- The Cicada is probably one of the best Medium Mech Skirmish Mech and known for it's hit and run capabilities. Equipped with an array of 6 Medium Lasers this Mech can slowly grind away the enemie's armor while being evasive enough to dodge the return fire.

I am using Haven Kendrick's Soundpack! Download it here: / haven_kendrick . To install, simply locate your Mechwarrior Online installation folder, open "Game" and you will see lots of .pak files. Drop the sound mod file into that folder with the other .pak files, restart the client, and you are good to go!

That first game was awesome! Shows the power of a light mech wolf pack and the value of medium lasers!!!
Wow! What an action-packed first game, and dying to the last enemy on the field at that. The game ended much closer than you'd expect, too.
I look forward to getting out of the lower tiers and onto teams with more cohesion and sense to capitalize on a distraction. I had a similar situation to the second game where I had a good 2/3 of the enemy force focused on me as I ran through the backfield with a light mech, but the team just sat behind cover doing nothing. Not one kill from the team while I was running around drawing all that fire. Then I died, enemies turned back to my team, and they all died one by one poking out of cover.
Regarding medium laser boats I'm a big fan of the Blackjack BJ-1X which can mount 8 (!) of them on a speedy mech with high mounts and a 10% range bonus. It's an extremely good support build for drilling out components from cover and/or from right behind your assault mechs. 40 pinpoint damage on a 45 ton mech is no joke.
2 LL and 6 ML is the Gold Standard on that one.
Dead simple & always been solid. I love how it plays just like a fast light but is noticeably a bit tougher.
Also agree on the old medium laser. Boring as AF but so useful.
After falling in and out of love with this game a few months ago, your channel has re-ignited my love for mechwarrior. :)

They need Bob Ross add ons like a fro and paint brush and maybe a painting to hang up in the cockpit.

Baradul, I have a challenge for you: Use a Blackjack BJ-1X with 4 medium lasers, 2 large lasers and two flamers. Overheat an enemy until he shuts down and then alpha his cockpit (insta kill).

I like the Cicada, it can carry a decent weapon load for its size and has great agility!

Med Lazers were always a good staple in the tabletop game too.
OHHHHH!! This is my favorite... This is the mech I'm best at statistically! Thats the engine. Thats the build. If you see a black cicada with 3 eyes and teeth thats me!! This build though. I like your weapon groups. You could find yourself missing a center option for your 2 chin mounts for crack sniping.

I understand that you like to fit your mech with main weapon and some backups. But I'd really like to see some high-risk high-return play from you, like running all heavy large lasers, triple AC20, or even like your quad gauss from ages ago. It'll be fun for a change.
The problem with high alpha builds is that you get shot first.

That was quite fun to watch, sir. Perhaps a bit frontal assault for a skirmisher - you tend to stay stuck in when you have the speed and opening to break away and re-engage on your terms instead of theirs - but most enjoyable. Thank you.

Baradul, if you have all your weapons on your torso why don't you arm lock? I think it would improve your aim since the reticle wouldn't be as lucy goosey.

IS medium lasers have a great short burn time and good heat to damage ratio. What is not to like? Try getting damage on point with Clan ERSL or ERML and you'll find that IS medium lasers are superior in close range situations.
Because of this vid I was looking at your older x5 vid, I wonder if you want to do the x5 again. One of my favourite mech.

It just amazes me how BAD most people's aim and ability to hit a target is. If it isn't the side of a barn they can't hit it. Then there is the guy who has the shot and doesn't take it.
Great work that first game, using your sensors. The last few team mates alive after you died were hilarious to watch! What a bunch of buffoons lol 1) firing LRMs under 180m range....2) streaks/lrm/machine gun loadout..3) standing still and letting the lineback full burn his CT....4) annihilator standing still to take shots instead of focusing on closing the distance...5) nobody sticking together despite saying so... 6) kit fox missing his entire laser volley despite having full view of the linebacker...7) annihilator missing shots at point blank with HEAVY GAUSS i mean its velocity is huge!!
