Last fall for 4 weeks I ate vegetables and had rice on Sundays only. I had stopped taking levothyroxine 6 months earlier. No other carbs. No oil. No gluten. No dairy. My TPO went from 92 to 9 after these 4 weeks. My TSH lowered from 44 to 32. I eventually (8 months later) had to return to levo ( my resting heart rate fell into 30's...my normal is about 52) My gland too damaged after having hashimotos for 17 years. With diet you can put hashimotos in remission but your TSH may not go back to normal. If I had changed my diet when my first TSH lab was 6 in 2006 (subclinical) I could have managed to never take levo. My doctor never tested for TPO then. Btw... I have no symptoms of Hashimotos or high TSH ( besides the low heart rate that one time). levothyroxine made no difference in how felt physically. I'm healthy and active...age 73 female.
I was also diagnosed with hypothyroidism my doctor told me I have to be in medication rest of my life but I managed to turn it around partly because of Dr. Gupta. Doctor yourself is a true legend. I still have organic curd once in a while but no gluten,. Also much more vegetables and fruits. Also very rarely eats red meat compared to everyday in the past. Made lot of lifestyle changes.
I'm in jamaica and this message totally gave me some hope 😢 I just felt like I can't do it anymore because I couldn't understand what was happening to me and know body seem to understand either so thank you for this
Thank you so much for your story,i have everything that you are talking about, and also my spine is bad it has been so horrible arothritis so badly it has drawn me over and in some of my fingers are kind of cŕipple i now have been sent to a dr.that is a.specialist.i hope it works out.i would like to have dr.gupti i know he knows what hes doing.i watch him all the time he is so smart in this atea.and God bless you all!!!😊
This story got tears in my eyes my hashimotos makes me feel so sick im so happy There's hope i just ordered your book and im ready to live healthy and beat my hashimotos thank you dr Anshul Gupta ⭐️🙏
Can you tell me how long it took you to go into remission after changing your diet to exclude Gluten, sugars, caffeine, soy and dairy? I started four months ago and I am already feeling 100%!!! 👏👏👏 I have suffered each and one of your symptoms and felt desperate because doctors were not able to give more information other than “you have Hashimoto based on your labs” I fell into despair until I started doing my own research and Dr. Childs has been very informative and had Dr. Gupta as a guest who has been wonderful in solidifying all that I have gone through with this sickness and giving good information on how to solve it and feel better. I finally feel normal. The numbing of legs happened to me and it scared me - I couldn’t walk - I was at a store with y sister and she had to get the car to take me home. What a difference it is to change your diet to support your Hashimoto Disease. Instant gratification. Can you tell me if you are taking medication as well? I am not currently taking anything but already feeling better just by changing my diet.
Cayla, what were the levels of your TPO Ab when you got diagnosed with Hashimoto's, and what are the levels after life style changes? Me too I got Dr Gupta's book and listened to his lectures. I appreciate his explanation of the root causes of Hashimoto's. I have cut gluten, dairy, and feel better already.
I was recently diagnosed with Hashimotos disease and I always knew I had heavy periods, i use the overnight pads for daily wear and change 3 x within 8 hours. I struggled with fatigue since I was a teenager , never felt rested after waking up and can only function while on stimulants. I told my doctor before my blood test that I’ve been self medicating with mood enhancers and yeah, now it all makes sense. Now that I know what’s wrong I’m committed to eating to nourish my body, taking the right supplements in hopes of always reversing my illness.
I have started buying raw milk and making fermented tomatoes and cucumbers. That is helping me feel better, I think. Fermented foods provide a bunch of probiotics and good for detox and probably other things. Anyway, I have tried about everything and my thyroid has been crazy for years. This seems to be helping with the way I feel. I'll have to wait and see at my next lab check and see if it's actually helping
Hello Dr. Gupta. The only thing that i observed is you re recommending spirulina to a patients with hashimoto's thyroiditis. Spirulina is high in iodine. Too much of iodine is really bad for your thyroid. However this supplement maybe given if the reversal for autoimmune condition is 100 percent meaning you have undetectectable anti TPO and anti Tg.
Im 24 and Take 112 mg, my Memory is so shit and I’m always tired and heavy. I started taking Probiotics, Kurkuma, Green Tea Extract, Yam Extract and monks Pepper for Endometriosis pain (though I don’t didn’t get it diagnosed yet). We’ll see what happens. If you have any Tipps please tell me!!
That’s a good question. I would like to know too. By changing her diet and taking supplements, it sounds like the antibodies are no longer creating havoc. I wish we knew more.
This is Aparna from U.P I m suffering from hashimoto thyroid disorder and had undergone surgery on 8th Jan 2023 of left thyroid lobe. I had medication of Eltroxin25 mcg. Now my TSH is normal what should I do sir???
Im also diagnose with hyperthyroidism i really dont want take methimazole because i heard of the side effects in the body.i really need your help dr. Gupta.
She did a stool tests which identified several pathogenic bacteria, so she treated her dysbosis and healed her gut and microbiome….is what I heard her point out. I know levels of bad bacteria can cause leaky gut, that then activate the immune system which can produce antibodies…. So she healed her gut!
Because your blood has anti bodies like anti TPO and anti Tg. If these 2 anti bodies are undetectable alredy all thyroid funtion test will become normal
I have the same situation, No milk, no gluten, no soy, no meat. I do exercises, I take supplements such as selenium, D,, C, b12, omega 3 magnesium, but my TPO antibodies never moves lower than 200 😕
Sujatha, that’s such a stupid request. We are all humans are the foreign blood is not different from yours, lol. Avoiding gluten , diary and caffeine is what this particular patient did.. isn’t that possible with Indian cuisine too? Or you cannot do without naan, puri. Bread or samosas? There are some basic “rules” to follow and you adapt that to whatever you eat.. be it Indian, Italian or Chinese. 🙄
@@sujathasujatha6430 see i have indian background but I am Australian. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2021 July with tsh being 85 and had antibody count of 1500. My TSH in 2019 was 2.5. @@sujathasujatha6430 you should simply follow what the doctor says. He doesn’t give you recipes but tells you what to avoid. If he says avoid gluten, in italy we won’t eat wheat pasta. No fried food.. no refines oils, like sunflower etc.. but coconut oil, olive oil or ghee. Watch his videos and you can see what you should principally avoid. Then you might need supplements like D, K2.. etc. And most important intermittent fasting. That helped me tremendously. Dr. Gupta might be onto something with the thyroiditis approach, but come on - this interview seemed super fake.
