It works, plus they're cheaper...
I did it with my Bose L1's and sounds great (using the Prime Go)
I’ll take a look. Thanks.
Also.... The soccer field gig was with column arrays...not line arrays
i busk here in my city tijuana, i use wego 4 and one thump go, i so fuken want this setup, 2 thump and the denon prime go!!!
Always enjoy your reviews. How many songs do you typically have on your main drive when using the Denon Go? Do you have a suggest on the largest drive to use with the Prime Go?
Can you link us to the table you're using here?
They make 19v battery packs. I put a maxoak one in my pro x case and I can get like 14 hours now out of the denon prime go. It's overkill but a peace of mind. I just got a pair of the new jbl eon one mk2 I have not done a test yet on how long they last.
Can u put the link I’m thinking of the same thing
Wireless is definitely gonna be the future. It's helped out at some gigs! I rock the Thump GO & Prime GO... I use a wired mic tho lol
I need a wireless setup to do sound for a ceremony using Bluetooth off of my phone playing Spotify tracks. Can you recommend anything for this application? I know this video is old but have there been any new products to come out since then?
This speaker will do that
Yeah, I'm like you 3 hours max and have a plug in my sights if I need it. I always carry extension cords just in case, but the system does what I want it to do even with the limitation of the mic.
Hi! Great video! Whats the table you use? Thanks!
Hey CT, great video. What camera were you using to film the walk around portion of your video? Looked super clean and I need that camera. Was it your new Sony? Thanks
Ha. Actually that’s just the iPhone 13 pro. But my Sony does look amazing but I’m not mad at both the mic and the lens
@@ClevelandTerry oh cool, glad I just picked an iPhone pro up for my business then. Thanks!
can you make a video about getting an older used top of the line mixer like an s9 if your coming up from the djm250 or numark scratch ect
Speaking of the GO, did you updated to the new software? Was it painful?
I haven't because I'll need to build my playlist again (from scratch)
It was a piece of cake.
Have you tried the soundboks speakers with the skaa system?
Give Thx 4 dis Rasta I have the same setup so dis is golden Can u do a vid someday on other wireless recievers or external power sources Bless up
I looked on Sennheisers site and it seems the wireless XLR is geared towards microphone use. Is there another system for music audio?
Can you plug one speaker xlr cable and the second speaker 15 ft away wireless Bluetooth from the plug in speaker ?
No, it only applies to the bluetooth portion. Analog audio will not transfer
What is your take on the Everse 8 vs Mackie Thump Go
Dang you put the Thump GO in my Sweetwater CART!!!
love your energy and your DJ table Terry 🤣what is it?
nice positioning of the denon prime go! these mackie speaks beat the Bose S1, but the new Yorkville EXM 12 sound boss!
What kind of table are you using?
What kind of stand did you use to prop up the dj controller?
do you think Denon will do a upgrade on the engine to operate on Bluetooth?
Probably not.
What table is that?
he just did a video about it very recently
I appreciate what you were trying to do but obviously it's best to at least have that one wire (for now)
How big of a party can you do with a pair with these
Great video!
Loving the cap✅✅👌👌👌
Great Video🙌
Sorry to trouble you what's the stand you are using for your prime go
It’s apart of my fastset table. It only works with fastset tables.
I have the Denon prime go, and two Bose S1 pros. I also use an iPad Pro 1 TB cellular and a numark mix track platinum FX. No laptop! If interested, drop me a line. WirelessDJ
Interested in what exactly ?
Get a few eco portable battery cells for the prime go and you good. 👍🏿
do use one xlr in or out to line one or line one and 2? I want to use it as monitor both out..
There’s a dedicated booth out.
If you had the Streetheart SKAA you can truly go wireless actually! That’s what the real pro’s use!
Yeah I saw those.. but damn they pricey! LOL but if I had the liquidity I would go with these ASAP!
@@mydudethedj 250 each definitely well worth it. You save time and save on wires. It’s perfect!!
man that was the best investment i did. im so surprised none of these big dj promoting it. oh well better for me
@@donaldccannon1 I know! We’ll keep it a secret for ourselves lol. Let them use wires like cavemen lol
I use a ddi-1000, 2 jbl eon 615's. 2021 mackbook pro. All off an Ecoflow Delta Max. I can run that at max volume for 5&1/2 hours.
Hi.. do you like that ecoflow. How many watts are you utilizing from unit? Thank you.
You did not list a sub which is what I said.
@@ClevelandTerry ???
Great vid
They haven’t made a perfect battery yet ,,, thx for ur real world review
