Swordfish are not endangered. As of 2021, the IUCN Red List classified the global and Mediterranean swordfish, aka the Xiphias gladius, as Near Threatened. Click bait. Otherwise nice video. Why would you exaggerate the condition of the fishery?

you're right. they're not extinct, that's true, but as populations decline, they will sooner or later become extinct... sorry about clickbait btw

Near Threatened is a enough of a cautionary flag to take another look at how a species is being treated.

This video is interesting, but I'd like to point out that swordfish are currently classified as Near Threatened, not Endangered. They still need conservation efforts 😁😁

Of course, I apologize, but why do we see a sailfish at the beginning of the video, and not a swordfish? Did the author not fully understand it or are there not enough necessary shots?

I'm very sorry for that, it's both, I don't have enough materials, and it's also because I lack understanding. I will learn from experience in the next videos

I'm not quite sure why you kept mentioning grouper. As far as I'm aware, they are not part of the diet of any of the swordfish species.
I do, however, agree that Near Threatened is cause to have another look at how these various species are treated.
I'm more familiar with the species seen here around the coasts of New Zealand, which includes Striped, Blue and Black Marlin plus Broadbill Swordfish.
Edit: Had to walk away and came back. 04:27 I can't watch any more of this. You're showing power driven bottom reels while talking about catching swordfish.
Please do more research than a 5 year old with a borrowed laptop.

You are showing barracuda and calling them king mackerel which they are not.

You know the video is going to be hokey when the thumbnail has got a photoshopped conglomeration of different fishes as its representation of a swordfish, then, a majority of the footage is of sailfish! Content for landlubbers.

Why are you showing sailfish on your video when "educating" (?) about swordfish? You need to find a better editor.

We are really concerned about the way Americans exploit giant swordfish, leading to the risk of extinction of this rare fish. Unsustainable actions not only threaten the marine ecosystem but also lose part of the priceless natural heritage that we need to protect for future generations.

You really need to learn the species of the fish you're showing on screen, as opposed to what you're talking about. Every fish with a bill, is NOT a swordfish. You've got Marlin and sailfish all over this video...
