BE CAREFUL WITH BIOTIN!!!! Biotin will cause bloodwork you might have done to give false/incorrect results. Tell your doctor you are taking it anytime they order blood tests. The doc may make you stop taking biotin for a few weeks before they try to do the tests. I found out the hard way. 😫

Usually when I see shawls on Ravelry they are either triangular or crescent shaped (my favorite), so I'm guessing that the rectangle would be a wrap. Decades ago I read a book by a woman named Paula Begoun called "Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter without Me" (apparently it's in its 8th edition now!), in which she warned against sodium lauryl sulfate in shampoo. She said sodium laureth sulfate is okay, so I have always checked labels since then. I found the thickness of my own hair in my youth to be almost unmanageable, so I have welcomed some overall thinning that has come with age/menopause. That being said, I am very skeptical of topical products and would agree with some other comments here that you might want to get your hormonal status checked and then decide what you would like to do from that standpoint. (Average age of actual menopause is around 51, but symptoms can start several years before the "event.")

Ivana,it seems to me that so much of what you offer especially coming from your family room chats is not only inspiring but thought provoking/ stimulating. All of us appreciate your time and professional input. You are correct in sharing that there are a great deal of instructional videos available. Like your basket weaving sharing , you would bring is a bonding experience resulting in stimulating the art of creativity. Like so many others I was introduced to knitting , sewing, crocheting by my Mother creating an appreciation for learning a new skill a bond that has been enhanced in the past few years like you and others. Texas is a far cry from where you are and it is no longer 1945 but for me the exchange would be the same. It would be an afternoon of observing the joy one experiences in watching another process thru creating.

I'm definetely cheering for weekly vlog !!!! No pressure, but would love more videos for sure. And i love these vlogs, the garden, following you , the knits and the tip. I don't know if you feel it, i guess you do, but i feel a community growing here. A sens of share between all of us. That's very nice ! The woven piece, for me, would be a lap blanket, and it’s gorgeous. Love your use of colors, I need to start to spinning more black, white and gray and add other commercial yarns into the mix. Hi Ivana a big warn cheer from South Australia I love watching everything you produce. I got back into crochet when you made the crochet basket video and I have been wanting to knit your in and out raglan in handspun ever since you put out your recipe, so if you do make a video I would knit along with you. I smiled at your no kangaroo tee shirt because my daughter is hand raring an orphaned joey and when she stayed the night a few days ago I fed it a bottle from the warmth of my bed. My husband thought our bed should be a no kangaroo zone.😊

Regarding hair loss, age has so much to do with it, but you should also consider going to your physician and have a blood test to make sure your thyroid is working well. Women often develop hypothyroidism as we age and hair loss is one of the symptoms. Minoxidil or Rogaine is a topical treatment that promotes new hair growth (dermotologists suggest using the treatmnet for Men which is stronger) but it only works as long as you use it, stop and new growth also stops. In the US there is a supplement called NUTRAFOL which I take, but it is not cheap. I'm 69 and all my friends have thinning hair, menopause stops a lot of our hormonal and metabolic system which results in hair loss and weight gain. Aging is not fun, except for more time to knit, LOL.

My heart jumped when you said you might take us along as you knit an “In & Out Raglan”!!! I would love that…..I’ve been wanting to knit one but have felt intimidated to do it. If I could watch you do it once, I feel like that’s all it would take. I can read patterns but visually watching is how I learn best. By making this comment, I don’t want you to feel pressured to do it but if by chance you decide you’d like too, know there’s more than one person who would love it. I love your videos! Yes, please do the raglan sweater from beginning to end, that would be lovely. ❤ I have also had hair loss, it has been stress and hormone related. In the end, the answer for me has been managing stress better, sleep, hair oils/serum, and HRT - hormone replacement therapy. If you are interested in HRT, Dr. Mary Claire Haver has a UA-cam channel in which she explains this very well. Please tell me what is the kind of small loom you used for that shawl/wrap you just finished...I want to experiment with one.

Ivana, could you please tell me how WIDE the garter scarf is, and maybe how many stitched, you said it is about 2 meters long....my guess it's less than 2 feet wide maybe?....I have much handspun and just finished a blanket you inspired wherein I carded a bin full of mixed wools, spun singles, and held 2 together and knit a beautiful blanket in plain brioche...very addicting....as is simple garter stitch...the simplicity is so soothing, and satisfying after many socks and sweaters...also I think you said 4mm needles (on garter scarf, dk wt yarn) = size 6 needles ?

I came to your channel one video ago, where I saw you working on your shawl on the loom… Today, after seeing you pull the shawl off the loom, I ordered a loom. Small one, because I have never done it before. I am pretty excited about it, and I can't wait to add that into my yarn work rotations.

No joke the thought in my head was "ooh I have to get yarn that color (the golden mustard color) for that hat." Then thought "we'll it looks great on her it might not on me." So at least on camera you owned that color. Sometimes it's confidence that makes the outfit or colors come together. I'm pretty sure I'll give that chopstick trick a go next skein windup. Love simple tricks to make things easier.

I'm always inspired by your weaving, do you have a suggestion for a good warping tutorial that shows the method you prefer?

I’d loooove a video series on the In and Out Raglan. It’s so pretty, but the recipe alone is not enough for me to be able to knit it. Also, your color sense is fabulous. I love everything you create!

In Hungary we call that wide shawl a stole :) beautiful coloures you choose. I love both of them. About your hairloss, try consider suppliments too, not just biotine but vitamines like B12, B6, Omega 3, curcumin these are good for stress and inflamation, and minerals. Hair loss can be a cause of hormonal issues, some sort inflamation in your body, or lack of minerals, vitamins, premenopausal state and so on, so a lot of things. I aggree with the lady who said you should check on it, but first a bloodtest to see if everything is okay.

Love your longer videos! Just a thought Re hair loss…I read about certain migraine medicines causing some hair loss in patients. Just something to think about. Ok, back to the video! 😘

perimenopause, my dear. it's loads of fun! hahaha that's also why you sleep poorly. 😩😩😩 I tried castor oil but I found it really difficult to wash out of my hair. It does work, though, I use it for my eyebrows and lashes. good luck draga 💞

I love the scar you are knitting, can you tell me how many stitches you cast on and what size needles, it looks like a beautiful gift for Christmas, I think we are having your heat summer here in utah, about 102 to 114 f. Its been a hot one, I use the biotin gummed, I am gonna be 61 this winter, it seems to really help. Have a wonderful day today, hugs❤

Beautiful shawl! You do such excellent work on everything! You’re a true talent! I’m envious of all the fruit and veg you grow there, but not of the heat. We are having the hottest July on record for Maine and it’s been high 80’s F. But with very high humidity. Just a tidbit of info on your hair, when I was recovering from a very serious illness a couple years ago and having been given tons of medications, my hair began falling out horribly. I would put about 20 drops of Rosemary EO in a cup and take in the shower with me. After washing my body and hair, I filled the cup with water and poured over my hair and worked it into my scalp with my fingers. During that time, I stopped using a blow dryer and let my hair air dry. Then I put just a few drops of Black Seed Oil in my hand and rubbed it into my hair and scalp. After a very short time, my hair stopped falling out and grew like crazy. All those pieces of the fringe you cut off could be put outside for the birds to use in their nests. Just FYI. I also want to tell you I have been buying my olive oil from a farm un Crete, and it’s just the best. Thank you for another lovely video! Stay cool! 🥰
