Thanos is still virtuous to Yahweh. The arguer is saying accepting results are just through legitimate ends( hence jebus as the reason de etre)..other will place questions and feedback in the place of jesus which is prudent( history, science inquiry, ethics of any topic, hypotheticals). ends based on person/ideology not on deed: which is harder to excuse. The zealot can't see this and they live as if they are arbiters for those 'lost and blind.' The wisest philosophy is typically, show your work and do it demonstrably.

No because then in the wacky view that makes sense to them, they don't understand why that is mistake. It's not good until they who seemingly can't get the other point of perspective( which seems to be willful ignoring) what you suggest will just allow zealots of any absurd go on as if, triumphant. I agree with what you're saying. But there is SOME evidence in the text for the view that there is a new covenant. And there's SOME that suggests there isn't..Is Jesus the fulfillment of the old law or not? Is salvation through keeping the Mosaic code or overturning it? Matt vs Paul is a real thing. The Gentile vs Jewish Christian split is a real thing.

This is the first video that I've seen of yours and I LOVE your style. I have a very devout brother that engages in conversations with me unabashedly and it becomes hard to not get upset with him, and that's not what I want at all. The whole thing breaks down. I like Seth Andrews too, when he's on The Line, because he's respectful too. But as intelligent as he is, Matt Dillahunty is only watchable to me when he's in serious debates. When he's on The Line his temper is atrocious.
I can see you struggle a little sometimes with the caller, but you still gave him the benefit of the doubt in that he believed that his beliefs were well founded. It took me 30 years to see the cracks in the Jesus story clearly enough to not ignore. Another 8 years to realize that I don't believe in a god at all.

Why do believers want to hold on to believing that an invisible being shows up to chosen prophets with laws to follow vs. it being an impossible leap for them to come to the conclusion some conservative Jewish Rabbi just made up stories about a God named Yahweh to endorse the laws they preferred in order to create their vision of the best possible structured society they could conceive in their time that favored a priest class and all powerful leaders assigned by Yahweh, of course. It seems like the latter explanation is far less of a leap... power craving people being people.

Of course, they're also misunderstandings of the actual principles because most modern 'pagans' are about as good at understanding their own belief systems as the abrahamics are at understanding theirs.

Thanks for not muting callers, or calling them “effing idiots” like some other atheist call in show hosts are quick to do. I think your method and calmness will be more conducive to theists wanting to engage. Some other hosts on other shows let their anger and frustration ruin calls that might otherwise be productive because they can’t let go of their ego.

Three, they don't answer the tough questions they pivot to other subjects or try to see a perspective thats not relevant to try to answer questions they can't answer ?

It seems that people who do not understand very much have no problem with God doing things they do not understand. Am I to infer that lack of understanding in general is a reason for a propensity in a belief of God? Is there a correlation between belief and mental acuity?

It is true what this guy is saying. Everything God does may not look good but He eventually works it out for good, He says.. I do not like it either and I am on the fence about God. However, proving God does things that are wrong to us does not prove His non-existence. He can do anything He wants and still be considered just. Not in our eyes but His. This is the whole difficulty with believing in Him.
