    Hello
Thank you for a thoughtful episode.
For me, I think that simply being our authentic self is being on purpose.
Being of service and shining our light simply means being kind, compassionate and sharing of ourselves. That can be as simple as sharing a smile to a stranger or sharing our love of fibre arts.
Keep being the light and the inspiration that you are through this podcast. ❤

The hat and spinning are fabulous and the shrug makes me want to cast on another! The question stopped me in my tracks. After some thought I think I’m going to ask “what am I bringing” question of myself every morning when I get out of bed. It might make my day more fulfilling!

Wow, that is an interesting philosophical question: "What did you bring into this life?". The moment I think, now I have the answer, something makes me change my mind again. When I think of myself as a new born baby, I could say, that what I bring is infinite, all the possibilities of God. Later, after beeing on this earth, special preferances crystalize out of this infinite pool and I can tell, that I love or don`t like certain things, that I am good in one thing, bad in another and mediocer in many other things. I think now, that there are so many gifts, that I bring, but that it is also important to leave some empty space in this "giftbasket of God", which was given to us when we entered this world. Enough space to receive the "gifts" of others.

Good morning, thanks for another wonderful and thought provoking episode. I feel as though I’ve always brought a smile and positive energy to the world. More recently I’ve brought strength and patience. My creativity sometimes takes a back seat however I do believe it’s been with me from the beginning. Thank you for the question.

Thank you,Ivana for an insightful episode.Im glad your posed that question. It's akin to the Stoics " Why are you here?"...I think I have brought a need to be of service to others and 2...to be a keeper of past ; to honour lives lived of those gone and what they passed onto me ..and thus, how I can then pay those lessons forward.
Stay cool and enjoy your new rabbit holes.🙏🌱♥️👋🐨🌏xx

I often ask this question too. And fail to answer with ease as too often the ego comes crashing in. Instead, I wonder if this is less about the personal and more about the bigger picture that is our planet’s eco-crisis. To which I endeavour daily to bring a lighter footprint 💚 Thank you for the reminder x

    Ivana,
That is a great question! Usually, the first thing that comes to mind is the correct answer.
What came to mind for me, compassion. When I was young I also loved creating things from unusual items__jewelry from found electrical wire, making 'card houses' from the heavy paper you find commercial cupcakes sitting on in their packaging, creating fancy dresses for Barbie out of Grandma's doilies, etc!
When my 2 sons were around 8 and 9 I asked them, "If something happened to me and I died, and you had to say something about what kind of person I was, what would you say?'' They pretty much said the same thing: I was a good mom and a caring person__I cared about other people, animals, and the environment.
It's nice to know your children "know" who you are, and that you 'stand for something'__mine certainly do. 🙏😇💫✨🌱🌿🌻🐝🌳🌎💖🙌😺

Hello, I'm a firm believer in the bible. The bible talks in a figurative sense in regards to your 'gifts' question. It talks about 'gifts in men.' What that distills down to each of us is born with different gifts and no 2 people are exactly alike. So if we are lucky enough to discover what our gifts are then we can develop them and hopefully be taking the path to bring goodness with our gifts to unselfishly benefit those that need them. Personally I started out my journey at 5 years old with a burning desire to sew clothes for my doll. It developed into a lifelong sidehustle I always fell back on. I'm a technical sewer with a love of tailoring/structured garments. But added to that later in life is a deep and abiding love of knitting. Brings such peace. Any knitter knows this contentment. Have a wonderful week!!!! Carrie from Northern San Francisco Bay Area 😘❤🐕🐑🌹☕🧵🪡🧶

This question has haunted me for 24 hours. I have a framed statement part of which says that one is created in grace at this time to fill His purpose for this time and for generations to come. At age 83+ I would say that I brought in a receptor ,a vessel, to receive and contain and pour out all that is collected in the gifts of love, knowledge, shared life experiences from those past and present, and skills to other sojourns along my path. I am a mother , grandmother, great grandmother, a sister, a friend, a teacher and I would only hope that what I brought in has served it’s purpose well.

