- The new Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries DLC "Solaris Showdown" has arrived. Let's take a look at all the gameplay aspects, story, new Mechs and weapon systems together. In this playthrough we will start a new career as a Mechwarrior thrown int o a conflict against our will.

Join Duncan Fisher in a race against time to thwart the overthrow of the Solaris Council, discover the new Loader King 'Mech, select new weapons and equipment tailored for close-quarter engagements, and help save the very future of Solaris.
The gameplay of Mechwarrior 5 is split in two different parts. On the one hand you will have to manage your resources, hire new crew members, outfit your Mechs and travel through the Inner Sphere star map. But the action starts as soon as you get into the cockpit of your Battlemech yourself to fulfill contracts on the battlefield to earn more C-Bills and progress the story. I will review the weapon systems, battlemechs, show you how to build the loadouts and train your pilots and take a look at all the different mission types and upgrades of the MW5 Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC.

You have all these mech/weapon mods installed but "cant afford them". Sell your special mechs the Moderators gave you, and buy some of those expensive weapons and try em out!! LETS SEE THE CHAOS!!

I swear this feels like the first time you tried ASRM again. I love how excited you get every time.
I haaaaate getting overwhelmed with infernos like that
ASRM I think are just streak launchers with the option to fire as a srm instead.
Something I noticed is the mech loadouts of the enemies can change when restarting missions in the arenas. Probably multiple mechs had SRM infernos and changed to regular SRMs when you restarted. Betting my C-Bills on that.
Are there "Continuous Heavy Assault Lasers"?
Would love to see an up close can opener.
I'd say those Micro Missiles would pair up well with the Chainguns, as one shreds armor and the other shreds structure.
@baradul it looks like you got the Dueling Longbows in that Assualt Mech match about 20 minutes in. I haven't seen that since the Solaris patch first came out but it's so fun to watch them just destroy each other in a duel worthy of the clanners
You should use the purchase salvage mod its actually pretty balanced and can be adjusted, then you could pay like 1.5 to 2 mil for the warhawk part , you could slot it right into your game and no issues. mostly effective in the early game where you only get like 6 salvage shares.
Not sure if it is in the game but, a way to make presets for lances and individual slots/mech would be nice.
That way, you would not need to search for the right pilot for the right mech.
Just connect the mech with the pilot and they get added together.
And have something like "Lance A" and "Lance B", that would add preselected mechs and pilots.
Yeah, I`ve suggested that too. It really helps in the multiple missions a lot, especially with the mod that your pilots need resting.

I still think you should find another melee weapon for the Shadowhawk so it can dual wield and maximize its melee quirk potential.
you should pick up a scrapper at some point just to try it out once :D

If you do go for assault mechs, you should make a Victor 9b work if you can find one. All the chainguns use the same ammo and work great on chain fire. Three chaingun 20s, 2 er pulse lasers, 2 srm 4, duralast armor and a super charger got me pretty far into the late game
Out of curiosity which mods do you have running with conflicts, got the pilot overhaul working but it conflicts with YAML
Most conflicts are okay as long as you have the correct load order. You can check out my mod guide for more info on load order if youre not sure.
100% agreed with that restart. That was such a cheesy way to die
maybe the LRM 10 inferno from the crusader hits you ?
propably some mechs had 2x lrm10 infernos and some had srm infernos close to bara so maybe he got crosfire inferno from tons of guys lol tough with 200 heat TSM propably liked run much with that lol
watching it back, the first time around the priority target highlander had 2 srm6 infernos, and with the stealth on his cooling couldn't keep up and overheated. at that point the highlander kept hitting him with the infernos keeping him over heated.
on reload the highlander only had 2 srms 6-st. so not as deadly for bara.

Maybe grind for cash instead of parts, for a while..?
Is it just me or does this merc company devolve into a sports team with all these duels?
