    100% the best animation tutorial for mixamo I have found thus far. I will say you cover Mixamo itself a little more than necessary, but you cover the NLA editor very well. Now I just need to figure out how to create my own animations in a similar way.

      @@Brandon-3D I really like those videos where there's like a rig of basically a human that's dancing, and it's interacting with a particle simulation. I've wanted to do one of those for like a super long time, but I was never able to figure out how to find the motion information of a dancing animation with a rig to go along with it. and I know that those animators weren't creating those motion captions themselves. so I'm guessing they probably used the process described in this video. which is where I think it's quintessential

    So, to get things simple, you could just collect all useful animations from there, download them all, then import them alltogether and "batch" "push" rename them.
    Blender should or could bring such "standard animations" within blender. They are helping very much.

    TypeError: Scene.frame_set(): error with argument 1, "frame" - Function.frame expected an int type, not float
    Here is the Bug fix as suggested by Blender Today:
    Go to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\3.3\scripts\addons\mixamo_rig Open mixamo_rig.py , and just before line 2106 paste this (Use notepad++ to see line numbers):
    fs = floor(fs)
    fe = floor(fe)
    Save and it should works
    I had to restart Blender for it to work.

    Thank you so much for sharing! I love this tutorial, very straight forward. I had a little problem where the Mixamo plugin didn't work. For anyone else having this issue, there's a problem with some characters in mixamo that when you are importing it to blender, the bones are not properly aligned. To fix this, just choose another character in blender and download the animation again. For me, the default bot had some problems, so I just went with the character called Cypher. I suscribed btw, ily.

    Do you know whether it is possible to add a Mixamo animation onto my own rigify rig?

    • @Brandon-3D
      @Brandon-3D  2 роки тому +2

      Yes it is. I’d have to play around with it to be sure but I think if you upload the rigged model to Mixamo and it’ll accept it and then you add the animation. You could also do this without the rig and it’ll give you one that works with all their animations. I’m not 100% sure. I don’t know (but also again am not sure) if you can apply an animation to the rig without uploading it to Mixamo first. Mixamo does not store your characters to steal them or anything like that (at least they say they don’t).

    Do you know if its possible to use NLA's with the mixamo control rig you can apply via the addon?

    Hi Brandon, any idea why I get the error: Python:Traceback (most recent call last)...AttributeError 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'frame_range', when clicking bake animation? Thanks.

    What do you do when the other rigs aren't working after adding to the NLA track and hitting push down.

    I agree with everyone great tutorial I can't wait to go through all of your tuts. Question my problem is when I change the repeat to a higher number for the walk cycle all it does is repeat over and over it does not go continuously

    When I add a new action, for some reason, the animation does not continue from the same place as I see in every tutorial. Instead, the armature and model teleport to a far location. Does anyone have an idea why this may happen?

    Thanks heaps mate. Really clear and concise. I'm very new to this. My next aim is to upload daz 3d figures(using Facegen or Face Transfer) from daz bridge to blender then as OBJ. to mixamo. Import FBX back into blender then re-target to original clothed, haired, facially animated figure. I tried uploading FBX files to mixamo with no luck. With OBJ I end up with a workable armature Yet to sort out teeth, eyes and decent hair. Will look into Human Generator. Cheers

    For some reason after I "pudh down" I no longer see the animations working on my rig. They still show up on the time line and in the action editor. They no longer drive the rig or mesh. Any clue what could be causing this to happen?

    So I am having some trouble with my rig. I have Blender 3.0. I have downloaded 2 animations. 1. Running girl with skin - in place 2. Run to stop no skin. It didn't have the option to click "In Place" but when I bring it in, I just delete the keyframes for forward motion so they are both in place. I follow all your steps to the letter, but when I get to the NLA part, click shift A to add another strip and right click to move to bottom, it crashes Blender everytime. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I think I’ll just not move that strip to the bottom and just continue on from from there instead of moving it to the bottom. But if you have any ideas I would love to hear them.