Hi again friend, so nice to see you knitting in the beginning of the episode. I love watching people knitting and to notice how different each person does with their own touch and style. If you don’t mind me asking how many stitches did you cast on for the blue Saturday shrug and what size of needles did you use ?
I love the philosophical question also … it will make me think about it for a long time, because I do believe we all bring something …I just have to find what I brought and I do believe you are so very creative and illuminated and I see your light my friend ✨💗

Ivana, your videos are always thought provoking. What did you bring? … Hmmm, not easy to answer. I almost feel that others might be better qualified to tell us what we brought. I’ve been retired now for 14 years. For most of my working life I was employed as a medical secretary in public hospitals. (Our struggling National Health Service here in the UK). I loved my work. It was not well paid. We were once asked to complete a questionnaire to ascertain what we brought to the job, to answer as truthfully as possible. When my results came back, I was told I was a Mentor, and I was quite happy to receive that feedback. I’m not sure if that translates to my personal life. However, throughout my life I have found that people generally open up to me (without my asking). I think I’m a good listener at least. I’m not wise, but maybe people don’t always seek advice. Only to be heard. Nowadays, however, everybody just wants me to bring socks! 😅🧦🧦🧦🧦🧦

Such a great question but a difficult one. On one hand I would like to say I brought warmth, compassion and love through the two beautiful souls that are my children. Good energy and inspiration through my crafts too, but then on the other hand I think well, how dare I think I even brought anything at all, maybe nothing of value to anyone! And children as amazing and incredible as they are, they also are our blessings and gifts to us and not the other way round. Which then makes me think I should try harder and make that my goal for every day, to try and bring something into the world, and I’m not talking about some grand, new ideas or inventions but just the simple things in life because even the smallest things like making someone a cup of tea can make someone remember you by in the hour of need or perhaps cooking something nice for the family after they’ve had a long day. Thank you for this wonderful episode, sharing your experiences and this meaningful conversation.

You make a great entrance in this video as an elegant lady knitting. It could be a portrait. I like the purple plied yarn. Perhaps you’ll weave it into a shawl with your other marled natural coloured handspuns. ‘What did you bring?’ Curiosity, creativity, indecisiveness, a love of nature, a desire to be connected and to belong. This question makes you think doesn’t it. 😳

Maybe I brought gentleness and humor. My husband always told people that I had integrity, which was interesting because that's not something I would have felt I should say about myself. I actually feel this is one of those exercises in which people who know you can answer better (maybe) than you can yourself. In fact, you might be very interested to hear what they have to say!

Well, this will sound terrible, but I feel that I have brought intelligence. Not the know-it-all sort of intelligence, but the work-out-a-problem sort of intelligence; the look-at-all-sides-before-making-a-decision, abstract-thought, help-others-find-their-way, and to-question-is-the-answer sort of intelligence. Of course, my husband would say that I'm just problematic!

I watched your video just a few minutes after it appeared and decided to take time to think about your question.."what did you bring?" I found my answer at church yesterday when our pastor qouted scripture about how God wants us to always plan to be around awhile. He wants us to make plans, but why? God wants us to be our best, to achieve our goals. I thought about this and how it intertwined with your question, and came up with mentoring. I believe my purpose is to mentor and I guess I've always brought that to the table. I don't think it's an accident that my 23 year old granddaughter was brought to me to finish raising. While she always had a roof over her head, she has had to fend for herself since age 15, and was sexually assaulted at age 16. She refused counseling, and so I believe is stuck at 16. She's very book smart, but lacks common sense oftentimes. Long story short, I'm 70 and never planned on taking this journey during retirement, but here I am, mentoring a young woman that was destined for homelessness. Thank you for such a thought provoking question, Ivana! p.s. I taught her to crochet and she's in college now for a career in the medical field. I'm so proud of her!! ❤
