Love these videos! Thank you!
Glad you like them! thank you for watching!
Awesome as usual!
Awe thank you!
I love your videos. They are so informative! What color did you use for the edge of the top? Was it the wash mix?
Thank you! Yes I use the same wash that is on top!
Beautiful. I finally think I understand washes! Thank you. If I wanted to do 2 coats of top coat on the dresser and 4 on the top, could I just do the entire dresser twice and then do 2 more for the top? Or is it better to complete one area at a time? This dresser is beautiful.
I like to complete one area at a time, but it’s a preference 😀
Thanks!
Thank you for my super thanks! So appreciated!
@@BorninaBarnBoutique thank YOU
Do u do a scratch test. I did my diningroom set with fusion and i have knicks. I painted 8 chairs and the table. Thinking or redoing them with a sprayer and the cab top came out really nice. Hmmm
The only time I have ever had issues is if I didn’t scuff the piece well or prime. I test each piece to ensure good adhesion. Keep in mind all paints will chip or get knicked when bumped or banged into. I would suggest a good primer (gripper or ultra grip) for adhesion and a top coat as well for high traffic pieces.
how long between coats of paint do you wait? beautiful piece thanks for the videos
Thank you! Typical dry time for most water based paints is 1-2 hours in most climates. If your in extreme cold or humid weather you will want to wait longer.
Loved the mixed stain top & the brass hit it out of the park. New sub here... will you talk about your sanding & video systems? Thanks.
Thank you and thank you for subscribing! Sorry about the delayed response, for some reason some of them get hidden! I have one on each of my sanders (not my vac system) and not sure what you mean - my video systems? :)
@@BorninaBarnBoutique what type of sanding & video system do you have.
Beautiful! Was this all wood or any veneer? Have you ever worked with veneer or engineered wood with stains?
This was all wood. I work with veneer all the time with stains, but not engineered woods, can’t stain those 😀
Hi!
Couple questions-
Why (if you didn’t) did you not topcoat the body?
Do you spray your top coat on!?
Do you think your fusion paint in the sprayer?
I’m going to attempt this color combo and wanted to check.
This paint has a built in topcoat - it’s an all in one - so not required - sometimes I topcoat additional and sometimes I don’t, depends on the piece and the what the clients want
I do primarily spray my topcoat
I typically thin a little, depends on the color and your spray system hoe much - I suggest using a viscosity cup and refer to your sprayer manual - most will talk about thinning for their systems and material you are using
@@BorninaBarnBoutique thank you so much! After googling for a while I read fusion had a built in top coat. I haven’t worked with it before, just Annie Sloan and other paints.
But I went ahead and ordered this combo from fusion.
I’m excited to recreate this color combo with a dresser and chest set I have.
Thanks for your great tutorials.
Can you do this same wash on the top over an already painted surface?
You could I suppose - but it won't come out the same - the beauty of it is it shows the beautiful wood grain - like a stain it is sheer.
Amazing! Where did you find the hardware love it
Thank you - Amazon!
Wanted to ask if your sprayer is electric or compressed air generated.?
This is an all in one sprayer - it has its own built in compressor - it does not require an independent compressor
Where did you get the things under the dresser legs to avoid painting the floor
Those came from Harbor Freight!
Another great video. Just watched a general finishes video on their satin topcoat and they said not to use it on whites. Obviously I've seen you use it on whites and lights as here. Any yellowing issues? Thank you!
So I didn’t topcoat this painted body, if I do topcoat white or lights on the body of the pieces I tint my topcoat by adding the paint to it. On these tops I have no issue with yellowing and I use this topcoat everytime. 😀
@@BorninaBarnBoutique great thanks. Where is the buy me a coffee option?? :-)
@@d.rogers4184 I believe in the video it’s in the upper right corner - unless it has disappeared. The super thanks is a similar thing which is located under the video - near the like/dislike share, etc - thank you! 😀
Great makeover. So you purchased for 40, how much were yiu able to sell it for? I am new to this and thrilled I found your channel.
Hi, welcome and thank you! I sold this piece for $400!
So now the question is, what did it sell for? What's "quite a bit more money?"
If you watched until the the end I said what I’m going to ask for the piece - this video is current (I just completed the project a few days ago and then posted the video) and the piece is going up for sale today.
