The original ending has Scott end up with Knives, which makes sense because they were more compatable together. I honestly think that would have been the better ending. It’s beautifully filmed. The theatrical ending where he ends up with Ramona came later.
This is such a fun and fantastic film. It's really unfortunate that it didn't have box office success that it should've. You can also tell how much fun they must have had with this film.
This was Brie Larson singing for real, and the entire full version of the song (a cover of Metric's 'Black Sheep') is up on Metric's UA-cam Channel. Brie Larson was a popstar BEFORE she became a movie star, so she was genuinely just doing her thing here.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! What better way to celebrate 20 years of the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series than by watching the movie again! The entire cast is just so awesome, and they definitely had so much fun working on the film! When I watched the cast reunion table read everyone had a blast saying their lines again! I also love how the cast came back for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and did another epic job as their characters! Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Mae Whitman, Jason Schwartzman, Kieran Culkin, Alison Pill, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Aubrey Plaza, Johnny Simmons, Mark Webber, Ellen Wong - I love them all so much!!!!
One of my favorite jokes in this movie is when Knives is outside the house and Wallace is talking to her and she says "Is Scott here?" and He jumps out the window and Wallace goes "he just left."
Something that I really love is that in this movie almost everyone is shit and has their own issues and those issues eventually catches up to them, specially Scott and Ramona, they're toxic with themselves, one another and the people around them. That's why I find it hilarious that Nega-Scott is actually a cool nice guy, cause the true Scott is such a garbage lol
Also, Knives actress ia older than the majority of the cast even though she plays the youngest character. Also, Shout out to Anamanaguchi, awesome band who did the soundtrack for the game and the netflix series. Thay play music with a hacked 8bit console.
This is such a great movie, I need to watch it a second time, maybe even multiple more times after that. I absolutely LOVE the editing and effects on this movie, it's so cool.
I only got this after years of watching this film, the reason the Nega Scott fight is handled so easily is because Scott is already such a bad person that his negative version is actually just really nice and thus Scott can talk him down and plan brunch with him later 😂
the entire franchise is a fan favorite. in the video game of this being a beat em up the band amanaguchi did the music for it, popular enough that the animated series (story different, worth checking out) got the band back to do music for that too to point they even made their own version of techno syndrome (mortal kombat theme) for the show.
They have most of the comics word for word in this movie but obviously some things changed and werent included. Like Nega Scott is supposed to be a good person because he is the opposite of Scott who is kinda an A-hole but overall this is my favorite movie of all time. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
The movie deviates greatly from the comics, since half of it wasn't completed when the movie was being worked on. The comics provide a much more fleshed out story and character development. While the movie takes place over a few weeks the comics take place over a year and a half.
All of the crazy videogame/manga/comic book stuff is all real in-universe. That's just the world that they live in lmao Also, little trivia fun fact, when an evil ex is defeated, they just respawn somewhere like in their house, seemingly learning their lesson 😂
One of the greatest movies ever made. Such artistry, such amazing characters, great comedy, great scene transitions, Edgar Wright went all out for this one
Recommend the comics - they have a different plot as the movie was released before all of the volumes were released. They have a completely different ending and all of the characters are expanded on (especially Kim and Envy). The animated series is good too, although I do think it improves greatly if you've read the comics beforehand
The Envy Adams song is actually an unreleased song by the Canadian band Metric and the audio is the band's singer. However Brie Larson did her own version on UA-cam and it's also really good.
9:04 is why I love Edgar Wright movies and why he should have been the director for ANT-MAN. Even if the movie sucks (which I don't think I've seen one from Edgar yet that I haven't enjoyed the story or at the very least found funny) his creative way to cut scenes together and feel like you're smoothly moving between them rather than boring cut to blacks or random cuts around that can be disorienting...these transitions are just so seamless.
gotta love chris evans acting during this time before he went full in for the captain america role. this, him in the losers with the elevator song scene and him in snowpiercer and his iconic "i know babies taste the best" line.

With the reveals from the later episodes "Takes off" could legitimately be considered a sequel as well as a "sidequel". Like the events from this movie still need to happen to make sure "Takes off" can happen
The original ending has Scott end up with Knives, which makes sense because they were more compatable together. I honestly think that would have been the better ending. It’s beautifully filmed. The theatrical ending where he ends up with Ramona came later.
