Big tip, the ship at 7:08 has no door connecting to the oxygen bay or engine. This means they cannot be repaired if damaged or destroyed. What you can do is simply destroy the oxygen bay so the crew slowly suffocates and then destroy the engine room so they cannot decide to run away. Then just wait a few minutes, go grab a snack, whatever. Once the crew suffocates, you'll get a much higher scrap reward then if you had destroyed the ship. Killing the crew without bringing the ship's HULL down to zero pretty much always yields higher scrap returns.
Once I got it going really good, triple burst lasers, almost every race in the ship and a defense droid on board, plus approx 400 scraps, looking around for a shop to improve it more. Come across this slug ship with 4 full shields, in a meteorite sector.I was like , meh, until one of their lucky missiles knocked my shield bay, then a meteorite hit my weapons bay. End of the story, I just watched my ship being ripped apart. Game is "too" random sometimes. And there is no opportunity to prepare the ship for every possible threat.
You didn't have enough shields? If you came across a slug ship with 4 shields you must have been very late in the game... should have had 3 or 4 shields by then
I played 40 hours in 4 days but still haven't beaten the fucking mothership, once I won two of the three fights but no, and usually after I have devoted over an hour to getting everything right and think that now I'll make it but die in the second-last or the last sector. God I love-hate this game.
+Mustamaggara Same thing here, most annoying thing for me on boss level is if I want to repair and 90% of the time there is no clear way for getting there.
Beginners, you are going to die ALOT. i got 70 hours in and have managed to beat the last boss only 3 times.....and on easy...... Most of the time you will die because you made a simple miscalculation. you got a bit too greedy. If you can get one extra start in but have to fight the rebel fleet to jump out of the sector, just jump out of the sector. more than likely the sadistic game engine will brew a ship that will utterly destroy you . if you dont have a blue option for random events, best to just skip the random event as you will likely lose a crew member, take 5 damage, or some other horrible thing will happen. On my first jump in the first sector with my basilisk(mantis b ship) i encountered a drone in a solar flare battle. I just reset because by the time my jump drive would be charged, my ship would have been a burning wreak. Thats the kind of crap that gets thrown at you. dont be afraid to reset the game after one or two jumps only if they suck. the inital few jumps can set the tone for your entire run. if you are in sector 2 and loose a couple of guys, you still can go on. one of my best runs with the mantis b, was litterally haveing 3 mantis boarding crew members die and only having an engineer left. I used him and a slug i got later on as a boarding party and eventually ended up with a full crew again including 3 mantis. So you arent always screwed. If you only have a few armor left, DONT engage in battle if you dont have to. if it gives you the option to just hide or skip it, do it. incidently thats how i lost that ship :D

Great tip, thx.
so that's why my fire drone run has been such a success :O
I've never seen this before thanks for the tip man! :)
thanks for the tip, I will try it out :)
+Barbara Cordone Good tip, but I rather avoid such plays if I they can actually damage me (damn those pesky missiles!).
"Gotta upgrade muh engine and shield before anything" "ooh a 65$ weapon!" *gets scraps stolen*
I've put 30 hours into the game and I still suck at it.
I've put hundreds of hours in and I have the world record speed run
Wow someone get this man a cookie^^^^
Steam tell me I have 60 hours and I refuse to believe it

+Fatih Taskin I kinda like that aspect though, real life is pretty random sometimes.

But missiles go through shields rlbond.......The missile hit his shields, and took them out. So it wouldn't matter how many shields he has??/?
Derick Shank I think missles do at most 3 damage and if his shields were 3 or 4 they would stay up and deflect the meteorites
Fatih Taskin dude I cant even unlock any more ships the flag ship is to hard
This video could be A LOT more compressed

Uh when i go to boss battle i have 100% and after i beat it i have 75%
no one likes a show-off :-|
Mustamaggara wat?
joke ;D
Thank you! I didn't know the nebulae would slow down the enemy fleet.

You can keep your saved games and load them if you want. You just need to exit the game and re-enter. I always keep some for backup, i don't exploit.
I don't know if this is true, but the chance of seeing a rebel in nebulas are halved.
Thanks for the tips & advice! :)
