    I believe it’s criminal that Drs are not doing more for people with thyroid problems. Ignorance is not excepted in other professions so why are we excepting ignorance in Drs? I have had thyroid problems for a long time and I blame Drs for this. Instead of giving me antidepressants instead of fixing my gut or check me for toxins.
    I appreciate Drs like Dr Gupta. He is what more Drs should try to be like.

      Omgosh so true!! I went last year and was told that my levels were within normal levels. I went back and they were just outside of normal and was told they were barely outside normal. I insisted on more so they did an ultrasound, found 3 nodules one of them large, then was told to recheck in a year. Wtf?! I'm still having symtopms! So now they are sending me to an ear, nose and throat specialists, but said they likely won't treat my low thyroid. 🤦🏼‍♀️

    😂 Yesterday my primary care doctor told me that I have Hypothyroid and there is nothing I can do other than take medicine even though my T4 levels are totally normal. I asked if I could change my diet and she said: Nope! She didn’t even asked if I feel any problem like fatigue or tiredness. I have no problem. But she said “You need to take medicine” so she could earn more money through me as a new patient. 😂 We are living in a wild world and we need to be really more conscious about our own health! As a side note on oral health. I got a water pic more than 5 years ago and it has been a godsend for my oral health. I use the appliance brush with 4 sprouts of bristles recommended for kids with braces instead of a toothbrush. Since doing that my gum health has improved tremendously and my dentist is amazed. I used to get too much wear and tare at the gum line with brushing and the water treatment removes the tartar and resolves the issue of teeth to tight to floss. I only floss if some seed is stuck. The hygienist has much less work than before. I have several caps but all 32 of my permanent teeth at the age of 73. I do not tell my dentist about my routine. Also with trying to loose weight with hashimoto’s and now osteoporosis increasing my protein, reducing my carbs especially grains and sugar along with intermittent fasting has helped me loose 20 lbs. it is a journey and you have to figure out what works for your body and what you can stick too long enough and consistently enough to gain some results.

    It is sad that most insurance do not cover functional medicine, especially when that is where we need to be as a Hashimoto's patient! My traditional endocrinologist won't refer me to Cleveland Clinic Function medicine (although his treatment is not working) and you cannot even get on a wait list anymore to get in. Some things are so backwards in the world! As a person with Hashimoto's, we are cursed with a life of just "dealing" with it. :(

    That new shingles shot triggered my issues. I had zero problems before getting that. Within the months after series one I was having joint pain, sunburn rashes, and just felt unwell. I didn’t put this together with the immunization so went and got series two. I had extremely painful rashes which sent me to a specialist (dermatologist) who said my skin was falling off! She diagnosed me with high thyroid and autoimmune. Sorry to say but I’ll warn anyone who will listen to not be a lab mouse as I inadvertently became. The people selling these shots don’t care about you - they care about the 50 bucks they will get for promoting it. Some immunizations have been around a long time but anything that hasn’t is a risk.

      Anything causing a immune reaction can be a trigger, that means all so called immunizations can do it, does not matter how “old” they are. By definition they activate the immune system, that IS their purpose. No one cannot control how our bodies “read” that immune activation. So this is always a risk with these, just like exposures to infections, to heavy metals or to mold could do the same thing. They are triggers.

    • @les9058
      @les9058 2 місяці тому

      Sounds like your thyroid Not the shots was to the culprit.. Never heard of this reaction, the shots are promoted to fend off painful shingles for most... SORRY it gave you a tough one to deal with.... Did your Dr not know about your thyroid issues, ask about ALL that to determine if you should be immunized or not... That's the miss'n piece 🧩 I'd Def put that experience online as a causionary for people with the Same issue, so they Can talk to their Drs in dept, be Sure it's Safe for them!
      I Hope you are much recovered and your thyroid is heal'n, well monitored so you have far less concerns, suceotibility as a result! 🙏🏼

