I've been a Metallica fan for more than thirty years, since the first time I heard them. Looking at this video, I can tell how old I am and feel because when I see them playing, all I'm thinking is how they look like a bunch of kids. I know, I know, at the time they were. But the fact that that is all I could think of is making me feel old right now. I was only six when they did this, lol.

Now this is what being a teenager in the 80s was all about. And you would be rocking out with everyone in the crowd and finding your way to some deadly after party where you'd rock some more!!!! And do it all again the next weekend! Met a lot of people in those days
While watching this video just now I had a random memory of when I was a teenager. (I'm 50 years old now, as of June first.) I had applied for a job at Taco Bell and I went in to my job interview with my hair looking much the same as Cliffs hair, and my jean jacket covered in Metallica patches. And on the front chest of the jacket the patch "METALLICA ALCAHOLICA" My interviewer had commented on my super long hair, and I saw him looking at that patch on the front of my jacket too. Hmmm, they never did call me back, lol. Well, their loss as I've always been one of the hardest working most reliable employees at any job I've ever worked. But, my gain as fortunately can say now that I've never worked at Taco Bell! Ha... Or any fast food chain for that matter. Phew, that was a close one, almost did. I have to thank Metallica for helping me avoid that fate ha ha. Thank you!

My gosh, living legends in their teens. Awesome raw talent.
They played so dam well together early, its amazing
This brings back memories. Metallica opened for WASP during this time. I worked Security for a show in Corpus Christi, Texas at the Ritz Theater. Got high with Cliff Burton. Great Times!!
That's awesome!
Dude, you got stoned with Cliff? thats fucking awesome...
Yeah, Im sixteen and I grew up on 60-80's music, mostly metal, with Queen and Led Zeppelin sprinkled throughout, I seriously wished I grew up in the 80's... 😢

Those 83 shows were epic !!! Glad I got to see a few i was 12 and tickets were like 5 bucks !! Those were the days !
Ha! I hear ya I was only 12 lol. I think this was in 1982 or 83. But I did end up buying their 1st album when I was 12 I think lol “Kill ‘em All.” Damn that seems like a lifetime ago!
My very 1st concert was Metallica & Anthrax in 1986 lol. I was 15 omg 😂.
Damn where’d the time go?!

I've watched this so many times
Now this is what being a teenager in the 80s was all about. And you would be rocking out with everyone in the crowd and finding your way to some deadly after party where you'd rock some more!!!! And do it all again the next weekend! Met a lot of people in those days
Damn, James and Kirk had such babyfaces lol. But their performance was great
Andy Dropithard 😂😂😂
Lars really looks the Same es always
But He Has more hair back then
are you sure about that???
Kirk and lars had the baby face. James had pretty bad acne back in the day! Hes still got the scars

One of my fav Metallica songs. Spot on live. This is a great performance. Saw them in 89 with the Cult. Great show then to
Been there since 1981 hell yeah baby 😊❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Fun fact kirk worked at McDonald's, I think it was for funding a Marshall.
I've been in the work force for 40 years now. I can honestly say that the long hair, headbanger guys are the hardest working.
Dishlickers of the world unite!
@@charliec5653 I worked with a guy like that, always got everything done and was just a great guy
Somewhere back then an angry dave mustaine has formed megadeth
Have to wonder if he was pissed at Lars more than the others, I mean he did pull in a fucking badass drummer lol
And kicked some asses

Cliff might be out of spotlight on the stage but you can still see and feel how hard he is rocking. Respect!
Hate to say it but on this recording his bass is nearly in audible
@@joesmith4045 was just about to say that man. It sucks because his bassline on S&D is one of my favorites
This is the greatest American rock/metal/thrash band of all time. They've kept the core together and are still out there playing their asses off and creating new music.
Eu sou de 83 e o cara já tava representando, uma lenda... raiz do hevy metal
I was at this show. It was at the metro in chicago. A guy grabbed kirk's guitar during the show and got his ass kicked by the stage crew.

Good times.
You could hear every note from Kirk's solo so clear smth that now days u can't
Nick Kechris because now he uses his fucking whaw whaw to much
I think it might be the active pickups but idk
Lars playing at normal speed also helps!
He’s getting old lol
