Since I am new to spraying this is so helpful. :) This turned out SOOOOOO beautiful and I love the colors you chose! Thanks again for taking the time to teach and help us learn the process. :) Have a great rest of the week!

    Beautiful. I finally think I understand washes! Thank you. If I wanted to do 2 coats of top coat on the dresser and 4 on the top, could I just do the entire dresser twice and then do 2 more for the top? Or is it better to complete one area at a time? This dresser is beautiful.

    Do u do a scratch test. I did my diningroom set with fusion and i have knicks. I painted 8 chairs and the table. Thinking or redoing them with a sprayer and the cab top came out really nice. Hmmm

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  2 роки тому +1

      The only time I have ever had issues is if I didn’t scuff the piece well or prime. I test each piece to ensure good adhesion. Keep in mind all paints will chip or get knicked when bumped or banged into. I would suggest a good primer (gripper or ultra grip) for adhesion and a top coat as well for high traffic pieces.

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique

      Thank you! Typical dry time for most water based paints is 1-2 hours in most climates. If your in extreme cold or humid weather you will want to wait longer.

    Hi!
    Couple questions-
    Why (if you didn’t) did you not topcoat the body?
    Do you spray your top coat on!?
    Do you think your fusion paint in the sprayer?
    I’m going to attempt this color combo and wanted to check.

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  Рік тому +1

      This paint has a built in topcoat - it’s an all in one - so not required - sometimes I topcoat additional and sometimes I don’t, depends on the piece and the what the clients want
      I do primarily spray my topcoat
      I typically thin a little, depends on the color and your spray system hoe much - I suggest using a viscosity cup and refer to your sprayer manual - most will talk about thinning for their systems and material you are using

    • @Chaoswithmycoffee
      @Chaoswithmycoffee Рік тому

      @@BorninaBarnBoutique thank you so much! After googling for a while I read fusion had a built in top coat. I haven’t worked with it before, just Annie Sloan and other paints.
      But I went ahead and ordered this combo from fusion.
      I’m excited to recreate this color combo with a dresser and chest set I have.
      Thanks for your great tutorials.

    Can you do this same wash on the top over an already painted surface?

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  2 роки тому

      You could I suppose - but it won't come out the same - the beauty of it is it shows the beautiful wood grain - like a stain it is sheer.

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique

    Another great video. Just watched a general finishes video on their satin topcoat and they said not to use it on whites. Obviously I've seen you use it on whites and lights as here. Any yellowing issues? Thank you!

    • @BorninaBarnBoutique
      @BorninaBarnBoutique  2 роки тому +1

      So I didn’t topcoat this painted body, if I do topcoat white or lights on the body of the pieces I tint my topcoat by adding the paint to it. On these tops I have no issue with yellowing and I use this topcoat everytime. 😀
