It's already been said, but I'll say it again: THANK YOU FOR THIS. Every other mechanic channel should do this on any engine they specialize in. Would love to see something like this for 90s JDM cars. SR20, 1JZ, etc .
This is one of the most informative , useful and well made videos . You guys are knowledgeable and detailed with the description of each component. This is how a video should be . Props to you guys and keep doin ya thing!
This video just saved me 150 plus dollars at the dealer! Found out in the first 2 mins where my IAT Sensor was and found out its super easy to swap out with simple tools probably found in your home. :D
This awesome. Thank you. A buddy of mine can turn wrenches but he's not very knowledgeable on diagnostics. I am knowledgeable on diagnostics. I haven't had a chance to work on these motors a lot, but thank you.... very informative view of everything and now i can be the eyes and he can be the hands. He lives hundreds of miles away.
Great presentation guys.. I have a 1.8 tsi and I was looking for something like this. Thanks. Great job to both Paul and Charles! All the best to you gentlemen!
The sensor is on the lower right hand side of the engine near the bell housing. This link shows the method to remove intake hoses to get at the crankshaft sensor: www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65011 This is a link for one of the images posted there: www.golfmk6.com/forums/attachment.php?s=b271ccb4e3d419fa30214d88eb6203b2&attachmentid=35548&d=1377696977 Second image: www.golfmk6.com/forums/attachment.php?s=b271ccb4e3d419fa30214d88eb6203b2&attachmentid=35549&d=1377696977
Apologies if I just missed it in the video but where is the MAP sensor located? I have a 2012 Mk6 GTI that is throwing the "Lean at idle" code and is also having boost control issues. From the little research I have done the MAP sensor is a common component in both problems. Thanks!
Great information! Long time listener/customer, first time commenter. You mentioned the Aux water pump and referred to it as the After-run pump? Does this component commonly leak? I am guessing that it only circulates coolant after the engine is shut off for a given time period or temp. If my main water pump is leaking, would it drip down onto the Aux pump and give the false impression that the Aux was the problem? Thanks much!
2:11 My 2009 115TSI Tiguan doesnt not have the electrical connector for the front/upstream O2 sensor. And looking at where the actual O2 sensor is installed, I dont see any O2 sensor either. Is it possible that my Tiguan came from the factory with it?
Thank you for the helpful parts locater. Now I'll try to be helpful in my own capacity: A part that is prone to failure is a "problem" part VS a part that "has issues." An "issue" is something debatable, whereas a problem is something troublesome. Common misusage: "I've have health issues; my liver is failing." If one's liver is failing, it is very much a "health problem," not a "health issue." An issue would be which is the best hospital at which to have a liver transplant performed, while a "problem" could be whether of not one's insurance will cover the surgery! A failure-prone part, such as fuel pump failure on an E888 series VAG engine is not an "issue; it's a mechanical "problem." An issue might be whether or not its replacement is warranted. Thanks again for your helpful video!
Great video. I have a 2013 VW CC Sport with a 2.0 tsi engine. I'm trying to find the location of the back up/reverse light switch. If I remove the battery will I be able to see it?
Very interesting, if possible could you do a similar video covering the VW 2009 2.0l TDI common rail MK 5 Jetta that has a CBD0 code engine, info about this particular engine is a mystery.
How hard to change the knock sensor on this? It’s one bolt and one plug? It looks like the green plug is easy-ish to unplug and plug in the new one. Is the bolt end easy-ish to get at also, or more involved?
This is clearly a great video overall, though for a beginner like me I was disappointed you skipped more of the intake components. It might seem super basic, but I've been struggling to find concrete part names/labels for some of the large intake-related pieces and was hoping this would help. Looks like the search continues!
Great video I have the passat FSI 2.0, I have an over heating problem , I've replaced thermostat , coolant temp sensor , tested the fan with a battery , the turn but dont work when the car is running and I get into stop and go traffic , car overheats. what can be the issue , the fan control module is built into the primary fan , can that prevent the fans from working properly even though with direct battery power the run? Can It be the Fan relay, WHERE is it located? Please help
@4:00 I have a question about this. I have a gasket there that's sucked inward a little so it's not a full seal. And whenever gas is applied. It tends to leak a little. Is there a replacement for that gasket itself?
Hi Guys, Great video. I was hoping you might mention the "plastic cover" on the front of the engine underneath the intake manifold. I have a coolant leak coming from this area and was wondering what its purpose is and can it be removed and repaired/sealed by competant home mechanic?