27:24 this is my favorite part in the whole movie
34:21 That's Thomas Jane, the Punisher himself
Yes. Michael Cera can beat up Superman, The Atom, Human Torch, Captain America, Katara, The Spot and used to date Captain Marvel.
I’ve watched this movie so many times 😂 The new animated series is incredible too
I have the 4k version and watch it often myself, I like to see people's reaction too, glad Eric liked it
This is such a fun and fantastic film.
@@LuckIsImpossibleThe original graphic novel series released in 2004 while the film was 2010.
@tyshco2969 it said "20 years of the novel"
Watching this on the big screen was really fun. I hope it comes back one day. It definitely deserves another go in theaters.
One of my favorite jokes in this movie is when Knives is outside the house and Wallace is talking to her and she says "Is Scott here?" and He jumps out the window and Wallace goes "he just left."
The one movie to pull off ALMOST EVERY movie genre at the same time!! 👌
Wild that Aaron hadn't seen this yet but loved that he was so into the vibe and perfectly in tune with the comedy. Calvin made a great sherpa.
I thought it was more like he has accepted his flaws and is working to be better now.
@@ShadowDemon_4In the comics its more like this but yeah the joke in the movie is that negascott is js rlly nice because scott is so terrible
Aaron and Calvin!! Fun duo. Also LOVE Calvin’s Fulcrum jacket
the entire franchise is a fan favorite. in the video game of this being a beat em up the band amanaguchi did the music for it, popular enough that the animated series (story different, worth checking out) got the band back to do music for that too to point they even made their own version of techno syndrome (mortal kombat theme) for the show.
It’s crazy how most of this cast was only kinda known when this movie came out and now like a bunch of them are big names.
That's just the world that they live in lmao
Also, little trivia fun fact, when an evil ex is defeated, they just respawn somewhere like in their house, seemingly learning their lesson 😂
I had heard about this movie for years and didn't bother watching it until the lockdowns. I kick myself to this day for not seeing it sooner 😂
one of the greatest movies of all time, in elementary school i did a project on this movie back when people was still hating on it. Good Times.
One of the greatest movies ever made. Such artistry, such amazing characters, great comedy, great scene transitions, Edgar Wright went all out for this one
Watching this with you guys, I just realized how, weirdly, RWBY is the closes thing to this movie since it came out.
Recommend the comics - they have a different plot as the movie was released before all of the volumes were released. They have a completely different ending and all of the characters are expanded on (especially Kim and Envy).
The animated series is good too, although I do think it improves greatly if you've read the comics beforehand
I feel so blessed that you guys are watching possibly my favourite movie of all time.
Fun fact: the universal theme plays when Chris Evans arrives on scene, so that it still plays at some point after the 8 bit version at the start.
you know how long i've been waiting for this?
wooooo I'm gonna make a name for myself here
The Envy Adams song is actually an unreleased song by the Canadian band Metric and the audio is the band's singer. However Brie Larson did her own version on UA-cam and it's also really good.
It’s also on Spotify
@@chauser400 Good to know but on UA-cam you can see her sing it.
I just love when peopole react to the cast, it was so stacked
9:04 is why I love Edgar Wright movies and why he should have been the director for ANT-MAN. Even if the movie sucks (which I don't think I've seen one from Edgar yet that I haven't enjoyed the story or at the very least found funny) his creative way to cut scenes together and feel like you're smoothly moving between them rather than boring cut to blacks or random cuts around that can be disorienting...these transitions are just so seamless.
Lucas Lee was loosely based on Jason Lee, btw.
I've seen this movie uncountable times and never noticed Scott Throwing Knives' coat on the floor before the title screen X)
Oh they def need to react to Scott Pilgrim Takes Off!
gotta love chris evans acting during this time before he went full in for the captain america role. this, him in the losers with the elevator song scene and him in snowpiercer and his iconic "i know babies taste the best" line.
I remember having an amazing experience watching this in a mostly empty theater and we all had a blast. I hope they check out the show after this.
