Your definition of yodeling is obviously vastly different to mine! Perhaps you could describe James' singing on the KEA album version of Seek as yodeling... but screeching is probably a better descriptor. But that certainly doesn't apply to this Woodstock performance.
I just love how fucking metal the cut sequence from 3:50-4:02. Lars drumming so hard he looks like he gonna pass out, Jason headbanging like a crazy lunatic, James standing in front of the amps downpicking like a fucking maniac, and can’t forget my nigga Kirk standing majestically after shredding the fuck outta that guitar.
@@hammerheadracingmedia3823 love metallica and sting, i think this did suit sting to an extent for the short time he was a heel. i was one of the few that like him heel and while he was most definitely a different/cool kinda heel i personally loved it.

En Metallica no valoraron a Jason como realmente lo merecía... Robert Trujillo es buen bajista... pero Jason Newsted es otra cosa... y ni hablar de Cliff Burton, que era GOD
I love Jason just as much as anyone, but he was never Metallica's front man. Singing lead vocals for a couple of minutes doesn't make someone the front man. That is and always will be James and James only. Jason was an awesome bassist and provided great backing vocals - indeed great lead vocals too.
Rob Trujillo is awesome and deserves his place in Metallica - but Jason Newstead. Hands down best Metallica Bassist. Cliff is a legend no doubt and had events not went the way they did he'd doubtless be the best ever but, IN THIS CORNER, FROM HEAVY METAL GROUP METALLICA, JASON NEWSTEAD!!!!!!
Rob is the stupid funk and skate thrash whatever bassist, cliff was the classical trained genius but Jason was the extreme metal focused bassist and brought that heavy energy to their music. They never sounded even close

Yep looks like it was the high E string, which is the thinnest and most prone to breaking. Surprised it doesn't happen to him and Kirk more the way they play so hard. Wouldn't have made much of if any difference to his rhythm riffing. Kirk would have major problems during the solo if it happened to him instead though.
Jon Robbin only because the crowd pissed him off from their week "seek and destroy". looks like he signalled to Jason to take over. then he stood in front of the blaring amps probably thinking, "can these mother fucker hear us or what??"
Anthony Anselmi Jason often sang ’Seek & Destroy’ and ’Whiplash’. James was not at his best here. Only a year before he went to rehab. Metallicas future was really up in the air. Later Jason was kicked from the band.
