Now we know why when Lila and Diego were escaping the institution neither of them got shot (they were both deflecting bullets), how she got down off the roof so quickly and was able to move around so fast when 5 spotted her and when they were fighting ( she was teleporting), also why the Handler wanted her.
Fun fact. The day they were filming the scene of saving Harlan it actually snowed at the location so they worked it into the scene and used effects to make the rest of the area still look green and normal.
There is a page you can look up where Sparrow was hinted at like 50 times throughout the season. Including pages in Reginalds little nuclear test facility office with the sparrow in the circle instead of the Umbrella.
I can predict Harlan maybe will take in the academy family with them most likely kicked out and fight the sparrow family. Plus he knows vanya for caring/saving him so he will help her and the family.
Her ability it like mirroring, or copying someone else's power that is nearby, she's is like season 3 Peter from Heroes, if they are in the vicinity she can use their powers, which could be a huge game changer if we have two people with Vanya's powers. They only kept Ben in the Sparrow Academy because he never met Ben, he was already dead so he couldn't try to get someone else. I am going to miss our Ben but I'm excited to meet this one. :)
I think they understand her ability, they’re more talking about whether the skill/practice the Umbrella academy have developed with their own abilities is transferred too.

I think the "changes" in 2019 are going to be a combination of the Umbrella Academy messing with the timeline. And Reginald not being impressed with his original "kids". The writers made it a point to have Dave enlisting as a Marine this season, when he was in the Army last season. (plus the enlisting early thing). Also Harlan still having "powers" is going to play out somehow. Thanks for your reactions. You guys are great.
Yeah I think Reginald chose different kids because they pretty much showed him their worst during their meeting. But also I think he might say this at the start but it, he may chose different children in hopes that the originals can return back so they have more manpower to prevent another end of the world.

I think it's how the Hulk can just get stronger and stronger, depending on how enraged he is. I do believe five didn't travel back in time he rewinded the time, like Tracer from Overwatch, he went back a few moments. It's really cool actually and I'm excited to see if he has more powers than we thought he has.

Reg didn't know who they were as babies so couldn't have deliberately chose different babies. The originals didn't get named until Grace named them after they were adopted. This is a different time line.

I think the reason they were different kids, is because their dad was unimpressed by them. If he was to train children with abnormal powers to be world saving heroes, what he saw after being told that was a bunch of broken, idiotic freaks. I mean Claus was just Claus, Luther was a mess, Diego broke down after being told he was wrong and insulted, they were clearly afraid of Vanya using her powers, he was told Alison doesn’t uses hers. The only one with any brains was Five, who told his dad he keeps messing up with his powers getting stuck in time. He was unsatisfied by the future before him so when the time came, he made sure to take different kids. He still took Ben because he never met him or had any knowledge of who he was to avoid taking him.
I think he also did out of spite because Diego screwed up one of the only relationships he cared about (with Grace, the other being with Pogo, I guess)

But the silhouettes of the sparrow academy members and the actor playing Ben look younger, like kids, which would mean they were not born the same day as the umbrella academy kids... I could be wrong, but that's what it looked like to me.

Without Five, Diego would be even more JFK focused and might try bending bullets to save him. Keep in mind 99% of their power training was as minors who weren't fully grown, and training as adults may make them realize the powers weren't fully grown either.

The way I see this timeline is its still one continued timeline even with the time travel that just creates different time lines but the time line theyre on continues on
You know what I realized about this episode when they all suddenly unlocked new abilities with their powers. Not dying is a great motivation, that’s why they were all able to suddenly upgrade. But that tells me that no mater how tough their dad was he never actually put their lives in danger during training.
Maybe not during actual training, but they were definitely in danger during missions. Luther (almost) died. I think it´s more the fact that they are not kids anymore.
Did you forget Ben literally dying during a mission? And to repeat the reply above Luther almost dying and having to have his whole upper body replace?

Cause in the previous episode where they send older looking Five back through the portal, they see everything exactly as it was so up to that point, the "future" is still the same. From that point on, the main difference is Harlan surviving with powers. Even the dad has already met them and it hasn't altered the timeline yet. Really can't wait to see what it was in season 3!
I think Lila can only mirror the power that is used on her in that moment. That's why she can't seem to be able to teleport around Five whenever she wants, but only when Five himself teleport. And she only uses Vanya and Luther's powers when she is attacked by them. Same with Allison. She only rumors her once Allison does it. So she isn't necessarily skilled in any of it, she just bluntly reverses every attack.
Yeah it's a problem in most of Hollywood in general.. worst of all is shows like arrow than people with gun run toward people without guns so that they can get disarmed.. guns are designed to be fired from distance for gods sake.. it made me stop watching arrow
Netflix gives a show usually only 3 seasons, only very few get more seasons. Who knows if we will ever see what Gerard Way has planned for the show (the comics are a bit different to the show)

Anyone ever thought of that they're not the same age anymore? Klaus arrived in dallas on 1960, that means he lived there for 3 years. Allison arrived in 1961, that's 2 years. Luther arrived in 1962, that's 1 year. Then diego, vanya, and five arrived in 1963. From oldest to youngest it would be five, klaus (and ben), allison, luther, diego and vanya.

I have a theory that that Hargreaves was right and the all failed in what they were supposed to do. Luther never completed his mission, Vanya couldn't control her powers, Klaus never fully utilized his own power which means he probably could have saved Ben, Alison has the power to control people but instead of changing the world she became a actress, 5 didn't listen and jumped too far.

5 wasn't there ... thats what changed from episode one of this season and the finale ... 5 is the game changer and saves them everytime

The most unrealistic thing about it is how bullets are treated more as suggestions, rather than deadly projectiles.

Netflix gives a show usually only 3 seasons, only very few get more seasons. Who knows if we will ever see what Gerard Way has planned for the show (the comics are a bit different to the show)

They're definitely different kids, but he originally tried to get all of the 43 in season 1 too. I wonder what he does differently this time to get the moms to sell/give up their children. I wonder what the new timeline Umbrella Academy characters are up to as well, and how different their lives are since they weren't adopted by Hargreeves; specifically Vanya, since she is always- in some way - the cause of the apocalypse.

Anyone ever thought of that they're not the same age anymore? Klaus arrived in dallas on 1960, that means he lived there for 3 years. Allison arrived in 1961, that's 2 years. Luther arrived in 1962, that's 1 year. Then diego, vanya, and five arrived in 1963. From oldest to youngest it would be five, klaus (and ben), allison, luther, diego and vanya.
Klaus IS actually older than Ben bcs he was in the war in season 1

I have a theory that that Hargreaves was right and the all failed in what they were supposed to do. Luther never completed his mission, Vanya couldn't control her powers, Klaus never fully utilized his own power which means he probably could have saved Ben, Alison has the power to control people but instead of changing the world she became a actress, 5 didn't listen and jumped too far.

Nah they seemingly have different powers. There's that weird cube thing floating next to one of the kids. Don't know of any of the Umbrella Academy's powers that would be able to do that in that way
Question: The kids of the sparrow academy are just that - kids. The silhouettes we see, and the version we see of Ben are all younger than the original Umbrella Academy cast, even though we are supposedly caught back up to the correct timing of after the averted apocalypse?? So what changed about the event that created the children, so that this timeline is seemingly behind the original? Why aren't the kids of the sparrow academy adult aged like the Umbrella Academy kids?
