hi from 2024, thank you for this amazing series of video about nodes ! I'm starting my adventure in 3D also I never comment that often but i must say it really motivated me ;) This video clearly deserves more views, I wanna see it rise in 2024
Came to say a massive thanks, like most of the other people here. These videos were an amazing help, I don’t know why most tutorials ‘gloss’ over most of this information.
I have been working with Blender for over a year and a half. You gave me a better understanding of PBR Material Shading in this video. Thanks for sharing.
The Shader in Blender was a complete mystery to me until I viewed both of your material series videos. It has given me enough understanding to start playing with the Shader. Thank you very much, Brandon.
Thank you so much for making these 2 tutorials explaining on point how to use the nodes in materials. Really helped a lot to understand the concept fast and easy. Please keep making these amazing stuff! ❤
Glad it was helpful! And thank you for commenting! I’m trying to send out monthly tips and updates in my email “newsletter”. Would love to have you on it! Join here if interested: Https://brandonsdrawings.com/subscribe
Thank you mate this is by far the best tutorial and explanation for nodes in blender I have ever come across, I can't wait to go through all your tutorials, you explained everything so perfectly, straight to the point, simple and yet detailed. thank you so much. I cannot wait for more of your tutorials.
Hi, I'm Adis from Berlin. Started working with Blender 3 months ago. It got me hooked. Ever since I was a kid, I've had an urge to build anything in 3D. Unfortunately, it wasn't that far, 34 years ago. My idea of what I wanted has only now come true. An Amiga 500 can only do some line art. Boring. I got a real stomach ache from your compatriots, they find it funny, for example, to play a video at double speed and chatter like a waterfall. The one wants to teach you how to represent a terrestrial globe with shaders reasonably realistically. He takes a tarpaulin and bends it into a ball, I didn't realize what logic that was. So I decided, as a beginner, to take a ready-made ball. Yes, it runs through all the instructional videos. Well, some actually did it sensibly, but there was always the fact that they forgot a small, important detail. Example. Export material from a project. After repeating, it 30 times strictly as instructed, I got heartburn. Then I realized that they always forget something. In this example, the node only appears in the add menu once you have placed any texture on an object. I then ask myself, am I stupid, how should I know that as a beginner. To you, you're the king, you really must be a teacher or something. Man, how long have I thought about how to organize the shaders like this. So after three months the ice is broken. Already built my own planet shader. Don't ask how you can still climb through this chaos. Now I can finally organize this chaos. I know 9 programming languages. I'm excellent, I took a quick look at the scripting language used to make shaders. It is a joke, I would like to give you a little support. Please give me a PayPal address. Something like, you must be given at least one meal. After 2 months I managed to make my first animation, which can already be seen. But with so much headache. My problem is impatience. Now I'll start learning the basics from you. You can watch my first video. Warm greetings ua-cam.com/video/NNGFCNrTZys/v-deo.html
This video and the "shading" video should be recognized more. I don't feel over about anything. And this's the best reason for not skipping video or yawning. Thanks bro, i subscribed!
Thanks for saving CTRL Shift T to the end. Going through by hand gave me a better grasp of how the various setting influence the whole. Your explanations are precise and clear. Big thumbs up!
Your Material Shading Tutorials are amazing. They are well structured, informative and easy to go along side. Thank you for your efforts in teaching this program, I for one am really appreciative of your lessons and time. Hope you continue to provide us with Knowledge this passionately.
Hi Jamie, Happy I was able to help, I always love hearing the feedback! I put out new stuff every couple weeks on my e-mail newsletter if you're interested in getting it, you can sign up here: brandonsdrawings.com/subscribe In any case, thank you for taking the time to leave the kind note!
OMG THIS HELPS SO MUCH. I've been thinking UV stood for something related ultra Violet (or some weird alpha channel thing that no one talked about) not simply a U and V coordinate plane.... I feel so dumb, but also so relieved because after a couple weeks of playing around it completely makes sense.
and thats why we need to use the vectors to map the textures around the objects b/c otherwise they're lost in translation. OMFG you're amazing, i've seen like 10 videos that don't explain that simple point.
Un complément grandement nécessaire à la partie une...Quel bonheur de comprendre ENFIN ; Tu m'a ouvert les yeux !!! Merci A much-needed complement to part one... What a joy to understand FINALLY; Did you open my eyes!! Thank you
Thank you very much, knew I had to learn some PBR, found it all a bit daunting your explanations are very thorough and will help in other node based software as well, feeling confident I can tackle it now, and if not have these two vids to come back to, cheers again. Kia ora kapai

Hey Terry, thanks again! What you described is exactly what I was going for. The NLA editor is on my list - unfortunately I work full time and can’t crank these videos out as fast as I’d like to. Soon though.
Dude these are so amazing! Thanks for braking this down to understandable ways. You are a genius and understanding what others don't understand and the best way to convey to that brain. Pure genius!!! Thank you for demystifying this. Been using blender for years and wish ALL tuts were as well thought out as yours thanks again. Cheers!
Thank you so much, texturing and shading in general has been a massive pain and this short two video series was not only informative, but quick and to the point. You earned a sub and a like my friend.
Thanks, Brandon, for a very comprehensive and thorough explanation of how to set up the PBR materials. I'm a newbie to Blender (from Maya, Unreal & Marmoset) so this is really SUPER helpful for me. I really appreciate your videos and your style of explanation. You do a great job balancing simplicity and detail -- showing what's most important but without dragging on into the tiny minutiae. :) Also, a note, the link you have to Topaz Studio seems to go to a dead page. (I was clicking on it to get there to check out possibly purchasing). Thanks again!! You are doing the 3D community a great service with all your videos.
Awesome I thought that learning the principle shader would be extremely long and complicated but you just made it very simple and easy to understand Brandon, all I need to do now is just practise using it on some of the models I have made until it becomes muscle memory.
Hey man ! Really liked this 2 videos. I am really not able to find such explanatory videos all over youtube, please create such more videos where we can understand the blender different parts in detail as everyone else is just creating tutorials for creating something in their own style using own methods, which is kind of really confusing for new learner. Again thanks.
Glad you liked it! And thank you for watching! I put out regular content updates and quick tips in my newsletter too. If interested, you can sign up here: brandonsdrawings.com/subscribe
Thank you so much for these 2 part videos😌. The way you presented, the zoom In effects, Text and examples, really helped me understand this thing more efficiently. 🙏
great vid, very helpful, and educational. I would like to learn how to make all these maps because better under standing and knowledge too better then copy and pasting.
I am currently starting to learn Blender and your videos are amazing! They are so structured and easy to understand. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!😊
My god, that last bit of information is a life changer.
Haha. Glad to hear! Thank you!
It's surprising how few people have watched such a great video; it really covers everything comprehensively. Thanks, Brandon!