Is there a video or article about fails things to Reset after a VW Car is in a car accident front and/or rear crashes, related to fuel cut off switch or relays. Pls help
Hi Humble Mechanic, do you by any chance have a video on how to replace the cam shafts adjuster on 2009 volkswagen Tigua that locate at the passenger side because I noticed I have an oil leaked that trace from that area only after a few week investigated it. Also need your advice should I change the whole cap part as the whole black cover thing or just replace the seal or gasket if it is even had one. I would like to thank you and I appreciate anything from you guys and you guys is D best.
Whats the connector called where the upper heater hoses connect into heater core? Specifically the coolant line that is connecting right above upper heater hose
2010 VW CC the VVT Solenoid, is that the part you mention under the timing valve cover that has oil problems? I am unable to located it. So I am to the point to remove that cover and look. I was wondering if this would be were it is P0011 Camshaft position. Thanks
Hi there first time viewer...this was an amazing video and one i was hoping for someone to do for ages! Even more impressive was the list of components with exact time mentioned smashing, i came looking for crankshaft position sensor as i have a no start on my vw touran 2007 tsi, not sure if it's the 1.4 engine but probably has the same location i don't see that mentioned did i miss it? Dreading its not like the 2.0 tdi golf which needs oil filter housing removed and still a nightmare to get to.
So my 2.0 has a filter cup at the bottom, which leads me to believe I need to drop the bottom portion of the cup. The only way I see to access the top would be by removing radiator hoses and losing all my coolant. Thoughts?
What's the air intake looking thing just forward of the battery? It's broken on mine and won't snap back together. It's like you guys purposely skipped it on your review just to frustrate me! "Here's the battery, here's where all the fuse boxes are, and - oh, I forgot the magnet on the VVT sensor, and now that we're back over there, let's talk about cam sensors etc." Kidding, but I felt like I was so close. Appreciate any tip.
I bought a 2010 VW Eos 2.0l TSI, CPFA. The seller told me it will need a new engine because it make noise. A mechanic looked at it, did not open up the engine, but suspect it may have some grinding inside. The goal was to do a head job, and timing, and may be replace the piston. 1) Would recommend rebuilding the top part of the engine, because there is nothing inside the crankshaft that shows defect or damages. Or you will suggest replacing it the engine with used one? 2) What type of engine will fit my car. i notice that on Ebay, there were several engine for jetta that will fit Eos cars. none so far matches my car. I do have a copy of my Car Data sheet from dealer, I can send to you , if it will help.
Hey I have a question about my TSi. My 2010 golf gti is running like crap rn and it’s giving massive amounts of oil pressure lights and warnings. I’ve changed the oil pressure sensor, and camshaft position sensor. I was researching and I found out about a camshaft bridge? They often mess up in tsi motors which causes, stallage, oil pressure signals, but does it cause low oil pressure because my car is only at 8psi. Really not trying to replace motor
Good morning, my English is not very good. can you help me? , I need to know where the knock sensor g 61 is located in the vw tiguan tsi 2.0 turbo engine like the one in the video thank you
I have this exact same engine and i have my check engine light on, when i plug in my diagnostics tool it gives me 2 errors "00152 intake air temperature sensor 2 circuit, high" and "12600 intake manifold runner control (imrc), control difference" , i did change the air intake temperature sensor the one close to the throttle body you showed here 1:05 but my 00152 error did not go away, even after clearing it comes back. I'm starting to feel like there are 2 of theses sensors since mine has a "2" at the end of it and i might have changed the wrong one, if this is true may you please help me locate the other one and also locate the (imrc)
Is this video compatible with the 2013 Volkswagen CC 2.0T? Trying to help my son who is located across town. He's trying to locate his front O2 Sensor - Thanks, Mike
Hey man. I have a 02 gti 337 edition, and recently I started hearing a whistling noise under full boost. I hear that this can happen to diverter valves when they're dirty or going bad or what not. Think that's my issue? Also have a code for an evap leak but I don't think that would have anything to do with it. Sai is deleted and the car is stage 1 apr. but this noise just started happening a few days ago.
I have a 2009 VW CC which I am turning into a project car. First euro project for me. I am looking for a good place to get a used 2.0 tsi bare block. Can you point me in the right direction of where I can find one other then the local yards or ebay? Thanks in advance.
