I used to run a similar build but also too often ran into ammo problems. I chose to swap for the B variant arms, ditch Artemis and mount 2 heavy medium lasers in the arms. Still have 6 tons of ammo for the 4 SRM6 launchers and also added 2 double heatsinks to help with the 2 heavy medium lasers as backup/fallback option. Well worth the Artemis sacrifice imho :-)
I ran a similar build a while back. I found it too hot and felt that I was losing DPS to riding the heatscale. I also ran it with 2 heavy smalls which aggravated the heat issue. I decided to drop one of the srm6s in favor of better heat dissipation. Which also let me mount the ecm if I wanted to. I like having the 2 heavy smalls as I feel it gives me some point damage to carve off critical components more reliably towards the end game. I haven't tried it with since the heat changes to srm6, though. I also feel like survival is better spent for the skirmisher role it plays over mobility since you present a fairly broad target at the ranges you must fight, but having mask for insane accel/decel enabling peaking. I don't know that you got a lot out of your stop speed in either of those matches. The 2xheavy large/7xmachine guns is my goto ride among all my mechs. I just really enjoy it for quickplay.
Should try the 4 erml stealth armour flea-20 build baradul. It's so good for just making the enemy jump around and react to you leaving them completely open for your team.
Baradul you are like the only other person on earth of ever seen use this. It's so much better than the Arctic Wolf IMO. Try the build with an extra heatsink, you won't regret. I used to recommend a light probe too, but the SRM spread reduction kinda made it pointless, your spread is tight enough even with ECM jamming your artemis.
I don't actually run ecm on the shadowcat I use the most, but it does let you stay relevant to a degree in a short range build. Since you can help cover your other mechs from fire as the teams advance to the brawl stage. Not blipping up on radar as you close is also a plus, especially on darker maps. It also makes life difficult for lockon carriers that neglect active probe. Which is more than I would have expected.
Actually the ECM play's a role if your running 2 or 3 of the SRM Scats in a pack. You wait for your targets to move into range of your larger group, and as far as they know the ECM is coming from someone in your larger group. Then backstab in a pack. 3xSRM6's per SCAT x 3 in the back will pretty much core out most mechs. By the time the mech hits the ground MASC out behind the terrain and repeat.
Ah, daringly going for the no-ECM option here. I admit to being less courageous- mine was an HML + SRM 6 in each arm, with an SRM 4 in the torso and keeping the ECM. Ran cooler with six extra heat sinks, though!
Man, I love harassment builds! Nothing like getting 250+ tons to turn around from a firing line and have your friends shot them in the back. No ECM makes me nervous though :)
ohh nice, quad Srm6+A. and sufficent amount of ammo, and all that at a very respectable speed for a 45 ton Mech. thx Bara, very entertaining vid again as usual (i feel like we should tell u ntl, and not just take it as set standart that is nothing special) since its effort u put in, unregarding if done only here and there or every single vid like u do it, especialy in later case of the two u deserve to hear it (even more to be fair * ^^ *) keep it up Mechwarrior ^_~EDIT: wow im still unable to get over how insane that first game was, using up 6 tons of SRM ammo is sick, mister >_
guys, did anyone else notice that there was NO damage indicator in the 2nd game when he lost his sidetorso? oO are maschineguns not shown as red lines to give the direction where damage comes from? or is there something else i didnt consider? im highly confused why he lost his ST at that point tbh, went back and forth in the clip and cant find anything other then a hit he takes several seconds earlier and the "pling pling pling" of maschinegun hits, but not sure if its him that gets hit or the enemy... anyone?
NVM, i have overseen a very small indicator that he gets shot from the enemy the second they are taken down, weird he lost ST even tho had armor and stucture tho.. anyways, mystery solved * ^^ *
I know. It's a weird world that we are living in. Climate change, crazy progression in technology and research and now this: A Shadowcat without ECM. What has this world become?

agree.
SRM6 is best damage per tonnage weapons in the game
That Atlas attack at 6:45 was sweet, stuff like that makes this game look fun.
I loved the ShadowCat when I played back in the 90's.
LRM 15 and large pulse lasers.
Or
Erppc and small pulse lasers.
Hit and run.

I'm running half mobility half survivability and it works really well
I liked running ATMs instead of SRMs. I currently run a modified ATM and two Medium Lasers just to increase critical.
This is my favorite mech
MY FAVORITE AS WELL
I REFER TO THESE AND THE FLEA/LOCUSTS AS "CHICKEN STYLE MECHS VS. MAN STYLE LIKE THE ATLAS AND HUNCHBACK STYLESS

Since the ECM gives away you being close to some enemy it´s probably better this way.
ECM is most useful to shield from missiles and requires range.

Yes, it´s a great system, but it DOES have its limitations (price, weight and critspace aside).
Would be horrible if it were too OP, wouldn´t it?
Sim. Frischh I would say the primary limitation of ECM is actually hardpoint allocation and skill tree investment. For clan at any rate.

I feel like you could do something crazy with atms
Fun stuff!
Great video \o/ thank you for uploading daily hehe
I run the 3x srm6-artemis + 2x hml +ecm sch. Rarely get less than 500dmg/400match
Playing light mechs seems like way more fun than assault .

I wish there where certain circumstances that a mech could explode upon death. I miss that.

True story: I owned a Shadowcat for about 6 months before I realized that it had MASC!
Me too. Somebody had to tell me in chat, that I can hold LALT to run faster. It was conquest, and I was the last one, so it made sense to use it :D
Am I missing something about the SRM Artemus I just can't justify why they are better than regular SRMs all I see is a slightly smaller Spread..
yeah, it's about the spread. In my opinion it's quite important on SRM6es
No ECM in a Shadowcat? I don't understand....
I know. It's a weird world that we are living in. Climate change, crazy progression in technology and research and now this: A Shadowcat without ECM. What has this world become?
@@Baradul 😂😂😂
Hey, mine doesn't have it either. I know, it's crazy, but it works. You're not a priority target, so you gotta use that to your advantage.
Awww, kinda disappointed when I saw ShadowCat and it wasn't a build I keep recommending.