    Great interview. I hope more medical professionals start catching on to how to treat thyroid issues effectively because it's long overdue. I always direct people to this channel for thyroid help because let's face it, most medical professionals are in the dark with thyroid issues, especially in the uk. I took myself off thyroxine gradually against medical advice by taking spirulina daily, cleaning up my diet and lowering stress. It's still sluggish and slips back to about tsh 2.3 sometimes when stressed and over eating, but for the most part it's usually around 2 nowadays. I was at tsh 1.4 when I felt good so I'm trying again and now taking liposomal NMN with other supplements and losing weight to lower inflammation. My bloods showed high crp and prolactin but my doctor won't do t3 testing and said it's not available on nhs so it's all guesswork atm as they think 2.3 is healthy due to the guidelines 🤦. Ashwaganda did wonders for my stress levels too. I definitely agree that the thyroid can be healed. I know low carb isn't for everyone but it helped me to drop some weight and I noticed my hair started to thicken up too. I was growing that fuzzy baby type hair between normal hair strand and feeling bumps around my hairline where the follicles were emerging, so I think for me the cause has been stress and weight gain prior to the thyroid issue. I also got rid of gluten strictly and did a bit of intermittent fasting which improved my blood tests results massively. I'm aiming for 1.9 as my new target and I'll go from there. Onwards and upwards!

    I have been taking LDN for my Hashimotos 4 mg It’s really was helping my Hashimoto go in to remission, but then, since I have different converting T4 to T3 I have not be able to find my sweet spot. I was on 75 mg levo, and all of the sudden it was 75 was too much and it brought my TSH to 0.24 I had this crazy desire to eat sweets because my TSH was so low, eating the sweets caused my Hashimoto flare up. Sweets is inflammation? I now get blood work every two weeks and taking 50 mg of Synthroid and 10 mg of Liothyronine. I now know my TSH can’t go below one. I was so hyperthyroid that the hair on the top of my head just broke off! Very distressing, my hair is still not growing and I still feel the Hashimoto flare as all my joints hurt.

      I had been praying and asking God to show me what caused 4 and a half years of severe fibromyalgia. Then through a series of circumstances He led me to buy and read the book called Mercury Free from the local dentist here in Orlando Florida who wrote the book. In it he talked about how in dental school he discovered that amalgum "silver" fillings are really 50 to 70 percent mercury and had to keep quiet in order to get his lisence. He also talked the diseases mercury causes and success stories of patients getting better after he removed the mercury. Since he was local I went to him to get them changed out for white composite resin. He took precautions that need to be taken while removing the mercury. He was in the listed yellow pages and his book as well. You can look for a holistic dentist. Any dentist will change them out but you need to ask them what precautions they take while removing the mercury. I very highly recommend you getting it changed out for sure. Also do not use those light bulbs in the shape of curly. They have mercury in them. When any mercury gets spilled in an office etc even clean up companies refuse to come and clean it up and I don't blame them. Mercury is that bad. Always use incandescent regular light bulbs. I hope this helps you. Don't give up. Just keep calling dentists asking them about their precautions. You only have one tooth you said that has mercury so they can do it on one visit. Mine were done in 4 different quadrants. I don't think you will have a problem finding a dentist to do it plus you need to let them know the white composite resin you want needs to be BPA free. If they are holistic they will know that but it can't hurt to ask

    My thyroid stopped working in 1983 . I knew it was low thyroid because my identical twin sister was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. It was not until 2005 that a doctor would listen to me. He did an anti-thyroid and I was at 900. He freaked out. I told him I was living with it for all those years so relax. He put me on different thyroid medication’s, which I turned out to be anaphylactic to. The only thing that’s worked for me as Armour Thyroid 90mg five days a week. i’d like to find out how to find a functional medicine doctor because the information in my body is tremendous. I also have Ehler Danlos three, which is causing me to have 22 surgeries. I have Cellier overgrowth that causes adhesions, and they have strangled my gallbladder, affected my uterus, causing me to have a radical hysterectomy, and I’ve had surgeries to remove the adhesions around my bowel. I try everything, but the doctors just kind of don’t do anything for me. Now I struggle with type two diabetes, and I have added berberine to my regiment in the last three weeks. I have to take gabapentin for fibromyalgia and I’m going to admit that the depression is pretty bad and I can’t take medication for it. I don’t want to take medication for it. Thank you for reading this.

    I have histamine intolerance and nightshades definitely trigger my hashimoto's and triggers inflammation. I feel awful if I have tomatoes. I can tolerate small amounts of cooked tomatoes but no white potatoes, no eggplant, no peppers. I think it's highly individual and patients have to work with their doctor to do some trial and error to see what calms the inflammation for them. I saw continued improvement by working on each the things Dr Gupta talked about....toxins, food sensitivities, infections etc.
    I started out with AIP and it was so helpful. The most restrictive phase is only meant for the first 30 days. I can eat everything except gluten, dairy, and nightshades but I can tolerate nuts and seeds just fine. I can also have legumes I just can't go overboard on them.
