- This gameplay tutorial for Mechwarrior Online shows you how to utilize your Mech to it's best extent. I'll give you a rundown of the build and what it is made for and show you the actual combat role in two games on the battlefield.
Mechwarrior Online is a competitive first person shooter where you build and pilot massive Mechs and prove yourself on the battlefield. The game is based on the Battletech franchise, which originally was a science fiction tabletop game in the 80s. Big part of the game is configuring your loadout and find the best match of missile, ballistic and energy weapons for your playstyle. The weapon variety ranges from devastating autocannons over particle projectors to deadly arrays of laser beams. On the battlefield your team of 12 Mechwarriors fight the enemies on rather small arena-type maps. Teamwork is crucial here because a single Mech does not survive long if it steps in front a full firing line. Communication and teamwork is key on your journey to glory and victory.

I am using Haven Kendrick's Soundpack! Download it here: / haven_kendrick . To install, simply locate your Mechwarrior Online installation folder, open "Game" and you will see lots of .pak files. Drop the sound mod file into that folder with the other .pak files, restart the client, and you are good to go!

Had a laugh at how tall the weapons tab was on the HUD.
It's literally the maximum number of weapons you can carry. There's a few Clan omni combos that can get more than 16 hardpoints -- e.g. the Dire -- but the game will throw an error if you try to equip that many.
That "Weapon Jam" definitely felt lore accurate lol
Frustrated with my LRM Longbow 10C, I converted it into a 6 Rocket 20 and 4 Snubby PPC build. Several hours later, MWO announced the spitfire 😆
My 10C doesn't have the same alpha strength as this, obviously, but left/right with the snubbs gives it a lot more sustain afterwards.
I was running the 4 man centurion lance, not sure how we ended up in a t1 game tho. Always good to see you in the field baradul. 👍

Gave this build a shot earlier. It's really quite consistent in damage output (your second match was a definite standout). I ended up dropping speed tweak and picking up more sensor skills.
The mech is great at stopping a push and if you're patient you can completely shut down an assault and cause your opponents to start running back. Fun build but you're right, definitely a meme build.
i think you got lucky in the second match, firing rockets into that tight clump of mechs, even the rockets that missed you intended target hit someone else

In the first game, you rolled our team and made our 4 man cent lance so out of place, lol.
An LRM5 loadout would be interesting on a mech with so many missile hardpoints. Possibly even an SRM build. You lose the enormous alpha strike of rockets, but you gain the endurance of being able to shoot more than once.
With a light 340 and endo you can fit dual snubs and 14 SRM2s (with case for ammo in the sides). If you take light-ferro-fibrous as well it'll fit 14 LRM5s, a tag, and a small laser; or drop 2 LRM5s and replace the SL with a light PPC.
Personally I've been running dual snubs and 8 MRM10s, dropping the engine to a light 330 and wasting 0.4tons so I can fit 2400 missiles into the thing.
And yes, all of these builds run hot AF

I can see all the rockets on chain fire- you can control your shots to conserve ammo and make sure the shot connects, or spam that fire button as needed for burst.

I feel like this is a 'mech that'd be really well served by strike consumables for after the rocket burst.
at 8:10 you push around the corner and see back of overheated warhammer. He is later turning mech on and you are surprised that he is near you.
First build I theory-crafted when this mech released before attempting the LRM90 build, which is almost as meme-worthy but more as an ez-bake oven. The sustained version of this is my current favorite: dual snubs and 8 MRM10s split into 2 banks , you get a similar damage output after 2 staggered volleys and you can carry a couple thousand missiles.

I'd use 2 erppcs instead. 14 hs is enough and build becomes more versatile, u could do more than just tank for team after rockets fired

Used a MAD-II build which was just RL20s+ one RL10 and 3LPLs. After nuking an assault I was basically a legged T-Bolt usefulness-wise, but man was that first load worth it.
Such coordination. Almost played these matches like Supreme Commander...

It really is spitting fire.
The team crowding stressed me out but that ball of enemies was perfect for a rocket blast. It was worth the heat to see that 1,000 damage.

I’m curious to see if an LRM5 + double HPPC build would work, I’m not really a fan of rockets because they’re so situational and it’s also just not fun to be a big mech with very little weapons (after you fire the rockets) unless it’s a Charger 1A1.
id say 2 large Xpulse lasers could be a very good alternative for the snubs.
With srm.. or ssrm and tag but chained fire... like a rac but with missiles

@@tomcarroll2312the Scorch, with the 88 point ghost heat free alpha that it can repeat all match? Yeah he'd be pretty sad. Rockets are hardly game destroying. I think the javelin build is more obnoxious by far, at least the spitfire is usually going to come at you from the front.
@@tomcarroll2312 I've been on both sides of such a scenario plenty of times. Sometimes you wreck face, sometimes your face gets wrecked. Just how it goes. No big deal.
3:25 "you have to be in.. emm.. 60 m or something". Is it a joke? It literally says 50 m, FIFTY! One of the rare cases where the game gave a clear description rather than diagrams without value labels, but you decided to ignore it and voice the unclear value by yourself.
